is that who’s impersonating Ann Landers’ sister these day?
your snarks aside - I am dying to know why they won’t let him get a hair cut.

Well, that’s an interesting engagement, Muppet. I’m thinking it’s unlikely to work out, but…you never know.
Sounds like a sensible plan, Haze. Good on both of you.
Yay on finding the officiant! And a possible job. Sounds promising all around.
Both meatball recipes sound yum.
Also, I’m tempted to make the easy cake as there are some wonderful strawberries right now.
There’s no one up after FCM, so I’ll go ahead and add you in for the 26th, BioTigs. Since Pie and I are meeting next weekend and I’m working at a plant sale and I haven’t done one in about 500 years, I thought I’d take next week’s (May 5). This leaves May 12 and 19 unspoken for. In case anyone’s interested. Hint hint.
I’m watching the newer Pride and Prejudice. I didn’t like it the first time I saw it, but it grows on you. It also has the advantage of being watchable in a single sitting.
Look, it’s my Cincinnati Flower Show pictures. They’re a bit scrambled, but I think some of them turned out quite nicely. Does anyone know if there’s a way to reorder pics on Photobucket?
Apparently it’s a day for all Mumpers to be tahred, cuz me too.
My friends and I went plant scouting to 3 different nurseries. Well…really only one of them was an actual scouting destination. It was pronounced good enough (it’s our secondary destination). We bought some very nice plants at our first stop (a smaller specialty nursery that doesn’t do well as a large-group destination). My friends bought a couple of other plants at the later stops, but I was good and held out. My favorite is a coleus called Religious Rutabaga. It’s very pretty.
After I came home, I did a bunch of weeding. I hate dandelions. Also went for ice cream (one small scoop Lime Cardamom and one Mango Lassi) and for a short walk where I took a few neighborhood pictures. The redbuds look beautiful. I also took some more pictures of my crabapples since they look spectacular and it’s supposed to be cold and rainy the next couple of days. They also smell just lovely.
I thought about going out to get repair stuff for the front steps, but decided it was time to just kick back.
Might be back later…if not, I’ll see everyone in the next MMP…

muppet - l’il sis and beau need to take a trip together. The true test of a relationship is if they can spend a week together in a two star hotel and not end up hating each other.
::honk honk::
I have a hell of a tale and a couple recipes for tomorrow…
::vroom::
Awww. She just wanted to get tarted up a bit! ![]()
Geez there is a LOT going on here this week.
Me? I’m just tired (and slightly still hungover).
Mean Girls was fun. Now I’m watching Searching for Bobby Fisher–a great movie.
Netflix wouldn’t get me Ever After today, plus I go through periods of no movies at all. I just don’t think Netflix would work for me.
It’s nice to not have to read/write stuff for grad school all the time now. Tomorrow is my last class!
I didn’t read the newer posts. Sorry!
Pie, she’s adorable. Looks like she’s got a fair bit of schnauzer in her in those pix, tho it’s hard to tell.
rosie, I agree on the trip. They’re the best relationship-tester I know of, along with spending a long weekend with the SO’s family and getting drunk together at least once (well, that and buying a house… but you shouldn’t try that one out until you’ve tried a few other tests first).
Right now, I’m going to suck it up, put on a smily face and congratulate her on the good news. However, I will make it clear that I fully expect to be introduced to Mr Wonderful before they tie the knot… Chances are, he’s probably just as wonderful as she says he is, but it would give me a lot more peace of mind if I actually had exchanged a word or two with the guy and looked him in the eye - so far, all I know of him is the dude with his arm around my sister in her Facebook profile pic.
I mostly need to see for myself that she’s doing this for the right reasons, and not just because he looks good, says the right things and came along at the right time for the “find husband” task on her life plan. We don’t have a good track record in my family, that’s all.
I love that guilty-innocent look dogs do so well. “I’m in trouble, aren’t I?”
Speaking of dogs, I saw what whippets look like today. Suspicious innocence in-deed.
Hmm movies… I’m actually going to watch Extreme Makeover Home Edition tonight. It’s the one thing I almost always watch. Tomorrow night Mom and I might watch Convoy though.
What, people can’t watch a movie for five hours straight? (Actually, I watched Children of Dune in one sitting, spent the whole night cuddling on the couch and watching the show… 6 hours! I’ve also watched Merlin in one sitting…)
Velociraptor just yelled at me up the stairs that Ty is on. We let him watch it too, but only for a little while because the end of it is well past his bedtime…
My kid may say they know rasslin’ is fake, but they sure sound like they believe it’s a real event.
I hope they find something else to amuse them once they move in with us… like juggling flaming sabres.
Hey, it may be fake, but it’s a lot of fun! I haven’t done a PPV in years though.
I want to take May 19th, I’ll show pictures of my brother’s commissioning ceremony. I got my dress this weekend, but I can’t find it online to link to it. It’s a two piece floral thing, with pretty slit things at the bottom. I still have to find shoes and a bag, but the bling is gonna be my Mom’s pearls - gotta represent the Mom! She would have been so proud.
I’m tahred. I flipped a coin with Mr Rebo - he mowed the back yard, I picked up dog poop.
My job was easier, but more disgusting. I swear we must own at least one horse.)
Well - gonna surf a bit, then get my tahred ass into bed. Freakin’ Monday is tomorrow. <sigh> Here we go again…
Well, according to one of the rasslin’ guests, the “primary rule” of the Navy is if you do the *nukular * stuff, you have to go outside during the day.
WTF?!?
I always find it interesting how people who’ve never served a day in uniform are such authorities on how screwed up the military is.
What does that even mean? If anything “nukular” happens, I want to be in a bunker, not outside.
People are weird.
Jesus–my brother just called. He is changing #1 son’s trip to Oz AGAIN.
At this point, I am fed up with the changes and would be happy if he never saw the damned Antipodes. And it’s not even to see Aus–it’s to spend more time in L.A.
He wants this to be the trip of a lifetime for #1 son. If I hear that phrase one more time, I’ll puke. Certainly it’ll be nice and all, but for all we know, #1 son would prefer Canada or Nebraska. He has a job and he has finals and he needs to get his driver’s license–this is a huge distraction for him right now because now he HAS to get scuba lessons so they can dive the Great Barrier Reef. He has no time for scuba, as he is working every weekend, plus studying for his honors classes. Grrrrrr.
What’s next–hookers and blow?*How much more “fun” can be crammed into one trip?
*yeah-so that sounds ungrateful and churlish–so what. This is about the 6th time this trip has been delayed/changed/itinerary altered. We are NOT made of money (an inheritance is paying for this trip–the same inheritance that will fund most of college for #1 son). Bro has money and time on his hands (he’s self-employed in real estate), so of course, everyone must have the same as he does!

And I did try to talk to my brother about this and in typical my family fashion, that led to him not speaking to me for 2 months. Can you say pigheaded? (I might not have been super tactful on the phone, but seriously, Bro does not get it. The Husband has taken over these talks, because Bro doesn’t listen to Little Sis–apparently I am still 12)
I want to beat my head against a wall. Better yet–beat his head.
