A little wager (& some trash talk) in the MMP

Ursala Kitteh has not slept with me the last 2 nights. I miss her little heft next to me, but I sure slept better without her squawking every time I moved. It’s 16F, sunny but windy, projected to get to 30F. In the 40s over the weekend. Heat wave!

We’re having a heat wave — like 20 degrees out there now. We may go 5 nights in a row without having to think about our pipes. This weekend, potholes or not, the Sportie may have to come out of the garage at least for a few circles around the 'hood.

LUNCHTIIME!

That is all.

Took Gordie for a walk. He kept sticking his head in the snowbanks, like a fuzzy Tony Montana. It’s 23 American degrees here(wish it was 23 in foreign degrees).

At this point, I don’t think he knows what Windows 10 is.

At this point, I don’t think said grandbaby knows what windows are, regardless of the number. But according to my daughter, the kid can kick!

Bright and N.O.S. out but cold with the wind chill. I rearranged the spice cabinet this mornin’. Got rid of some old stuff and it’s not as willy-nilly now as it was. That should make doggio happy.

The first computer I ran into was the first computerized ticketing system in the wild, we were told. I had standing orders that if the lights flickered, I was to dive down the stairs out of the projection booth, run to the office and type a command to restart the computer.
“Boot W”
No UPS, and could not start from its hard drive. No MS-DOS, it was running CPM…

Lucky.

This day is turning into a headache.

{{{{Swampy}}}} I’m so sorry for your loss.
We ARE the older generation now.
I have one aunt still, my dad’s sister, who’s in her 90s. My Mom and Dad are gone. Both my (younger) brothers are gone. Many of my cousins are gone. It sucks.

I can’t even remember what the first computer I worked on (for actual money) was called. I do remember laying on the floor and flipping switched and pushing the ‘enter’ button to boot it up, and loading programs into it from paper tape.
How far we have come.
How much farther we could have come by now if it wasn’t for Microsquash.

I’m being mugged by a mini-schnauzer who’s bored and wants to go outside, where it’s 46F and rainy.

Later

I took two short little drives yesterday. The doctor said I couldb, and by nighttime my back was yelling at me in very nasty ways. Today I am recovering, but my back is still not happy. Sigh.

Home - helluva day! No clue what we’ll do for supper. I don’t feel like cooking and I don’t wanna go anywhere. Maybe an egg sammich?

We supped upon beast stew and corn bread again. 'Twas good and there’s ice cream!

MOOOOOOM pizza!

There is no way that cannot be a long o.

My supper was a bowl of corn chex followed by crackers with almond butter. meh.

I’m afghaning now.

{{ Sari & Sunny}}; just cause it sounds like you could use them.

Had a mid-day meal (about 3PM) at 5 Guys (my once-a-month visit) so not hungry now that dinner time is upon me; may snack something before bedtime. The temperature is back at freezing, but warmer weather is coming.

swampy, did you arrange your spice rack alphabetically? Otherwise, doggio could fall out with the vapors.

I’m think I’m gonna like being fully staffed at irk again. I actually have the opportunity to irk on some of my ongoing projects. It got above freezing this afternoon, so we don’t have much snow left. I’m thinking the dog park this weekend to give Nelson a workout.

As I was walking from the driveway to the house this afternoon, a small rat leapt off the roof and bounced a couple of times on the lawn. He scampered over to the front door, and finding no admittance, fled to the West.

An equaling puzzling item from last night. I was watching an episode of Wagon Train, and as Our Heroes rode down the mountain to warn the soldiers that about a million Indians had laid an ambush for them, I saw a mountain monogram. Apparently it is common to have huge concrete letters on mountains and hills in California. It must have been some nefarious Indian ploy.

Even the rats ding-dong-ditch Flytrap!
Ha-ha.

Had to go to work today. But at least the ice on the main roads melted
