A Football Follow-up MMP

In other exciting news, I received a flu shot at Kroger. No two for one or any other specials.

well, we didn’t get into Black Bear last night. Couldn’t even find a parking space, which I imagine frustrated Pogys Subs, the sub shop behind the restaurant. There was no parking around them either and they were empty when we drove by. We went to Thai food instead, and had our usual, Eggplant chicken for her and Pra Ram for me. We had an interesting salad that we’d never had before, though. It was shrimp, lemon grass, cilantro, onions, lettuce, and mint leaves, and the dressing was lime juice, fish sauce, sugar, maybe hot chili oil? (we think) It was really good and we’re going to try to re-create it at home. We’ll see. I’ve been trying for two years to re-create their Tom Ka soup without much success.

Good on ya, Swampy!

That’s all I got.

The famous medical center Kroger now has lemon grass. I have grown taro from their taro root, I wonder if I can grow lemon grass from their product.

Thanks for the good luck wishes!

It looked like pretty much exactly what I hoped for, and though they didn’t exactly say it outright, it sounded like they’d be happy to take me! happy dance
It was so great seeming, I keep looking for the catch…

It’s going to be a bit weird moving away from Bristol though, and it will mean abandoning my allotment (maybe I’ll be able to take the bees, not sure), but seeing as I’d be swapping it for studying Horticulture freakin’ here, I should cope. Plus it’s fairly cheap if time consuming to get between the two places by public transport, especially as the student pass apparently gets you free transport on local busses, which is pretty cool, so coming back to visit friends and suchlike won’t be too hard.

I’ll be writing my formal application tomorrow.
Wish I’d asked for good luck in the staying over though, the place I was planning on staying turned out to be closed (oops, forgot to check, I’ve been there before in late Autumn without booking, but didn’t know they closed for January), and the backup place looked rotten, so I gave up and came home. It was rubbish freezing weather for looking around anyway

Assorted {{hugs}}, yays and pats on back as needed. Brain too full of plans to process much

Yay! Much happiness from here to you!

I’ll say, you’re moving to Hobbiton of the Future!

I give up. Who’s in the Super Bowl?

The Falcons and the Cheatriots.

Howdy Y’all! We et dindin and have been in chill mode. Another excitatin’ evenin’ at da cave. OYKW is on the bed watchin’ teevee. I may join him shortly. 'Tis cool out so a good time to snuggle down under a blanket.

Nuts yay for everything goin’ so good!

That is so very cool!

Tried to go a visitin’ at the horsepistol kinda-in-the-hood this evening since I was told the patient was in the horsepistol; problem is patient is in Horsepistol-North/Alternative campus, some 20 miles away. :smack:

Got lucky (or so I thought) & found a metered spot on the street, less than an hour to go until free parking time. Put in a quarter…& nuffin. Put in a nickel in the hopes that it’ll push the quarter in & I get…3 minutes. Put in another quarter…& nuffin’. There’s a sticker, "to report a defective meter call <800-PISS-OFF> so I call the soulless bastards, but of course, since one needs to read them the meter #, one has to stand out in the cold & windiness. Also, since I didn’t make it past the reception/info/security desk, I didn’t really need to pay for parking in the first place.

Damn ---- missed by one!

I have no idea what goes on in the Princess’s furry head lately.

She’s a lot more vocal lately (and keep in mind she’s a Siamese mix!), including forlorn wails in the middle of the night. She’s also decided on a couple of new preferred perches: the printer or the top of the fridge.

Yes it is! Go Nuts!

Let’s eat Grandma
Let’s eat, Grandma

Okay!

I’m back from cancer clinic. It’s not good. Chemo worked but not enough. I have metastatic cervical cancer with a 5 year survival rate of less than 5%.

Next up is 6 weeks of chemo-radiation and then more scans.

I refuse to die.

:D. Love it.

I had to irk an extra hour :eek:since our POS went down at closing followed by a frantic phone call from HQ. iT dude messed it up and he talked me through fixing it. Had he called 5 minutes later I would have been gone and would have had a nightmare tomorrow. He was very appreciative and readily admitted he made a boo boo.

It all pays the same.

Sorry dotty. The Love It comment was the Go Nuts video. Prayers, good thoughts and healing vibes coming your way.

Well, then, Hotlanta for me.

{{{dotty}}} fuck cancer, if I may so express myself.

(((((Dotty))))) - what Sunny said. Sending healing thoughts and positive vibes your way.

Nuts, that would be just awesome, and I bet the bees would be very much at home there. And you have the prospect of a visit from mooom in the future too. Good luck with the application!

Nothing exciting here, cat knocked over a table lamp about 6am…lamp survived but bulb did not so I had to clear up bits of broken glass-type stuff off the floor first thing. Fortunately I do not have to replace the lamp so that’s a bonus.

I am at irk, troublesome staffer has been told he’s moving on, he’s not happy and is now at home sulking.
