I imagine she is in horrible shape. Having your boyfriend killed in front of you and knowing it is your fault, in addition to whatever issues caused her to threaten suicide in the first place…that is one young lady who is not going to be ok for a long, long time.
One of our community members spoke briefly to her. She seems to be in denial. She told him that she got her foot caught on something on the rail so she couldn’t move, and her boyfriend managed to get her loose but was killed himself. This story doesn’t rhyme with the stories told by several witnesses and doesn’t explain her boyfriend’s cell-phone call to the emergency central about a minute before his death, when he said she was going to commit suicide and asked the police for help.
According to one newspaper, the emergency operator kept talking to him and then heard the screech of train brakes, and then nothing. That’s like something out of a horror movie.
