A Festivus MMP For The Rest Of Us

I cant’ tell you how much I want one of these!!!

UPSs are going off all over the place - some guys were cleaning our floors and apparently they blew a breaker. Not in my little office, tho - we’re on a different circuit from the others on the hallway. So far, so good…

Blurfage All is well here in the Southernmost city I guess. I went back to the ortho doc for more knee shots. We are feasting today upon pizza, salad and fruit salad plus cookies and cake. We also had a grits casserole for breakfast. It’s an all day food fest. I am tired already.

Happy Thursday everyone.

I survived errands and the trip to :eek:Wally*World:eek:. Now I am in chill mode. Nappage to ensue soon.

Tell her you love her, every day.

What about “hold my beer”?

Happy (Holiday) Travels all! My kids will get here to my parent’s house sometime this afternoon. I need to get the last few bits of Christmas shopping done, hopefully tomorrow.

Our office lunch was really meh. They brought in fried chicken (I’m not a big fan) and steamed oysters (ick) then various folks brought pasta salads (“salad”?? Really?) meatballs, shrimps, chips, and far too much sweet stuff. My veggie platter was the sole healthy alternative, and it was largely ignored - big surprise there… There wasn’t much there that appealed to me, and I ended up feeling a bit ick. So I came back to my desk to surf and chill. Meanwhile, there’s no more work for me to do. I got pretty much everything done this morning and everyone seems to be in holiday mode already.

I’d like to just bail - maybe I’ll burn an hour of leave and head home. There’s stuff to be done before we leave. My dread of this trip grows by the minute. If you’ve never suffered the endlessness of our easternmost interstate, you’re lucky.

I wonder if there’s any objective way to measure how horrid various interstates are. I10 in Texas. I40 in New Mexico and Arizona. I70 Ohio, Indiana, Missouri, Kansas, Colorado. I70 is a special kind of nothing for days empty.

Dr.'s office has decided that I might have an infection at my incision. :smack: I’m waiting to hear back from them. Sigh.

Been a slothfull day today.

You say that before.

Empty is better than andy Interstate in the NYC/NJ area. Especially on a Monday morning.
And hope it’s a quick fix if it is infected.

I hesitate to repeat myself, but sloth is one of the seven deadly sins.

I crossed I-70 from Indiana to Colorado… in the winter… hours and hours of flat white nothing. NOT fun. I also did I-10 from Jacksonville to Pensacola - also quite boring. No way of knowing how many times I’ve done I95 between FL and MD - dozens. It never gets any better.

I bailed early and now I’m home. We’ll go out for supper, then do laundry and pack. Early to bed, I hope…

Kittehs are with Gail - Ziva wouldn’t come out of her crate, but Taz was exploring. It’s weird not having to lock all the doors - no worries about Taz eating my spider plants.

**FCD **didn’t want supper. I’m having a sammich and the first load of clothes is in the washer. One more to go, then we pack. I need to remember to bring the cooler in so I don’t forget the ribs in the morning. A list might be a good idea…

ho ho freekin’ ho… :stuck_out_tongue:

Like a manufacturer &/or distributor.

It’s 30 hrs straight-thru from here to ABQ. Just when it starts to get interesting to look at, we get to ABQ, & make a left turn (into the hotel lot).

I did a couple of interstates in PA/NJ/NY/CT yesterday morning; not too bad.
It’s Caroling Night!
Our running club runs to a bunch of bars & sing Xmas carols. (Though only 4 this year + the brewpub we start & finish at.) Between the running & the singing, we’re planning time at each location to wet those poor, poor, parched vocal cords.

I supped upon fried chikin strips, green beans and smashed N.O.T. A fairly normal suppage for one without adult supervision. Anywho I have enough left for N.O.L. tomorrow. I foresee pizza for tomorrow’s sup. OYKW made it to the wilds of west Alabammy in one piece. Said the drive was not bad with not a whole lot of traffic except around Monkey Town and through the teemin’ metropolis that is Demopolis. There shall be a big extended family bbq on Sattidy and Christmas Eve/Day just with his immediate family. I shall stay around here for Christmas. I’ll be gettin’ together with JDD and Partner at their place. JDD’s sis, Partner’s sis, and assorted others will be there. I offered to help cook but was told that’s all under control. I shall, however, bring a cheese ring with strawberry preserves and crackers to munch upon and a batch of Bloody Mary’s. OK, the mix and everyone can add vodka to their likin’. I am also bringin’ vodka. Thus are the plans for Christmas merriment. Well, that and Christmas Eve services at the church house.

Happy Thursday!

Happy Winter Solstice Day!

I’m glad to know I am not the only one who didn’t like Seinfeld.

Christmas shopping is done, the last package was delivered today.
The semester is over, and it was a rough one for him. He got his first ‘B’.
He should have read through Rate-My-Professor before signing up for that class.

Now to get through Christmas Day.
And then another new year.

Trying to catch up on what’s happening with y’all.

Hope the rest of your recovery goes smoothly Sunny.

I hope everyone who is traveling has a safe trip.

No Festivus Pole here, no decorations of any kind.
I like looking at other people’s decorations, I’m just not into doing my own.

Sari :tacklehug: I thought of you often. Welcome back.

Home and probably gonna skip any food as I ate enough today for three people. I just want to sleep.

I gotta do Beer and Hyms one of these days.

sari!
: tacklehug :

Carolers.

metal mouse, it sounds like your day’s housekeeping accomplishment was the same as mine.

sunny, I would put the snarl that is I40/I24/I65/I440/I840 in the Nashville metro and suburbs in the running for the bad congestion. No really good public transportation, most of the working class priced out of the city where they work and tourons in their huuuuuuuge motorhomes doing 47 mph in the fast lane. Makes me glad that I no longer have the long commute that I used to.

I have made the I10 trek from Pensacola to Houston, I70 from Indianapolis to Denver and I40 from Knoxville to Amarillo. The I70 trips were the most dull.

My new water heater still isn’t in. Had they gotten it in today, I would have put a restaurant gift card in a Xmas card for the manager and maintenance guy. Given that the puppy crate has been in my bedroom, which is way too small for that, for a week and a half, I’m ready to get this show on the road.

Christmas day, I’ll lunch with my SIL, niece, great niece and nephew and nephew at a local Chinese place. I’ll be serving at Room at the Inn for dinner. Basically, I’ll have a much needed three day weekend.

{{{sari}}}!!!

How’s the new pup?

First load of laundry is done, unders are in the dryer. When they come out, we’ll be able to pack. Have I mentioned how much I dread this little excursion? Anyone heard any reports about traffic on I-95? I suppose I could google…

Sari!!! Welcome back!

I am feeding the kids pizza. Then there shall be quiet time until bed.

We do laundry every day.
Too boring to report.
You guys do laundry like I paint the house. :dubious:
