A Festivus MMP For The Rest Of Us

Blurf At irk early. Traffic is a nightmare earlier but I can leave earlier so there is that. We are having our office xmas party tomorrow. I have one clerk, an older lady, that is privileged and since I always provide the drinks she pronounced she only drinks one thing. It is a specialty soda that is only available at a local café. I am not going all over town to purchase one soda so I guess she will have to furnish her own. She is my best worker but the more I get to know her the less I like her.

Another day another dollar and a half.

Happy Geezer Day at the Pubic Store Swampy and happy hump day to everyone else!

Thanks Butters Geezer Day at the Pubic Sto’ has been celebrated. Besides the usual comestibles, I purchased two very nice salmon filets for tonight’s sup. I foresee those, peas 'n carrots, green sallit, and rolls. Next up is brunch in an hour.

Umph. Sudoku puzzles solved and it looks like the rain may be departing here to call upon swampy later today. Paid (I hope) my last bill for 2017, so I can archive all my 2017 paperwork and get ready for 2018.

Up, caffineated, and sheveled. Closing shift tonight, and we’re open till 11. Yay.

Last night, in adventures in dreaming… next to the bed, my mother had hung a large quilt square on cardboard backing. It is clearly on the wall, by my pillow. Somehow, when I woke up in the middle of the night, it was floating in the middle of the room, and NOT hanging on the wall. This was NOT correct and I was NOT having it. I took my hand and slapped the quilt square as hard as I could. Sure enough, I was right. It was not floating in the middle of the room. It was a wall. My hand hurt to prove it. The dog also wants everyone to know that hyoomans are crazy. They will randomly smack walls for NO reason.

I was trying to quote Monty Python,

based on the quotes, which were very close.

I officially give up. It’s close. I promise.

Home. One more day to go then no more work till Jan 2. I’m definitely ready for a break.

**FCD **doesn’t want supper - we shall forage for whatever is in the fridge. The rest of the evening will be max chillage.

I have brunched, napped, and supped. How do I keep up such a fast pace! The salmon filets were really good. I rubbed in some minced garlic, sprinkled with lemon pepper and brushed 'em with lemon juice and grilled. Perfect! I know there are all kinds of ways to prepare and grill but this was simple and delicious. Chillage now ensues.

Yay sunny!

Nothing exciting happened today. It’s been a Cat-in-the-Hat day outside. This evening, I will pick up a CL purchase. We’re meeting at one of the Pubic Sto’s here in town. Other than that, I’m chillin’.

I only have the best dream debacles.

Sunny, sounds like you had a lucid dream (Lucid dream - Wikipedia). Never had one myself, best that I can tell, but would make for an odd evening…

Nothing much to report today-cleaning the bathtub was the highlight. Dined at 5 Guys and left just in time for the last rain shower of the day to soak me good.

Flying out Sunday to Texas for Xmas, but still don’t have the address for where we are staying (brother and Sis-in-law rented a house for a week, didn’t know that was a thing, but…). I’ll give him until noon Firday before I start being a real pest.

Hi all. Greeting from Dallas. All day yesterday through noon-ish today it was foggy and drizzling when it wasn’t pouring. This afternoon and now night it became clear & beautiful. Well the weather is beautiful; Dallas itself is an ugly mess as always.

Long irk day today, and start irk tomorrow at 5am. So bedtime is imminent. Should be home to FL tomorrow. Overate at dinner, but sometimes food loading one day is the only way to get through the early part of the next day before food’s available.

Mañana all.

I’m home now. Bedtime; will read [del]tomorrow[/del] later today.

I had a terrible time falling asleep last night, then I woke stupid early today. On the plus side, I finished my book. I tried downloading a couple of audio books for our trip, but apparently my tablet doesn’t have the software to play mp3 files. I’ll see if I can figure it out today - otherwise, it’ll be satellite radio all the way.

Today is our work lunch. I got a veggie tray at Food Lion yesterday. I was going to make one up myself, but this was quicker, easier, and cheaper, if you consider how much time I’d spend putting it together. It’s in the fridge waiting till I have to haul it out to the shop.

After work today, we have to crate the cats and take them to their cat lodge, do some laundry, run the dishwasher, and pack. We can get most stuff in the car tonight, and we plan to take off in the dark dark dark of the morning. All day on I-95 - rah. :stuck_out_tongue:

Happy Winter Solstice!!

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN 'Tis 55 Amurrkin out and cloudy with a predicted high of 67 and mostly cloudy for the day. The rain may return tomorrow. We shall see. OYKW left a bit ago for the wilds of West Alabammy to see his family for Christmas. He shall return next Thursday. Thus I am now without adult supervision. I don’t have anything on the agenda for the day except I will make a trip to :eek:Wally*World:eek: to get some yogurt and a few other items. I like their brand of yogurt so I shall be brave and venture forth.

Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then I suppose I should purtify if I am to go about the public. Rah.

Happy Thursday Y’all!

Oops. I’ve just realised that my attempt to be all organised hasn’t quite come off; rather than do the drive to the parents’ all in one go, which will probably be about 8 hours, by myself, I thought I’d try stay over in Bristol, where I used to live, for a night, and break it up. I’d had multiple people offer to put me up next time I’m around, and it’d be nice to do some last minute shopping in the city, and meet up with people. Turns out a lot of people are going to be away, but someone said sure, I can stay at his. Except I’ve just realised I gave him the wrong date; I said I’d be there 22nd and we’d sorted time and vague plans for the evening. I meant 23rd. He’s heading away at lunchtime on the 23rd.

I might be OK staying there for the night even if he’s not around, as he has a cat that likes company and did offer the room on the way back when he’s not around (kitty has automated feeder, live streamed food bowl, cat flap that sends him a text every time she goes in or out and at least one emergency friend with a key, if you were wondering), but, well. Oops.

Anyway, I should head out and get final presents and get the car cleared out for the drive. I’m irking tomorrow, otherwise I’d head up then and stick to the accidental plan.

Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Off today. Laundry time, since the washer is cooperating again.

Nut, enjoy the accidental adventure!

Years ago I had a chance to buy a chair like that very reasonable at an antique shop. Like the casket I wanted for a coffee/coffin table the Old Wench nixed the idea. :frowning: I don’t regret them as much as the hula-dancing taxidermied alligator lamp she insisted I not buy but I’ll always remember them.

If I had a nickel for every time I’ve said that and another for every “it sounded like a good idea” I wouldn’t be clocking into Da Jungle!
Speaking of which I did a good thing there yesterday. A coworker was going into some sudden kind of medical distress and I bypassed the system and shouted over for our EMT (she was a couple lines away at the time) and she jumped right into “real work mode” and took care of everything. Don’t know what the issue was or the results but I am glad that my ability to be aware of everything around me all the time paid off. Usually folks just find my “seen-that habit” annoying.

Well, I’m still OK to stay over (in case anyone was worried  ), but it means I now have a time limit of getting there by 2pm. If traffic’s not too bad, I should be there by 12, so hopefully not a problem. It does feel a bit weird sleeping in a friend’s house when they’re not there though, though admittedly I would have barely seen him anyway, as he was going out to a party then doesn’t get up til about 1, by which time I’d be long gone.

Yay for paying attention being useful for once Ruble! Wish the people thronging the local supermarket were doing a bit more of that, the whole place was full of panicked folks grabbing stuff, nearly running into each other and cars nearly ramming other cars and pedestrians in the life-or-death struggle to get a parking space. Was like a herd of wildebeest that had just been rushed by a lion. But with more cars.

Dude, you really need to talk to someone. :dubious:
