So I finally texted him today and during the texting phase I asked him why his number was pre written and he said he wrote it quickly as soon as he saw me.

This morning while I was jogging /running outside, a guy that was driving a red Chevy Cobalt roll down his drivers side window and waved at me to get my attention…when stopped the intersection. My first impression was , he was lost and wanted to ask for directions so I went over to him, to see how I can help.

He smiled at me and the first thing he said was “can I give you my number”?I was caught off guard since it was the last thing I expected. Mind you I was excessively sweating from running and didn’t look my best. I said oookkay… and he handed me his number on piece of paper ,It was already written down in advanced which I thought little weird. Presumably he must have noticed me earlier and drove around to find a perfect way to approach me? He then shook my hand ask me for my name…and I asked him his name in return.

He then told me to text him and drove off . I am not sure how to proceed with this,he looked decent and didn’t seemed creepy or anything. I was thinking to text tomorrow and see how it goes

The assumption here is that he’s interested in romance. It might be, this is what he does to meet people and then asks you to coffee and says, “Have you heard the word of the Lord today?” and proceeds to recruit you to the church. Or he is trying to sell you life insurance or join a multiple-level marketing program where you in turn sell some unneeded product to family and friends. Or wants you to invest in penny-stocks and he’s a broker. Or any other number of things.

I don’t think this is a cute story waiting to happen, I think at best it’s a creepy story waiting to happen. Do you really want a guy who’s only interest in you is based on looks and nothing else? He had no imagination to go jogging himself to meet you or ask someone else in the neighborhood about you to have an introduction. He might not even live in the area. He could also just lie. He could be married and has a cell phone his wife doesn’t know about. He rides around with a glovebox full of prepared slips of paper with his number on it and hands it out. You figure if he does this several times a week, after a few months he eventually hooks up with one of these women.

As a guy and I’m not shy, but I wouldn’t do what this guy did. I wouldn’t care if the jogger looked like Jennifer Aniston, I would find another normal way to approach her, because it’s creepy and I certainly wouldn’t want the given jogger to think I was a creep.

Okay, probably not. He probably just likes to hook up and/or say dirty things over texts, but “serial killer” is always in the back of my mind when it comes to people who do things like “try to pick up people who are jogging.”
