**Sunny **- I love the notion of substituting *fluffy *for the f-word! I shall try to incorporate that into my vocabulary.
Lunch. Dunno if I’ll have enough to keep me occupied thru the afternoon, even if I drag it out. I have 2 piles of stuff remaining, but neither will take very long. So we shall see…
**sari **- get a kitteh - who’s the boss in your household anyway?? Dang uppity kids!
I don’t think I mentioned, but my day started with me breaking a glass. I was emptying the dishwasher and I clipped the edge of a glass on the cabinet when I was putting it away. My aim was off. Heck of a way to start the day.
Four more hours till I can go home and finish packing…
Today is payday and as soon as I finish paying my bills I will be broke again. I did go into my 401K account and moved money into what I hope is a safer place. I am really worried about the market with the upcoming election. I also contributed an extra 1% which is not much and I will not miss it on my paycheck.
I’m going to be a bad boy and skip work today; not call in or anything – just not show up. I warned my manager not to assign me to anything critical but as far as Hell’s Relations are concerned I didn’t say a thing. EVERY TIME I play by their rules and send advance notice to them my UPT gets screwed up and I have to work several hours getting it fixed – off the clock. And I object to doing their job for free. So screw it, since there is no up-side to playing it their way or down-side to just not being there, I ain’t gonna be there.
The reason is that an old high school friend of mine (and the Old Wench’s as well) will be in town for tonight and his ex-wife is having a get-together of old friends and family for him. Someone I’ve kept in touch with but haven’t seen since like 1984. So no Jumgle for me tonight ---- I’m going to PAR-TAY!
FCM that would work if I never asked for his help. But since he does a good bit of the work around here I feel like he should get a voice.
Party on Ruble
Today was parent-teacher conference day, so no school for the sprog and an early conference for me. My only concern is his math grade; he skipped a level in math and his grade hit the shitter. He’s been staying after school one day a week to get the stuff he didn’t get, and his teacher sees him working. He pulled his grade up seven points and she’s confident he’ll be able to pull it up to a passing grade by the end of October.
He and his classmates made plans to meet at Panera. I thought I could just hide in the corner and eat lunch, but no. He insisted that he had a reputation and that I needed to go somewhere else. Fine. I went to the Hamilton, which is a Greek diner downtown. The sidewalks aren’t even and the front wheel of my scooter hit an uneven edge. I fell down and went boom. Fortunately there were people around to help me get up and the worst that happened was a slightly scraped up hand from breaking the fall. After lunch, I went back to Panera and had a brownie. The sprog was not embarrassed in the slightest, only because his classmates didn’t recognize me. Did I mention that he was the only boy in the group?
I’m home, resting. I’m going to continue to rest until whenever. I’m beat.
Howdy Y’all! We et an early dindin of chikin wings, peas 'n carrots, au gratin N.O.T. from a box (don’t judge!), and rolls. ‘Twas tasty and easy to put together. Now it’s chill time for the rest of the evenin’.
TVCTSUE (The Vast Conspiracy to Screw Up Everything) was in full force today.

[li]Got a call while driving, but since I’m on a temporary phone it’s not paired with the car for bluetooth. Cell phone ended up under seat somehow when I thought it was in my bag, in the back of the car. I could hear it ringing but not answer.[/li][li]Left phone in the car when I parked (because I thought it was in my bag), & I needed it today for some Very Important Calls[/li][li]Can’t get my brace until Moanday despite playing phone tag for days, so I’ll be in the boot all weekend. (that was one of the Very Important Calls)[/li][li]Camera battery was somehow not charged (probably got turned on at some point) so could barely take pics.[/li][li]Bus went to wrong location so racers got off in time to not do a warmup.[/li][li]It was very buggy on the race course; much worse when you’re standing there spectating rather than moving.[/li][li]Spent 50+ mins on the phone w/ Tech Support (because they don’t have a manual for their product) & even they don’t know how to do what I want to do, despite it being a feature that was rolled out three versions ago. :smack:[/li][/ul] Ruble, Robyn, others, HersheyPark on Sunday???
No excuses, Rollin’Robyn as I’m in a boot. P.S. Keep the arms in iffn there’s a next time, putting an arm out, while a natual instinct, is a good way to break something.
**FCD **wanted to go to Arby’s for supper. OMG, how much does that place suck??? I got their so-called french dip which allegedly is beef and swiss. Well, Arby’s beef is mostly leather-like and sad, and I don’t know what they were calling swiss, but I sure didn’t see or taste any. I shall go to their website shortly and share my opinion.
Then I have to clean the critters’ water fountain and make sure the cat kibble is full. Except for a few personal items, I think we’re good to go. The cold front has moved in and the breeze has kicked up. I need to figure out what I’m going to wear tomorrow - I don’t know if I have a clean hoodie, but I’ll check. It’s gonna be chilly on deck.
