A May 30 MMP

Buddy was apparently not done sleeping, just wanted company. He’s currently snoozing lap velcro, after a quick snack.

He’s going to get beds figured out in no time at all!

GG just accidentally pulled my stitching room door open. I was so proud of him for managing to do such a thing that I started showering him with praise. So much so that GG forgot why he wanted the door open and attacked the middle hinge on the linen closet. He gets along with the top and bottom hinges, that middle one is just too shifty for GG.

Honestly LOL for GG and the hinge saga.

shoe Good on you for leaving. Hope the new place works out better.

Cute kitteh overload!!!

Buddy decided he did need to go outside for a while, after hanging out with us all day (DH is sure it was over 12 hours). I’ll be surprised if we don’t see him again tonight as well.

He came back in less than 15 minutes after departure and is currently curled up on the bed with DH. I think he’s settling in.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis < snerk > 69! < snerk > Amurrkin out and clear with a predicted high of 91 and N.O.S. for the day. The big item on today’s agenda is deheathenization followed by first Sunday brunch. Today is Pentecost, so we shall wear red (N.O.R.). I shall bake the Couch Chikin in a little while so it can have time to cool down enough to handle ridin’ it over to the church house where it can then go in the convection oven in the kitchen to stay warm. Beyond that, I foresee much sloth and nappage. It may rain later this afternoon which would be a good thing.

JtC I am so glad to know that GG will protect you and Mr. JtC from the evil middle hinge.

Nettie yep, Buddy has found him a home.

Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then, purtification for deheathenization must commence.

Happy Sunday Y’all! A Blessed Pentecost to those who observe.

A brisk 59° t start the day. Critters have been tended and I’ve got the ice maker going because I forgot to run it last night. We’ll be heading to the marina at some point - FCD needs to figure out why the bilge pump quit working. It might just be a fuse, but it might be a dead pump. Regardless, it’s in a tough-to-access area and all I can do to help is hand him tools. So we’ll see how that goes.

Meanwhile, caffeination!

Happy Sunday!

Grump. Up around 6:15am again, the internal button that lets me sleep until 9am or so seems like it’s broken, because I am getting up way earlier than I want to. Just have to avoid nappage today, I guess. 64F heading for 85F so another nice day. Pills and paper are in their appropriate places.

Swampy, enjoy both Church and Chicken.

And now…

Morning, mumpers! It’s 10c/50f outside and the weather app says “At least you won’t freeze to death when you lock yourself outside in your fucking underwear!” And it’s cloudy too, looks like rain so might be a bumpy ride home.

Wheelie cute kittehs! I had a gorgeous red tabby girl, a proper marmalade cat. She was a real character. Those little kits will be very popular.

shoe yay for quitting and getting a better job! Sounds like a goodove if there was mass quitting once you started it.

metalmouse sorry to hear about the birdies, hopefully you will get new feathered friends soon.

Good morning y’all!

Up, caffeinating, breakfasted and some chicken in the crock for this evening’s chicken tom ka gai soup. Last weekend’s purchase of some good lemongrass and a good buy on coconut milk was the inspiration. I’ll fix a cucumber salad to go with and supper will be mostly made.

Nothing much on the agenda today but the usual Sunday chores and KP.

Stay safe and healthy y’all!

Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Off today. I shall do the usual chores after coffee. There’s a skeeter buzzing around me in a confused manner. Apparently rum and Sichuan peppercorns make you unpalatable to bloodsucking insects. :hot_pepper: :tropical_drink:

Unless you’re a (Hannibal) lector today. :open_mouth:

Or both at once.

Cute kitty, Wheelie.

Good morning.

It’s currently 59 degrees, partly cloudy and wet outside. Supposedly, heavy rain is supposed to be moving in within the next half hour or so.

Yesterday the rain held off until evening, so I went outside and did some weeding and general yard tidying.

I also found a sugar ant infestation and they seemed to be coming up from behind the baseboard. Bastages. I doused the area with a mixture of vinegar, water and a touch of Dawn and that seemed to stop them for a good bit. Last night, I hit the same area with Windex and that kept them at bay. Today, I noted a couple, so I hit that area again with vinegar, Dawn and warm water. If I see them coming back, I’ll have to head to Lowes for something else. Usually, the vinegar thing works.

Other than a possible trip to Lowes and laundry, I don’t have any plans for the day. I should fuel up the Jeep today too, so I’m not trying to get it done on my commute tomorrow. It’s sitting at around half a tank and I don’t like to let it get lower than that with today’s gas prices.

Wowzers on quitting the job, shoe! I hope something better is just around the corner for you.

Well, I suppose I should get that kitchen cleaned up. It’s not going to clean itself.

Of course. It’s Trash and Recycling Day. It has to rain when I take out the trash and recycling.

Happy Sunday!

Beautiful morning at the park. It was a cool 54 degrees; I’m glad I wore a jacket. The sun was shining, light breeze and no humidity.
I was there from 6am until 10 am.
Six of out eight regulars showed up. No Barky and no Remus.
Three had to leave early so everybody showed up early. Later two regulars from the past showed up and it was so nice to see them and catch up.

Good news is that one of the newbies that joined us was part of the committee that helped create the dog park. She has connections and is going to pass on some of our requests.
One is to have signs put up that say ‘Dog Park Parking Only’. We have six spaces, two of them are handicapped. We can fit one car between those two spaces, even though a sign says not to.
We took up all the spaces today, including the one between the handicapped spots.
We lost the spots across the street to the new skate park that is being built, the next closest lot is a good bit farther down the road. We are consistently getting people who want to walk or jog taking our spaces, even though they will be walking and jogging right past the spaces that are further down. There have been days in the past when I got there, there were no parking spaces and not a single person was in the dog park.
I think she also may say something about the unneutered males, and the excessive barking.

Today is trash day, and we have to throw out all the food that was delivered a day late. It’s going to hurt, but better to toss it than to get sick. I got credit for the next order, so I didn’t lose any money on it.
The daycare has started a new policy and we have to make appointments for the day we want to bring our dogs in. I have to remember to let them know. I hope I can say to put me down for every Wednesday and that I won’t have to remember to do this every week.
I need to do a little laundry. I got some new clothes for summer and they need to go through the wash.
UGH, there is always something to do. So annoying.

Finished breakfast before 0900! I made SOB.

Yay!

JtC you mentioned a back fence in full sun all day and flowers (I think). What about bougainvillea? I think it would do just fine in the heat and full time sun.

Swampy enjoy your deheathenization and your slothage. It sounds like a lovely day.

I’m having a similar issue. I think it might have to do with a different angle of the sun right now and the way it hits my windows in the morning.

This sounds yummy. Can you share the recipe?

The more you know! :dizzy:

sari good news on the dog park. Hopefully you’ll see some positive changes ahead.

flyboy congrats on achieving SOB.

@nelliebly @BippityBoppityBoo are you ok?

We’ve got the very southern edge of Taters storm system down here. It’s cloudy, coolish, and we’ve got scattered showers. North of us the state is getting a fair amount of rain, which is good!

Today we’re heading over to Redwood City for my pre-op COVID test, and then down to Morgan Hill for a graduation party for one of Beamette’s friends.

Have I mentioned that Yoshi likes to give people flat tires? He’ll follow right behind you and try to step on the back of your shoes, or he’ll nip at the heels and try to pull them down. Fortunately, he doesn’t try very hard. I should film it. It’s pretty funny. He’s 2 years old and big enough to put his head on the table, but he still acts like a puppy. He’s a canine GG.

Take care and Happy Sunday everyone!

Damp and chilly in London town. We had Sunday melt in your mouth roast, Yorkshire pudding, roasted veg, sticky toffee pudding’ and some delicious cocktail involving rose wine and strawberry stuff. Tomorrow we tour Westminster Abbey then head over to the British Museum. I miss my kitteh and pony.

Daily :trophy:!!

I took the trash and recycling out for tomorrow morning-s pick-up.

Yes, I got wet.

I took off the shower head yesterday, and The Missus soaked it in CLR overnight. After taking the bins out, I put new tape on the threads and re-installed the head.

Getting by, thank you, dear heart, for asking.

When I emerge triumphant I’ll explain it all. Mostly geezer worries. I get by by hanging out with all of you every day, multiple times a day and into the night.
Y’all always make me smile and laugh out loud. It’s like like being able to always amble over to a friend’s house and waste a a couple of bucket filling hours drinking coffee and visiting on the porch. Does the soul good. :coffee::coffee::coffee:
