Dry creek bed is done–I need one more bag of pond pebbles. My back is killing me. I also did some weeding. I should probably take some pics of all this stuff, so you all can see how I spend my time.
I came in and made risotto because I was starving. Now I’m all clean and warm and sleepy…
I’m thinking of just watching movies. I’m too tired to even go to the video store, so it’ll have to be from my own small collection here.
I’ll post the recipe for the risotto another time. Glad you made it ok, FCM–please go back 2 pages now and READ.
How embarassing!
I returned a two disk movie to the library and forgot the second disk. They found me browsing around and asked if I had returned it. She said it was okay, it happens all the time but I still felt embarassed!
So back to the library again, this time with all the disks.
Ohh yes Rigs! I keep wanting to try and make risotto… one of these weekends I will.
Just wanted to share that #2 son is upstairs, playing Legos. He’s in the midst of a battle of his Legos and I keep hearing dying screams and shrieks, along with thuds and the bed creaking. Now and again I can hear him cry out stuff like, “You die now!” and “augh!”
it is too funny.
Hello, everyone - I’m tired as all hell, and I but skimmed the posts from yesterday and today, so forgive me. I had a bit of a breakdown yesterday and Mr Cheerio and his girlfriend very kindly insisted I spend the night with them, which did me good, and then this afternoon That Guy came over and we talked for a bit, and I told him that I’m afraid he’s going to change his mind and get back together with Victorian Heroine while I’m gone, and he said he’s afraid I’m going to regret marrying him because he’s never going to be more than a poor philosophy professor.
Anyway, we both agreed that we need more time, so what I think we’re going to do is file a fiancee visa application right after I leave - that takes about 4-6 months to process. By the time it comes through it’ll be December, about, and then, IF we’re both sure about this, I’ll return with him to the US and we’ll get married. That gives us time to cool our heads and make sure both us are certain about what we want to do, I think.
Of course, there are still two months until I leave, so knowing how ridiculous my life is who knows what will happen in the meantime. :smack:
Hope everyone is enjoying the end of their weekend.
At least you’re talking and it sounds like you’re being honest with one another–both of those are good signs. One day a time, my dear.
Now, should I watch Harry Potter or LOTR (don’t feel really Middle Earthy today) or something else (Bridget Jones, Amelie, Mean Girls or ________?
I’m in the mood for a chick flick. Personally I’m watching Ever After tonight.
<whines> but I don’t own that one. I’m too tired to go to the store. Now I wanna watch that one, too<whines>
Well you could always come over to the north side.
I feel dehydrated. I want a glass of juice yet the effort involved in going down to the corner store presents itself as daunting. Woe is me. Woe, I say!
<glares northward with evil scowl on face> I just called my local video store–they don’t carry Ever After any more! This is all YOUR fault, Missy.
[grumbles] when does she go back to Korea? Not soon enough. Coming in here, getting people all excited about watching a good movie and then that doesn’t work. Damned immigrants… taking our jobs AND OUR MEN and our movies…[/grumbles]
I suppose I could watch Princess Bride. <sigh>
Watch Mean Girls rigs. It’s mindless enough you don’t have to think while watchin’ which makes for a good movie when one is tired. Or tahred even.
I feel like I wanna go to bed but it’s only a quarter of seven right now. Too early. I wanna though. It’s all cloudy out so I’m hopin’ for rain tonight and tomorrow.
MOOOOOOM be sure and keep us updated on the weddin’ officiant crisis. Surely there is an available local Notary?
ETA: Princess Bride is good and mindless watchin’ too.
Mwahaha.
I’d watch Stardust, actually, if my brother hadn’t forgotten to return my DVD. :: grumble ::
See? those furriners aren’t even loyal to each other!
Mean Girls it is. I watched Saved last week–I love that movie.
I’m with you, swampy. I’m about to get into my jammies. I dont’ care anymore–I’s more tahred than yer average bear.
It occurs to me that I should take the MMP for May 26 – that’s right after our trip to Idaho to take snowbunny her stuff. I’ll have photographs and everything.
GT, want to put me down for then? Or if it’s already taken, for the week after that?
Is it bedtime yet?
We just threw out a whole bunch of paper (old notes, essays from college, random stuff) today. It feels great.
Mom, let us know about the officiant resolution.
Mahna, have you ever been to El Sol, on the Danforth near Woodbine? They have great, great food. Absolutely awful service, but great food.

Sounds like a good Sunday to me. It’s a little stormy now. I am having pasta, but I need to run and get some first. :smack:
Sounds like a good plan, Haze, and if he doesn’t work out, you can always beat him with spaz’s clue by four.
Rebo, that’s sounds like my meatballs, except I put a splash or vermouth into them. And into my martini, too.
FCM, at this rate, the wedding won’t even have the original bride and groom when it occurs.
Ima go lie in da bed and watch teevee. I just need horizontalness.
Nitey Nite Y’all!
Gah. Mumsy just phoned to announce that Little Sister is engaged.
The thing is, Little Sis has known her fiance for less than a year… they met last summer whilst backpacking in England, exchanged emails for a few months and then officially started dating in the fall.
The added complication is that he lives in Idaho, which means that 80% of their relationship, by necessity, has occurred over the phone and email. They’re madly in love (who isn’t, when it’s only 6 months into the relationship), but they’ve had less than 6 weeks face to face thus far. Plus his family is devoutly Mormon, so while they may be accepting of a GF who is adamantly atheist, I’m not so sure they’d feel the same about that same girl becoming their daughter-in-law and mother to their future grandkids.
She has said that the engagement is conditional upon both of them finding work in the same place after they finish graduate studies in a year and that the wedding would only take place once they’re settled in… but I can’t help but wonder why the rush to get a ring on her finger so soon, if that’s the case. Meh. Her life, not mine.
Who knew my sister the black sheep rebel would end up going down such a traditional path, whereas I took the post-traditional scenic route? Life’s funny sometimes.
And speaking of traditional fairy-tale endings, WTF kind of video store doesn’t carry a copy of Ever After? It’s heresy, I tell ya.
ETA: LiLi, we have heard many good things about El Slo (misspelling entirely intentional) but every time we think of going there, we can’t afford to dally for an entire evening. Friends of ours once arrived at a party nearly 2 hrs late because they’d made the mistake of going there for dinner beforehand.
Recipe blog has been updated. And **Swampy ** I just copy and paste the recipes, I think they are hilarous! Love the creativeness in them.
That’s all I got.
The officiant has been found. So yay! Future SIL brought the news when he came in from work.
Plus I found a job listing in our county that sounds like it might be right up his alley - he’s going to put together his resume tomorrow and send it off.
I’m hiding in my room with the kitteh while the rest of them do the WWE PPV thing.
**rigs ** - I’d already read the whole thread before I posted. I was just too pooped to try to make any coherent additions, as if I could have added anything anyway…
I should probably come up with a new MMP, ya think? I mean, since I volunteered and all. Lotta pressure there to be clever and stuff. Can she do it? Tune in later and see. Yup, I might just get it posted tonight because we need to leave at 7 tomorrow to get the Beetle into the shop for its pre-trip check and fix.
Oh, the pressure… <insert dramatic music here>
**Rigs, **sounds like a job for Netflix!
Seriously, if you don’t have this you should because you will never go back to renting from a store again. Something like 90K titles, and a really hefty section of instant watch stuff for when you don’t wanna wait for something that’s in your queue.
I’ve had Netflix over four years and I love it. Cannot recommend too highly.
Damn, my ass is grown to this couch, I swear! Installing stuff makes me fat…