I hope this lump in my gut passes soon. Note to self - avoid Arby’s for-freekin’-eveh!!!
Percy has been returned and we now have… I don’t know yet.
That was a mess, because I went into the cat room to look. Six cats in there, 4 black cats, 1 orange and white, and 1 tiger stripe. I’m partial to black cats but the only one interested was the tiger stripe. The card on the door says his name is Fruit Loop.
So I decide to take Fruit Loop and we get all the paper work done, they run the scanner and it’s not Fruit Loop. More investigating and we find out he is Tigger.
So they have to back out all of Fruit Loop’s paper work, redo it as Tigger’s paper work, and then somebody comes in wanting to adopt Tigger (who is probably Fruit Loop).
Anyway, so I brought home Tigger, but I don’t like that name so for now he is just Kitty.
Totally different from Percy, who ran and hid. This cat has been exploring and is incredibly nosy. He was very fascinated with the vent the mice used to get into - that is a good thing. I don’t know where he is right now. He’s a little skittish, won’t let me pet him, but I think that will change once he gets settled. He was very affectionate in the cat room.
Sah-son isn’t so happy with me right now, but I think this cat may change his mind about cats.
If I don’t see you before you leave, have a safe and fun trip FCM.
TVCTPMO was up bright and early this morning. That is why I’m having a beer on a school night. I earned it, dammit!
Still haven’t voted. I went to the place again today, but there was nowhere to park and a line out the door. Silly me, :smack: I forgot I live in a county full of old people with nothing better to do than stand in line all day.
We got cut loose from irk early today. Not sure why (even grandboss didn’t knoiw), but a few extra hours of weekend will be fine with me. Between cramps and trouble sleeping lately, even the nice callers were starting to get on my nerves. Just wasn’t feeling it today, as some co-irkers would put it.
Now home and enjoying nachos. Rest of the day indeterminate.
OAOASO’s name is Sam.
The cat will not be named Sam.
The cat is trying to figure out the dog. I think he will eventually understand that the dog is blind and not a threat. The dog seems to recognize that there is something else in the house, he stares in the direction of the cat and the cat stares back, but neither seems upset. I’m hoping they will be friends.
rosie, after unfollowing her because of the stoopit, I finally blocked one cousin when she postshit on my page. The funny part was that about a dozen other relatives rebutted her too.
ruble, I think you done flung a foot cramp on me. I hadn’t had one for years, but today, there was one that just wouldn’t go away. Had to break out the good drugs.
rockin’, glad you weren’t hurt too much physically, although your dignity likely took a hit.
spidey, you’re right about not putting your hands out to break a fall. That’s how I broke a wrist when I was a teen.
sari, orange kittehs, IME, really aren’t lap cats, although they’re friendly enough. Have you considered the name Pumpkin for him? And you know the rule: kitteh pics!
Groceries are bought and supper (inspired by FCD, a wing plate) ingested. I’m going to prep the quiche that I’ll take to brunch at Dragon Park tomorrow. I have a volunteer gig at Second Harvest right after that, so I hope that all of it is eaten. After that, I’m headed up to my SIL’s to retreive a lost earring and have coffee.
I’m the one who gets invited to Hersheypark because I watch the bags/kids/whatever while the others go on the scary roller coasters. I’d be up for brunch before the park opens, though.
I think I shall head to the boudoir shortly. Feelin’ tahrd and sleepified for some reason.
MOOOOOOM’s gone. We don’t have to use coasters!
sari yay for new kitty! A friend had an orange and white striped cat. The cat’s name was OK for orange kitty. Another friend had a Tigger. Tigger liked me. He would come and sit patiently by the chair I was sittin’ in until I said “come on Tigger” and would jump up in my lap. However, after a while, Tigger decided he did not have to be so patient. After that it was, “Human brace yourself! Here I come!” He was a biiiiiiiiiiiiiiig kitty.
I worked. There will be company next week ,so now I have that to deal with. Plus borrowed shift is moving next weekend, so I won;t get a three day hockey weekend.
Fruedian typo, since the team mascot is an Ice Hog
I’ve decided the next cat I own will be called Lemmy, if it’s a black cat, or Rassilon, if not.
FCM, Bon Voyage (*OK, folks, lets break out the good stuff…). And isn’t Arbys supposed to Have The Meats? (I am soooo tired of that commercial).
Sari, hope things work out with the new kitty.
Sunny, No ants in your pants, I hope.
spidey, I see you had one of those “So, Mrs. Lincoln, did you enjoy the play?” days.
Boogie Down,ruble, you’ve earned it.
Rockin, be careful, you don’t need another Dr. visit!
Whew.
Got my team registered for the Soccer tournament and they went and fed us to boot (Pot roast, carrots, salad and a big brownie). Got an award for refereeing the most games this season (21). Tomorrow I referee at 8am, 9am and 4pm and coach at 2:15pm. Oh joy. At least the weather is predicted to be in the 60’s.
