A Happy Memorial Day Or It's Just Another Moanday MMP

I tried one of those last year but without luck. I should have taken a picture before I yanked out the current crop - maybe another will pop up and I can get a picture then.

Back form Texas Roadhouse. I do love their salmon (yeah, I know, fish at a steak place, but I lurves me some salmon.) Anyway, definitely no need for supper. The rest of the day shall be dedicated to chillage, I think.

Sunny - another HVAC possibility is a mini-split system. We’re about to install one in the outbuilding at our daughter’s house, and there are 3 in FCD’s workshop. They work well, from our experience.

The registration on my '66 MGB expires on the 26th. Rather than renew the tabs, I’ve completed a form to apply for a Collector plate. It’s cheaper than tabs, and never has to be renewed. Also, it’s only required on the back. I can put a replica of my first '66 MGB’s yellow-on-black California plate on the front.

Mom I’ve had pretty good luck with Google Lens for plant ID. It’s a standard app on android.

I can second this. Wifey put a little mini-split in her studio and loves it. It just works, doesn’t take much juice, and is absolutely silent.

Evening all.
{{{Everyone that wants one}}}

Nothing much to report over here. Just got back from walkies, as it’s a nice sunny evening. It’s all very green around here at the moment. Saw some deer and a hare and plenty of wee tweety birdy things.

Once again, the Dope comes thru. I posted a couple of pics of the stinky weed and got an almost instant answer! I love this board!

I will look up a mini-split for the HVAC. Thanks all.

Mooommm what was the stinky weed?

Here’s the thread with a wiki link to the stinky weed.

Howdy Y’all! We deheathenated (didn’t burn the place down, yay me!), had a McN.O.L. (cause we classy), achieved nappage and overall general sloth. It has rained some and hopefully more is on the way. The biiiiiiiiiiiiig trash can has been hauled all the way down to the road for pickup tomorrow. All is well.

Hmm. Question…do I move the AC from the LR to the office so it’ll be quieter near the TV? The rooms are connected by an open doorway, and as it stands now (90 degrees out) the office is fairly comfortable.

mom Good luck with the weed. I’m currently fighting with, well it’s got a lot of names, I’ll go with stickywily cuz it’s funny. This stuff will pull down day lilies. But the stems are so flimsy that you can grab a big bunch and only pull out what is in your hands.

Evening all. Texas Roadhouse decided to give me 4 rolls and being that they were so hospitable, I ate them all, along with my steak, fries and salad. So when dinner time rolled around this evening, I had the choice of fixing a sammich here or going over to the ice cream place and getting a 3-scoop Butter pecan cone…took me all of 2, maybe 3 seconds to decide and the now unfrozen ice cream and pecans are happily being assimilated.

Outside of that and solving a Sunday crossword puzzle (don’t do many crosswords anymore, but decided to do this one), been a fairly slothful day. Moanday shopping is on the agenda, and we’ll see what the rest of the week brings.

FCM, hooray on the identity of the weed. Having read Mike Curtis’s reply (and his dissing the MMP, for which I take Umbrage), you really need to get them in a meal sometime…

Sunny, Nowhere close to 80F and I concur, being out in the summer heat is not a good thing…hope it works out. Can you cut a hole in the garage big enough for a AC unit?

Flyboy, good luck with the Collector application. It sure sounds like a collector’s piece.

Bumba, I looked and there is a Texas Roadhouse in Eugene (only one in the whole state). And while they’re good, 100+ miles is a bit much. I’m sure there are good places not far from you.

BBBoo, could you be thinking of Logan’s Roadhouse? They do the peanut thing, and also have pretty good rolls.

OK, maybe have a Pepsi to mix with the ice cream and create a float in my belly. All y’all take care and I’ll catch you on the next MMP.

Meh. It only has to be 30 years old.

Laundry is being processed, litterbox and dishes pending. I like these new shower curtain hooks a lot better than rings, because I don’t have to stand on the edge of the tub to install them and the curtain. Seems a lot safer to be on the solid floor.

Papa Murphy’s did dinner. DH got Hawaiian, I got the crustless Cowboy and subbed creamy garlic.

Already gloomy about the prospect of Hades Annex tomorrow.

Our Texas Roadhouse will give you peanuts to go if you ask, but they no longer put them on the tables.

I just ordered a couple of maternity sundresses for my daughter because I’m nice, dammit, and because her last pregnancy ran over the winter so she didn’t have summer clothes. I also ordered a pattern so I can make her a dress using the Muppet curtains that used to be in Roxy’s room! That will be fun!

This is the site that someone very astute and trusted by me suggests using when looking for a therapist:

It lets you search by zip codes and many therapists offered will tell you which insurances they take. Sorry that it is such a big hassle, it shouldn’t be this hard but it isn’t your imagination. It is.

Time for Grandma to read Hattie bedtime books.

Thanks so much! This medical stuff gets complicated, all right. I remembered the name of a therapist a friend used, and she does take my insurance, but my insurance doesn’t take her. I could go by the list in the medical providers book my insurance sent me, but there’s no info on what each therapist specializes in, and I’d prefer someone with experience in PTSD, if possible. The site you provided the link to will be very helpful in that regard.

I feel better after talking with my kids.

Happy Harriet-ing!

It was a great wake, got to see friends I haven’t seen since the Pandemic “It’s so Irish we only get together when someone dies” - Roxanne. The band played Finnegan’s wake. Plus good news. the owner of the bar will be opening an Irish pub in Angier, and Annie will be running a B&B in Camlough next year. If you go, tell her I sent you. You may be welcomed with open arms. Or she may wack you with a shillelagh.

Cool!
