What is this “trash talk” thing in the title? :dubious:
You get the elevator & I get the shaft? No, I don’t think so! :dubious:
Maybe for a Primanti’s, maybe, or maybe something fun & useful from Da Jungle (Hint: Read the reviews!)
I got Titaniced today! (Icebergs flowing upstream in the current got me pretty good {blood} in today’s Polar Plunge.). But there was HOT Krispy Kremes afterwards; even got enough for breakfast. Want one of your favorites, Mooommm?
Now I’m in a no stop SIGN town. Three bar/restaurants; first one the kitchen was closed by 9pm. Second one, I think it was closed (dining room, separate from bar was empty, & 1/2 the patrons in the bar area had a full set of teeth…collectively!
Gonna measure out some gun powder & then turn in my second unlevel floors accommodations in two weeks; this one has such low clearance that when I go downstairs I can be on the stair & rest my chin on the landing!
Spidey just figured your name would come up at some point?
Speaking of trash; our volume is higher than expected so they posted VET (extra time) and I snagged noon to 3-5ish. Leaves me plenty of time to snag some beer and get ready for the big game when (God willing) the Vikings
WIN!!!
Or not. Heck, I’m not just a Vikings fan – I’ve been one for 50 years. So at a certain point realism sets in.
Holy crap - I actually had an almost normal night’s sleep! I got up once to pee, but it was only 10:30, so it hardly counts. Next conscious moment was at 4:25, five minutes before the alarm was to go off. So, dang, rested! Sorta… it’s still early…
**FCD **is on his way to Indy - actually, Avon. He’s spending tonight with his aunt and he’ll drive to Madison tomorrow. His class starts on Tuesday. Fingers crossed that the weather gods keep the precip at bay till he’s home on Sat or Sun next week. Meanwhile, I’m officially without adult supervision. And there’s cake! Breakfast is served, right?
Higgs will do something similar to Taz and the cat will yowl like he’s dying. Then he gets tired of it, wriggles free, and the game ends. With soggy cat ears… Higgs likes cat ears… Animals are weird…
Thus beginneth my day. I’m going to run the vacuum to clean up the bits of Ziva from the carpet. I need to clean the fountain since I blew it off yesterday, and I need to water the houseplants. I’m going to try to install the new smoke alarms, except for the one in the stairwell - not dumb enough to try that without help. I’m hoping ones in the hall and the family room will use the same screws that hold up the old alarms. Plus there’s the second CO alarm - it should be easy enough to hang on the wall.
The book I had on hold thru the e-library came available yesterday, so I see reading in my future. It should be a full day.
Happy Sunday!
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN 'Tis 40 Amurrkin out and clear with a predicted high of <snerk> 69! <snerk> and N.O.S. for the day. Plans for today are deheathenization followed by N.O.L. at Snake ‘n Shake. Also, the annual Parish meetin’ is today after deheathenization. Hopefully that won’t last more than an hour. We elect three new members to the Vestry and hear reports on stuff. Rah. After all that sloth shall ensue.
Now I need more caffeine and rumbly tummy demands to be fed. Purtification for deheathenization must also be accomplished.
Happy Sunday Y’all!
**FCD **just called to make sure his GPS wasn’t lying when it told him to take I-68 instead of I-70 as he was expecting. I’ve lost track of the number of times he’s called on the road to get directions from me. He has a terrible sense of direction! Once when I was in Florida and he was in Baltimore, he called to ask which way he should be going on the Baltimore Beltway! Well, I used to live there, so I knew where he was, but still…
He cracks me up sometimes!
And on that note, I think I should shower and dress.
Happy Sunday!
It’s a cloudy 41 degrees outside, supposed to get up to 55.
Tomorrow morning is supposed to be warm, then the morning temps take a nosedive into the 20s.
I don’t know what I am going to do today.
I have lots to do and no energy to do it.
Our new kitchen trashcan was delivered yesterday.
It has a lid and is taller than the current one, so I hope it keeps the puppy out.
Maybe we should chill out and just let the dog and cat work it out FCM. I think as Ripple gets older and isn’t so excitable they will play better.
I hope FCD has a safe trip.
I guess I should start with a load of laundry, and some breakfast.
Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Off today. Laundromat, then hockey.
Mystery solved.
A few times I have found food in my back yard. Once it was the top of a hamburger bun that had what appeared to be mayonaisse and hot pepper relish on it. It was near my house and I thought maybe the neighbors threw it over the fence. I was pissed. Then I found a partially eaten hamburger. Ripple found something the other day and ate it before we could stop him.
I couldn’t figure out why anybody would do something like that and I worry some psycho might try to poison my dog.
It’s the squirrels.
They must be raiding somebody’s trash and carrying the food around.
