A Foot Cramp MMP

Cat just caught a mouse!

What a good kitty!

Excellent kitty! Did he kill/eat it?

Burgers, marinated maters and cukes, and coleslaw for dindin. ‘Twas so gooooood! Since I am the readin’ kind of Lector tomorrow mornin’ I suppose I should take a look at the lesson. Or I could just wing it. Might be more fun that way.

Sari yay for mouse catchin’ kitty! Maybe his name should be hunter.

Sari, sounds like this feline is a better fit. My suggestion for a name comes from a SF seires I’m fond of: Nimitz.

Done with soccer for the day (my team won 5-0 and there were no problems with the three games I refereed), but too tired to remove my referee gear; just sitting and writing. Probably will work up the ambition to empty the dryer and go get something to each here in a bit.

Sari, he may or may not have been a Kellogg’s cereal, he may or may not have been a Tigger; I suggest Tony.

LM, may I suggest you just finish cleaning & reassembling the long guns next time he comes over as it’s quite obvious nothing good can come from a full beard at that age. I mean look at the examples, a Ruble, a hockey player, & a Bear.

Got up at 4am to go spectate a race / our team in honor of one of my good friends (Damn skippy she’s a good friend to get up that early). About ½ of the team got age-group medals…well, except for S who got first overall! Not a bad group haul!
I know this group; as expected we were drinking champagne overlooking Central Park & celebrating by 10:30 am. Given we live in 3 or four states, we don’t get together often, but, boy, when we do…

NOTSD was fun as always and got some shopping and puttering around the house done. Now some bad horror and a good nights sleep.

He killed it and left it laying intact while he went over to his bowl for a snack. I guess killing mice makes him hungry.
I told him what a wonderful kitty he is and gave him lots of loving. He was so proud of himself, he strutted all around the house with his tail held high.
He even strutted right up to Sah-son. He is still mad I got another cat, but I think he is coming to appreciate this one.

I swept the mouse up and threw it in the trash while kitty wasn’t looking. I don’t want to offend him, and I sure don’t want to find dead mice on my pillow.

Nimitz could work, so could Hunter. I thought about Slayer - since I like their music.

Can you tell that I am really into this cat?
So different from Percy.

I still feel bad for Percy. The shelter was nice about it though, said sometimes things just don’t work out. I asked what will happen to him and they will keep him until he finds another home. If the next adopter brings him back, they will still keep holding him until he finds another home. The attendant said as soon as she put him in the cage he curled up and went to sleep, just relaxed and happy as could be. I was surprised, but she said some cats like being in small areas, it makes them feel secure.

hence their love of boxes and paper bags
I’m glad your new furbaby loves his new home

You could name him Erik, says the nerd.

But it would keep the house warm.

I’m glad that you feel better, peaches. I gotcha covered on the volunteer gig today, you’re good. :stuck_out_tongue:

The quiche was a hit at the brunch (the last one of the season at Dragon Park, we’ll move it indoors until around March or April) and I got [del]covered in drool[/del] kissed by a really sweet bloodhound named Roscoe. Then it was off to Second Harvest to pack backpack bags for food insecure school kids. Once I left there, I made a run to the bakery for scones for my SIL. She’s taking radiation treatments and enjoys a quick visit over a cuppa and a pastry even though she’s not getting out much right now.

I got caught in the traffic from the Vandy/TSU game on the way home, so I said screw cooking tonight and swung through my friend Somphong’s noodle place for some Vegetable delight and a fresh spring roll. Now it’s time to chill.

I had a co-worker who said his brother got foot cramps.

He said they were so powerful that the cramp twisted the foot and his brother suffered a broken ankle a few times.

He did exaggerate from time to time.

What a good kitty! Who’s a good boy? You are!

Here’s one, also from the nerd side. Fafhrd. Or Fritz. Or Leiber.

See there’s this series of books called Fafhrd and the Grey Mouser. Your kitteh comes to mind.

Also, Curran, from the Kate Daniels books, who is a (much) larger grey striped cat with mighty hunting skillz.

I had a grey striped kitty somewhat similar in looks that I named Tarmac, since I rescued him from my driveway. I had a sh*thead of a neighbor who moved and left their indoor cat outside. He was quietly starving, and very sweet. No more capable of living outside than my toddler.

Off to rescue the N.O.T. from boiling over. Drinking Green Flash Le Freak, for those who like the daily report.

Just for some background she lives 3 doors down from my father in law with her husband of over 30 years in an age qualified community. She works under the table as an aide, transferring FIL in and out of bed a few times a week and doing some light housecleaning. She’s got other clients, and he’s got other aides. But FIL is convinced they’re in a relationship, and she’s only married because she’s Mexican, Mexicans are Catholic, Catholics don’t believe in divorce, and not believing in divorce means you can’t be happily married. And she’s nice to him. Or something like that.

The dinner actually worked out surprisingly well. She knew a bit of English and the rest of us were able to combine our bits of Spanish together and with some effort we actually communicated pretty well. She has a real genuine warmth and my kids loved her.

It was her birthday and we were unable to convince him that an iPhone 7 is an inappropriate gift but we were able to appeal to his accounting background and a smartphone service contract is a bottomless financial liability so he backed out of that idea. Out of the frying pan and into the fire he bought her shiny red sheets and had “Feliz Cumpleanos mi Reina” (Happy birthday my queen) written on the cake. :smack: That was really the only awkward point of of the night but it was so thick I’d swear all the air in the room was replaced with jello for 5 or 6 days.

I worked, came home, made dinner. It’s a tad chily out. And the new jacket I ordered won’t get here till Tuesday.

\m/–\m/
And I’m owner #3 for Gordie, so I’m sure Percy will find a home.

I’ve read a few of those.

Emtar,

 Oh. My. Goodness.

I think I would have started drinking early. Very early.

My husband is right now eating a mixture of vanilla yogurt and Count Chocula.

Yes, I am married to a weirdo.

Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Another long day today.

Up. Blurf. Was in bed by 9Pm, and am trying to workup ambition to go get the Sunday paper out of the driveway.

BLT’s are on the menu in a bit.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 47 Amurrkin out and clear with a predicted high of 79 and cloudy for the day. This means wear a light jacket to deheathenization this mornin’ and carry it around afterwards. Or leave it at the church house, the most likely scenario. Plans for today include deheathenization where I am the readin’ kind of Lector, N.O.L. somewhere, probably grab a burger, and sloth.

Emtar ummmm… lovely gift. Glad the dinner went well though.

Ok, I need more caffeine and rumbly tummy wants sustenance. Purtification for deheathenization must also commence at some point.

Happy Sunday Y’all!

Mornin’ all. I, too, am up and caffienating. I was thinking about going up a mountain, but since it’s 38 American Degrees down here in the valley I believe I shall pass. Today would be a good day to rake the yard after a 2 day windstorm.
