Blurf We had a medical emergency and had to call 911. Of course the Navy firetruck was the one to respond. The lady has a seizure alert dog with her but she was not having a seizure. I think it was more an anxiety attack. The EMT gave her one of her Ativan pills and the Chaplain is here now talking to her. Her husband is deployed and I think she has no one here. Poor thing. Just a little excitement.
Every year seems to go by faster. But we are getting to winter, although there has been no snow yet.
Funny year weather-wise. While most of the northern hemisphere seemed to be having record heat, we had the coolest summer I can recall. But fall was slow and we had our first frost only last week. First snowfall is generally between Nov. 10 and 20, so it could still be an ordinary winter.
Time has flown by today. I finished spiffin’ da cave, went to the liberry, went and got my ‘script, had KFC for N.O.L. and went to Sam’s to fill up twuck. Now it’ after two p.m.!
Bumba always, always, always buy the cookies. That is a no brainer.
Painted the shed, took daughter to play group. Did some shopping, painted some shelves, cooked dinner.
Wife is coming home super late because her shitty job is keeping her back.

My day was pretty busy - I had 5 different charge codes on my time card. I’ve pretty much finished with Josh, and I talked to the boss last week, so now I’m being fed miscellaneous stuff from miscellaneous folks. Variety is nice, tho it’s weird having to change gears according to the project - some are really quirky as far as what they want on their drawings.
Makes the day go by, so there’s that.
N.O.T. soup for supper - quick and easy. Then an evening of nothing, which is good. At least it didn’t freeze last night.
OMG - this was one of my better pots of soup! It was enough for each of us to have 2 bowls - happy tummies abide!
Time to do the dishes now.
I find that time flies whether or not I’m having fun.
Well, I should get to some music work before the day flies away from me.
As the frog said - time’s fun when you’re having flies!
For G-d’s sake, don’t get them started.
My Auntie Lenore died this morning.
I’m not feeling as sad as I should be. She and her family were a close part of my childhood, but grew ever more distant as we got older, and in the last few years there was no contact at all between her and my Mum (her sister) for about ten years. And for me, living in a different country, I have been even more separated. Her husband, my Uncle Jim, died ten years ago, her son Mark many more years ago, back when I was a teenager. Only her daughter, my cousin Carolyn, remains of that generation of her family.
She was 76.
**BatBoy **- condolences about your aunt.
I had similar situations with aunts and uncles who I may not have seen for years. Most of them lived in other states when I was a kid, and after I joined the Navy, I was moving around a lot, rarely seeing any of them. I now have only one living uncle, and my oldest cousins are in their 70s. Guess I’m in the generation that’s next in line…
Skritches to metal mouse’s neighbor puppy. She sounds adorable.
Moooom, I had leftover beef, veggie and barley stew with corn muffins for supper. It was even better for a day and a half in the fridge.
Got settled into my new irkspace today. I am going to invest in a better pair of headphones with a longer cord though. We are now only an aisle way from one of the production areas. While not too noisy, our close confinement, lack of cube walls and people coming and going all day are distracting.
Veggie beef is always better the next day. I need to make some soon.
Sorry about your Aunt, BatBoy. I am in the same situation with some of my aunts and uncles, mostly on my mom’s side. On my dad’s side, we’ve stayed closer for whatever reason.
Housekeeper is coming tomorrow, then I catch a shuttle to the airport. Sometimes it is good to go and get a minute to breath, even though there is usually poking and prodding involved.
I did not too shabby on the vittles if’n I do say so myself. The rest of the poke loin has been chopped up and will turn into bbq sammiches probably Thursday. I took some beast stew outta da freezer for tomorrow. That and corn muffins sounds like a good thing. MOOOOOOM has inspired me to make some ham ‘n N.O.T. soup one day soon. Maybe Wednesday. Easy to do and there will be leftover corn muffins. Plans are underway for Turkey Day feast. I shall do the turkey, dressin’, gravy and a sweet N.O.T. pie. Others who are showin’ up will bring other stuff so it’ll be a biiiiiiiiiiiiig feast.
{{{BatBoy}}} sorry about your aunt. Even though you haven’t been close with her for some time it’s still sad when a relative dies. I have one uncle alive still on both sides of the family, mom’s and dad’s youngest brothers. Dad’s brother lives in Kansas and I rarely have contact with him. I trust we will be told of his demise when it happens. Mom’s brother is in a nursin’ home in Ye Olde Home Towne. He has AD and really does not know who I am but I go visit whenever I’m up there. My next to oldest brother and I even made his funeral arrangements and pre-paid so when his time comes there will be no worries. He always said he did not want any kind of ceremony so we will abide by his wishes.
My condolences Guanolad, for whatever they are worth.
Thanks everyone. I guess I’m reaching that time of my life where people will start to drop off more frequently. A little bit sobering.
Worked, Canes won, life is good.
Yes, yes, and yes.
How does a frog build a ship? It ribbets the parts together.
My condolences, BatBoy.
Waking up multiple times a night doth well and truly suck the devil’s bathwater.
In other news, it’s looking like highs next week and on to Turkey Day will be in the low 50s and lows in the 30s. My daughter will be coming from Orlando, where it’s still in the 80s. I shall smile benignly.
**FCD **had a dental appt yesterday, and I love his hygienist. He was telling her bad jokes (Dad-bad, not dirty-bad) and she finally said: “Now I know why your teeth are all brown - from all the crap that comes out of your mouth!” Good for her!! And no, his teeth aren’t brown.
On the plus side, there’s supposed to be sun today. HUZZAH! And Happy Tuesday!
