It’s mid-November. The year is almost over. When did that happen???
Happy Moanday.

Happy Moanday.
You remember when America and Britain complained about how hot it was?
Well it’s now reached Australia.
Blimey!
I guess the heat had to go somewhere - here it dipped below freezing two nights of the past 3.
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 52 Amurrkin out and mostly cloudy with a predicted high of 71 and mostly N.O.S. for the day. Today I shall finish spiffin’ da cave. I also need to go pick up a prescription and return a book to the liberry as well as find sump’n to read whilst at the liberry. We shall sup upon poke tenderloin (in the slow cooker as I post), baked sweet N.O.T., asparagus, and rolls. Maybe that’s enough to keep me outta trouble all day.
2017 has zipped on by! Mom’s death has been the big thing for me this year. Can’t believe that was in April and here it is, like MOOOOOOM said mid-November already. Next week is Amurrkin Turkey Day!.
OK, I need more caffeine and rumbly tummy demands sustenance. Then I should finish up da cave, purtify and go forth into the public.
Happy Moanday Y’all!
Afternoon, mumpers! It has been cold and wet the last few days but I’ve been in Welsh Wales where you expect it to be like that! We had an awesome time at a rock festival, but it’s back to reality with a thump today.
It was cold overnight, there was frost around this morning although the weather lady said it was warming up again soon so we’ll be back to double-figure daytime temperatures by midweek.
We had our first snowfall this week. It was light but it’s a sign of things to come.
Blurf.
The gas company is doing some work to the pipes that run under the street. Naturally, they feel compelled to start said work, which involves digging a hole through the street with a Sawzall at freaking 8:00 in the morning, and I’m surprised they waited until then. I work until midnight and while today is my day off and I can nap at my leisure, who the hell can do that with the noise and yelling? Thanks, UGI.
I’m spending my morning doing needful things. I’ve got a scarf to finish, a couple of lessons for my criminal law class to get through, and I’m doing some radio stuff to get ready to make that purchase. I have to round up some people to hook up an antenna and help test the equipment, but when that’s done, I’ll be on the air!
Blurf Absolutely the year has flew by. I guess our big thing this year was Irma. Still piles and piles of junk everywhere. The contractor that had a contract to remove storm debris pulled out and a new contractor had to be found. It is a complete mess. The storm was over two months ago.
At irk as usual. I enjoyed my three day holiday. I would much rather have holidays on Moanday instead of Firday but I will take em as I get em.
I think that years (and time itself) move faster the older we get; I doubt physicists would agree, but it sure seems that way.
Still, a year with a new roof, new windows and a new door to the house along with nearly 3 weeks in Scandinavia on vacation, 7 soccer teams coached and 50+ games refereed, seems to be something worth remembering. I have a photograph…
Ah well, onward. Need to take the garbage out and maybe use the last dregs of gas in the mower to trim back a little bit more in the back yard, but otherwise nothing of great consequence pending.
Rockin’ I think 0800 is the world standard to wake everybody up by starting street/public works.
We’re getting older; time has gotten shorter. Things long in the past are like yesterday and tomorrow is 10 minutes into the future.
Either that or I need to get more sleep.
Other than that awake and enjoying some hot tea with some general adulting on the side. Am going to have to shut down my browser and clear cookies shortly as all the pages are getting a little wonky.
Time goes by so fast these days.
I moved to my new home almost a year ago. I love it here.
In keeping with the theme of the OP - where the heck did my morning go?? It’s lunch time already!! OK, it’s good for the work day to sip by, but not the rest of the time. Seriously, dudes…
The rain has stopped but it’s still dreary outside. Maybe we’ll see sun tomorrow? Maybe??
The morning has gone by too fast for me, as I stupidly got up too late. Oops.
I thought about starting us off; had a good story, but was too fried to type anything coherent. I feel much better, but could use a nap & another day for the muscles to recover. I really wanted to get out before irk this morning, but it was raining & I didn’t want to go quite that much.
As to the OP, this seems appropriate.
Ruble, sounds like a good idea. I made cookies on the 'puter go bye-bye, now I’m doing the same with some Oreos.
The weather today is almost Missourian. Very windy, rain sideways, suddenly sunny, than back to really windy. I think I’m taking Pepper to puppy play land today. I’m probably not going out there to do walkies. Call me Princess Pretty Paws.
I need to make some phone calls, do laundry and other than that we’ll see. Tomorrow I leave for CA for more medical stuff.
Re: the OP, I think the year went by in a blink because we spent the whole year doing this: . Every single week, or day, there was a new reason to . It’s exhausting.
Happy Moanday all!
I think I must have wound up with everyone else’s missing time; I’ve had so much stuff going on this year, my time perception has gone all screwy the other way, and I keep referring to things that happened before about May as ‘last year’.
Today was lovely and sunny (if chilly), so I was naturally inside all day. Oh well. I’m hopefully going to go play at micropropogation tomorrow, as an interesting extra, having sneakily worked a way to get the college to pay fuel (I’m irking for them just down the road, for which they will pay fuel, so I’m going down early to do some fun stuff beforehand).
Time is all wonky for me too since the hurricane. Hurricane brain is a real thing.
Blurf. I need to go to the Pubic store to get foods and drinks for the office. I keep forgetting I can use the commissary just across the street. Maybe I will just go there. Stuff is way cheaper there.
Still not 100% over my sinus illness. I have a ENT appt for Firday near Miami. I am betting there is surgery in my future. Blurf.
The commissary is closed on Moanday. The Pubic Store it is.
Wifey brought home a bottle of that kombucha stuff. I think she said someone gave it to her, as she wouldn’t buy something like that, and she gave it to me. I drank some of it this morning. I think it’s one of those things that people believe makes you younger, stronger, sexier, or better looking, or something. I’m pretty sure they aren’t drinking it for the taste. I’m gonna pour the rest of it down the sink.
I’ve often wondered if peoples perception of time depends on how fast they think. For instance, those people who drive real slow. I wonder if to them their progress seems normal and all the rest of us seem to be zipping around at an accelerated rate.
I also sometimes wonder if the progress of time itself is dependent on the speed of our motion through the universe, and if we really were at the ‘center’ of the universe, and standing still, would time have stopped for us?
I also sometimes wonder if I should stop at the store and get some cookies?
Happy Moanday, y’all
I always find time goes way slower when I’m doing new and interesting stuff, so a 2 week holiday can seem as long as a few months of boring ‘getting-up-irking-coming-home-eating-dinner-messing about-online-for-a-bit-going-to-bed, repeat’ life.
I’m glad it’s that way round.
I also think that’s why time goes faster with age, less stuff is new, but this year has definitely lasted longer than age 19-20 did, 'cos that year was mind-numbingly dull, I think I can remember about a week’s worth of stuff that happened that year.
