So much catching up to do!
Enjoy your cruise, MOOOOOM, party on Ruble, and you too, *Spidey ** (sounds like you earned a drink today!) Sari, I don’t know if it’s any help, but my last cat before my allergies got too awful was Weasel. He arrived pre-named, but it was a good name. And he was a good kitty. My roommate at the time had a cat named Ishtar - also a good name, but a nightmare of a cat! Rockin’, sorry about the gravity - that sucks! Glad you weren’t hurt too badly.
Have been ill for a couple of days - to the point where I lost my phone Wednesday, and didn’t care enough to look for it until today. Missed calls from my mom and my brother… I hope no one’s dead or something! (Seriously, I ignore calls from my mother about half the time. But my brother doesn’t telephone often, so I answer when he does. Also, I like my brother more. Possibly because he doesn’t call all the damned time.)
And Rosie? If it makes you feel better, I’ve blocked several toxic people on social media. Including my mother. I get into enough pointless political debates in real life. I don’t need to be goaded into arguing every time I check Facebook to catch up with my friends and family. (Mostly, I just “unfollow” people, so I can still see new grand babies and kitty pix when I choose, without seeing every tinfoil hat post in my daily feed.)
Big excitement at my house: organizing the pet food drive. Getting ready for homecoming - postponed due to the storm. Girl 2.0’s dress was perfect for an early October evening, but probably needs a wrap for early November. And she broke up with her boyfriend, so the New Date needs a tie to coordinate with the dress. Also, I’m a little discomfitted by the fact that New Date has a full beard. I know he’s barely 17, but he looks 25, and it’s weird.
Cooked pork ribs, baked N.O.T., broccoli, and biscuits for supper. And gotta go back to the grocery store in the morning - those ribs were fantastic, and on a great sale, plus cheese is on a weekend special for $2.00 a pound, and I’m in charge of the macaroni for my niece’s wedding reception Friday. And the big grocery store is discontinuing several frozen food items it seems, so I’ll go again in the morning to see what’s available. I went for milk last night, and came home with a ton of bargains on things that I don’t usually buy - Stouffer’s (healthier) dinners and Pillsbury frozen biscuits for fifty cents, breakfast bowls and burritos for a quarter, etc. If nothing else, I can always send items to feed The Boy and his roommates. Or help restock the food bank. I’m hoping I feel better tomorrow, so I can go stock shelves at the pantry, and maybe help reorganize the clothes closet at the foster family mission.
Big excitement, don’t you know!