All the more reason to hate the little assholes.
Squirrels suck mightily! They’re the reason I can’t grow 'maters. Damned rodents pick them, eat a couple of bites, then leave the rest to rot on the porch. Furry little assholes!
Two coats of paint on one side of the door and one side of the frame. I’ve got a good fire going to dry them, and in 3 or 4 hours, I’ll go downstairs, flip them over, and paint the other sides.
**FCD **just called from Ohio where I-68 joins I-70. He should get to his aunt’s in about 5 hours, so yay! I hate when he does long drives alone - I know how it was when he and I went to FL and back, and he doesn’t have anyone to switch with this time. At least he sounded wide awake.
Time to read, I think…
Blurfage. I am not furloughed, yet. If this drags on I may be but my budget is out the window anyway due to Irma so we shall see.
Mopping floors. Fun fun.
Friend from Boston coming through tonight on his way to the Marshall Islands. One of my oldest friends, we’ve known each other for 30 years. He was in my Peace Corps group, and we lived in the same province in northern Thailand for two years.
He’ll be glad to be back in the tropics, I’m sure. It’s probably pretty chilly right now in Boston, while here in Honolulu it’s 74 degrees at 8am. It’s just an overnight stop though, a few hours. He flies out for the Marshalls early tomorrow morning. He’s on his way to the Marshalls to go scuba diving at Kwajalein Atoll. Then he’ll go on to Thailand. Like me, he has a Thai wife. Like me, he met his Thai wife, ironically, in the US. Unlike my wife though, his was already a US citizen when they met. She was a schoolteacher in the Boston system and is retired now. She won’t be making this trip with him though.
They’re voting at 1 am Butters. Hopefully this stops before it gets any further.
So far, I am up, drinking coffee, listening to the wind roar outside, and reading the Dope. Sunday here we are.
Dinner was provided by Cracker Barrel and now I am awaiting the start of the tackleball games. Almost hit 70F today, so at least my gas bill won’t be taking such a hit. Second of a projected 4 loads of laundry is finishing up now.
FCM, I don’t think I-68 is in Ohio; But if he’s on I70W, he just needs to keep on going that way.
Sari, glad the mystery was sol…squirrel!!
Onions and beef simmering in the slo cooker for din din. Went to the barn to drop off supplements, ended up riding and chatting for 3 hours. It was scary driving home through the dense fog. Lots of idiots driving without the lights on. Now I’m watching the RuPaul’s Drag Race weekend marathon. Took down the tree.
**MetalMouse **- I-68 goes across the Merrylande panhandle, thru the mountains of West VA, then to I-70 in Ohio. It’s actually a shorter route than taking 70 all the way. Tho by now, he’s probably off 70 and on whatever route will take him to Avon, IN. He’s supposed to reach his aunt’s by 4 or so - 15-ish minutes?
Painting is done, sorta. I noticed the paint can says Semi-Matte, not Semi-Gloss. All the other doors are semi-gloss, ergo, this one will get a final coat in the correct paint. Maybe on Tuesday. I’m done for today.
Time to read some more. Not sure what I’ll do for supper. Lunch was a bowl of corn chex. I should eat some real food, I suppose.
Supper was pasta with broccoli, so sorta real food. I may have an apple later. Maybe.
My sweetie got to his aunt’s house a little after 4, so he’ll have time to visit with them before he crashes for the night. His drive tomorrow shouldn’t be too bad - between 5 & 6 hours to Madison, so he doesn’t have to leave stupid early in the morning. Plus he gains an hour along the way. Just hope traffic doesn’t suck too bad around Chicago.
Meanwhile, my first day sans supervision is winding down. I’m going to read for a bit longer, then maybe crochet and watch TV till bed time. I’m such a wild woman…
Mopped floor and did tons of laundry. Changed the bed. Ready to shower and retire. I have not been sleeping very good so I hope to get to sleep early.
We are in the market for a new living room set but whatever we get will be scratched up by the cat so I am leaning toward cheap until we are catless then we will get leather. Dang cat.
Sorry to see the weekend wind down. I could use another day off.
I had coffee with the freethinkers this morning, popped into the craft sto’ and Goodwill before coming home to take Nelson to the dog park. Fixed pan seared cod with cherry tomato-white wine sauce and roasted green beans with mushrooms for supper, but fear that I should have made a pot of rice to go with. I turned TV on, went to change the channel and pit a button on the remote that sent everything fubar and now I cant do anything to fix it. I’m waiting on a call back from a guy that I get to do tech stuff every now and then. I’ll also stop and use my Tar-jay gift cards tomorrow for a new remote incase that’s the issue.
Looks like some cheesesteaks and pretzels in my future. Oh well ------- I guess I’ll survive.
