A Happy Birthday MMP

Anybody else wonderin’ what kind of cookies gt will make with the contents of her cleaned out fridge?

Hmmmmmm… here’s some meatloaf and broccoli… wonder how meatloaf, broccoli and raisin cookies would taste…

Eek! Late!

Up, caffeinated, getting ready to be deheathanated.

swampy, Lumberton is about an hour drive from here. It would be Yuengling/cold pizza/martini olive cookies here.

FCM, it’s 30 and snowless here. Actually I haven’t seen snow in the two years since I bought a snow shovel.

You best get your revenge any way you can…

Blurf. On a Sunday.

The paper is almost done. I have the “extract” of the paper I’ve got to analyze and my own analysis, but I’m missing the part where I have to analyze how wonderful the bellybutton lint of People Who Have Been Published is. Hopefully none of it will be from infected bellybuttons, which sounds painful.
I’m refusing to write it all terribly serious. Sorry, but given that the paper I’m commenting on mentions Popeye and Bluto among others, I reckon “the student” can occasionally say things like a more polite “Thisguy thinks Theotherguy is a warmongering ass.”
If only “the student” was allowed to quote Heinlein, Pratchett, Dick and Bugs Bunny…

Home from the hospital. Sore, tired, but otherwise in one piece.

gumdrops for Dotty

If you’ll just stand still for a minute so I can aim properly…

Oh, I see you’ve got your ass kicked by stronger (and quicker) powers than me… Oh well. Next time…

That sounds more like Sleepy than like Sneezy…? :dubious:

Send some over here, kthxby!

And let me know when to pick it up – last shipment melted on the way!

Who are you, and what did you do with WhiteRabbit?

One down, four to go…

{{{Dotty}}} – fingers crossed for good results!

**Dotty **- glad it went well. I hope you’re a good patient and you’ll follow the doctor’s instructions *TO THE LETTER! *

Sorry, but I deal with a spouse and inlaws who think they know better than the health professionals who went to school and all that…

Just ordered myself a sewing machine. It got good reviews on line and it appears to come with all the accessories one would want - including a walking foot. So yay! It’s long past time to retire my ancient Viking. It’s so old, it really can’t be repaired any more. I can’t get the parts I need.

I made a humongo pan of rice krispy squares. I wonder if they’ll last till evening??

That’s all I’ve got. for now.

I’m up. Well, actually, I’ve been up about 30 minutes or so. I slept in, but last night was a late night.

I’m glad things went well **Dotty. ** Take care of yourself now and follow the doctor’s orders.

It is coooold and windy out. There isn’t any snow, but it’s still damn cold. The HIGHS will be in the 30s for the coming week.

We had fun celebrating our friend’s birthday last night. Good food, good times, playing a few rounds of 99, and she loved her presents.

We’re supposed to go shopping today for Christmas and my son’s birthday. We’ll see what happens.

I hear you! I have three siblings who are all doctors, so I am well used to doing what I am told when it comes to doctor’s orders!

Dotty glad the surgery went well! Now, do what the doctor says young lady!

doggio your cookie recipe intrigues me. Let us know how they turn out.

I’s stuffded! Brunch was, as always, f-aaaaaa-bu-lous! You can tell it’s an Episcopal brunch when the dessert table includes tiramisu and cheese cake. Oh and the ‘nanner puddin’ got cleaned out. A certain nameless person (hint the decreer of ‘naner puddin’) went to the dessert table first to make sure he got some. Did he bring me any? Why noooooooooo! I got me some anyway. So There Pig! :stuck_out_tongue: That’s what I told him.

We also chose names (well, really listed as sex, ages and gift desired) from the Giving Tree. We chose two boys, one who wanted a basketball and the other a football. We stopped and bought both on the way back to da cave, so that’s done. Easy enough gifts to buy and all that stuff.

Now, I need me a nappy poo.

Later Y’all!

swampy: :p, ya ol’ geezer, you.

Glad things went well, Dotty.

I have: started laundry, pulled out the crisper drawers so that I can wash them. Ground almonds for the next batch of cookies and chopped up fruitcake mix (it’s supposed to be candied citron and orange peel, but I didn’t find any on its own). Pulled out the bourbon ball dough so that I can shape them.

Have completed the heel on sock 2.

Back to the kitchen I go.

GT

gt I read that as “pulled out my crispy drawers so that I can wash them” and thought to myself, “if your drawers are crispy they need to be washed!” :stuck_out_tongue:

And also that “you’ve had a very interesting life lately”.

Happy Sunday, all.

Glad things went okay, Dotty. Sending lots of good thoughts your way.

Looks like a nice sewing machine, Moooooom. Mine is really really basic, so I’ve got serious sewing machine envy going on right now.

I’m making roast chicken with preserved lemons for din-din, so I decided I’d try out a recipe for saffron buns to go on the side, partially because I’m in the mood to bake bread and partially because The Boy had been begging me to try making said buns ever since he saw the recipe.

So guess whose Mega-Huge Supermarket doesn’t carry saffron? Not ever. Not even during the frakkin’ holidays, which is probably the one time of year they probably ought to. GRRRRR.

(They tried to fob me off with “American Saffron” - better known as safflower petals - and blinked at me in confusion when I explained to them that it wasn’t the same thing at all, and that I may as well season my food with sawdust… you can call it “saffron”, but it don’t necessarily make it so)

GRRRRRR.

This same store is always sold out of pine nuts, and has been totally sold out of parsley on more than one occasion. I’ve decided they will be boycotted for a while, because I’m sick and tired of dealing with the fact that they have ten kinds of canned peaches, but can’t manage to carry a single kind of plum tomatoes.

We’re going to the mall. Need to pick up b-day presents for my son, plus we’ll get a little Christmas shopping done.

Poor Taters is gettin’ mauled!

Well, geez Muppet they probably don’t get many people askin’ for plums that taste like tomtoes or tomatoes that taste like plums. Cut 'em some slack!

**Muppet **- I was looking for a fairly simple machine. I don’t do embroidery or quilting. Mostly I do repairs and very uncomplicated items - like the valences I made for my daughter’s classroom windows. Anyway, this one looks like it’ll be just what I want. Heck, my old machine has erratic tension issues and frequent skipped stitches when I zig-zag. I’m excited to have a walking foot, too.

Supper was eaten early - I guess it was more of a Sunday Dinner - chickie, rice-a-roni, corn, peas-n-carrots. Pretty yum. The dishes are done, the critters have been fed, and I finally finished the trim around the last afghan. I need to take care of a few of the loose ends and do a little more detailing, then it’ll be done. Next project is a scarf to go with the hat I made my daughter. That should go fast. I just need to find the hat pattern and see what size needles I used. I think they were #8, since that’s the larger of the short circular needles I have.

Oh, and the krispy squares are very yum. Added bonus - I no longer have 3 partial bags of mini-marshmallows in the pantry.

Off to knit, I think. Laters!!!

I did! For your bday!

Well, that’s not my fault!
Very, very gentle Dotty hugs.
