**red **- I used to have a cubicle neighbor who was very fond of some kind of scent - I often had headaches. Then when I started at my current job, I briefly shared an office with a woman who had a plugged in air freshener that was awful. Luckily, she and her stink are gone!
Worked, got all the Christmas packed up. There was much rejoicing. Having some whiskey before dinner.
I’m hoping for a Jags/Eagles LII. As a Cheesehead, I could never pull for the Viqueens, and the Chetriots have won enough.
As far as favorite teams:
- Carolina Hurricanes
- Green Bay Packers
- Scuderia Ferrari
Howdy Y’all! Home from men’s night over to the church house. ‘Twas a good time as usual. OYKW takes off for a meetin’ in Etlanner tomorrow mornin’ until Firday afternoon. I shall be sans adult supervision. I may go wild and do laundry and/or iron shirts! The mischief knows no bounds!
Didn’t know there was so much interest in my Jimmy John’s fix (for the record, it’s a #7 with chips and a large coke (with one refill as I’m heading out the door)).
Wet one, I respect what you are doing, but I think I’ll keep eating there because it’s good and I look at it as supporting the folks who are working there.
Red, one of the reasons I stopped going to Subway was the bread-meat ratio. I don’t pretend JJ’s is a lot better, but the bread is more tasty (IMHO) and I get meat in every bite.
Spidey, You can get a fair variety, but I am a LTM (lettuce tomato and mayo) guy and don’t worry about all the fancy stuff.
And now that my lunch has been thoroughly dissected, I have shaved, bathed and trimmed my beard so that I am presentable in society, should society suddenly show up at my door.
Outside of that, I am realizing that bookmarking Web Sudoku may have been an error in terms of getting any useful work done…
I have a similar agreement with sports: you ignore me, I ignore you, and we’re both content.
Calls were slow today and callers unusually civilized. Odd item: I’m sadly monolingual, but I kept getting calls for the Spanish queue, which required me to make use of our interpreter service. Meanwhile, a quite nice bilingual (I’ve heard him speak both English and Spanish, can’t say about any other linguistic skills he might possess) guy sitting near me only got English calls. This was casually mentioned to a sup.
Maybe ----- but I am so tired from irk tonight that I’ll just go with the flow.
I of course want to see the VIKINGS!!! but I was really hoping for it to be a Steelers vs Vikings rematch with the Purple People Eaters coming out on top.
My favorite sports team, although I haven’t been to a match in ages, is the Pittsburgh Rugby Football Club. They have had some fantastic players over the years, some who have gone on to play for the US team, and I did a few seasons in the carefree days of my youth.
College level the Fighting Ollies of St Olaf of course but I think I’ve admitted that here before.
If it wasn’t for the Vikings I would be pulling for the Pats. After all how many teams pack around explosives for their fans and encourage .75 caliber muskets being shot off regularly?
Most things with that degree of coolness can be cleared up with a course of antibiotics.
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 29 Amurrkin out and clear with a predicted high of 60 and mostly N.O.S. for the day. Tomorrow’s high will be 39. Weather by Sybil indeed! OYKW leaves for Etlanner this mornin’ so I shall be minus supervision for a few days. I shall go wild and do laundry this mornin’. I may even nap and read this afternoon. Hope nobody calls the cops on me.
Now I need more caffeine and rumbly tummy wants to be fed. Then, well, I shall launder with wild abandon!
Happy Tuesday Y’all!
I’m having one of those days when I can’t concentrate at all. If I could I’d just declare it a non-working day and go for a long walk. Maybe part of the problem is that it’s cold but gorgeous out, and we work in a room with more fluorescent tubes than people.
Y’all have fun, don’t work too hard.
Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Off to work. The water heater is out, so it’s 65 in the apartment, and I had to take an ice shower this morning.
Evil white stuff is threatened for this evening and overnight, but our area isn’t supposed to get more than maybe half an inch - just enough to be slippery and dangerous for idiot drivers and those around them.
We’re meeting with an accountant this afternoon to set things up for FCD’s business and so I can understand what I need to know to do our taxes. We’re thinking they should do our taxes this year because of all the machinery he bought - it may be money well-spent.
Other than that, I’ve got a pile of drawings to straighten out. I have to work off a different server and the program comes up wonky. Luckily, one of my coworkers used to be on that server, so maybe he can help me get it set up correctly. Fingers crossed.
**swampy **without adult supervision?? Do I see ice cream for supper?!?!
Onward into the day! Happy Tuesday!
Happy Toosday!
Can we all say DAMN CAT?!
He’s been pushing my buttons lately what with waking me in the middle of the night. Last night I caught him using the basement door as a scratching post.
The brat also will stand right next to his scratching post and use the couch, looking at me the whole time like what you gonna do about it.
I know he wants attention, but I think he wants to go outside even more.
It’s 27 degrees outside, and dark, and a possibility of snow.
The temps are supposed to dip tomorrow, then start warming up into the 40s on Thorsday, and will be in the 50s over the weekend.
We’re going to pick up groceries today. I hope it isn’t snowing while we are out. I doubt it will be more than flurries anyway.
I have two orders to pick up because I was up late and worked on my order then. This morning I remembered some stuff I forgot and for whatever reason the site wouldn’t let me change the previous order and so I made a second one this morning.
Other than that nothing else on the agenda except irk.
The furnace people called yesterday to reschedule our inspection from tomorrow until Feb. Works for me, I only get the inspection because a free annual inspection is included in the contract. This is the fourth rescheduling. I have heat and I am cool with them taking care of the people who don’t first. At this rate though, perhaps I can get the free AC inspection done at the same time.
Blurf. Had a bad dream about running to catch an airplane and woke up just before 0600. Tried to get back to sleep but my kidneys raised and objection, so up it is.
26F today and in the teens tomorrow, before it starts heating up again (60F predicted by the weekend). We may get a half-inch of snow, which qualifies in N. Ali-bama as a disaster, so probably will not get on the road today.
 We have a WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY. Perhaps I should go and buy all the aigs, bread, milk and tp at every store in a twenty-five mile radius of da cave! We’re doomed! DOOMED, I say! Or not.
Well, swampy, it was nice knowing you. How sad you’ll die due to flurries and windchill…
Be a rebel - buy ice cream, pretzels, creamed corn, and zip lock bags!!!
BYE SWAMPY
Irking as usual. Not much happening here. Just another manic Monday.
It isn’t Moanday. Someone just reminded me.
Normally I shop for groceries on Wednesday bein’ as that is geezer day at the Pubic sto’. I have a list made up already and I think I’ll go today. If’n it does get wintery out tomorrow I shan’t go out in the cray cray.
The weather reports from others above made me look out the door and yep; there is snow on the ground in N. Ali-bama. Not much of it, (in Ohio, where I lived my first 27 years, it would be called a ‘light dusting’) but I expect schools to close early all around the county (in fact, they all closed up before the snow even arrived). In fairness, there are a lot of hills around here and without any effective treatment, school buses and driving would be a nightmare, but I may go out anyway just to see, given I learned to drive in Northern winters.
