Here ya go, folks – a little Monday morning puzzle I put together. Just match up the name with the state.
When putting in an answer, use spoiler boxes please.
Once you figure out the hook, feel free to add other matches if you can find them.
Good luck!

That’s the concept, right?
You’re on the right track.
A: Wayne Newton = 8. Michigan
B: Gary Marshall = 7. Indiana
C: Sharon Osborne = 6. Pennsylvania
D: Owen Wilson =
E: Stephen Tyler = 1. Minnesota or
F: George Washington =
G: Florence Henderson = 2. Kentucky
H: Chelsea Clinton = 5. New York
I: Paris Hilton = 10 Iowa
MissTake, four of those are correct.
Full names should be taken into consideration.
The first thing I thought was that Clinton and Chelsea are both cities in Michigan. And I’m too lazy to look up the rest.
They’ve just about been cleared out, so here’s how it breaks down:
Yes, each name is a combination of two towns in the respective state.
They are:
Wayne and Newton, New Jersey
Gary and Marshall, Indiana
Sharon and Osborne, Pennsylvania
Owen and Wilson, Wisconsin
Stephen and Tyler, Minnisota
George and Washington, Iowa
Florence and Henderson, Kentucky
Chelsea and Clinton, Michigan
Paris and Hilton, New York
The clues veered away from actual celebrity names with respect to Osborne (not Osbourne) and Stephen (not Steven). I couldn’t bring myself to use Allen and Alda, Nebraska.
If we get into fictional characters, Minnisota also gives us Olivia Benson.
Thanks for playing along!
