lol give it up and just take him home … you is claimed by kittehn
He’s been part-time with us for weeks now, but it is starting to appear he’s at least open to going full-time.
DH and I have been in agreement all along he’s welcome to stay if he likes, it’s his decision. He does have a couple of other sets of humans around the complex, but I know who one set are (they’re upstairs from us) and can easily update them.
I do wish he hadn’t taught Allie how to get over the patio fence, though.
Yeah, what she said… Did I read past the drama that led to this? But Yay for a better-paying gig!
And may I add my squeeeeeee for kittehs!!!
We’re home from the marina.Got some stuff done, and I wish I’d had my swimsuit. Daughter said the grands didn’t even make it across the bridge before they crashed (literally less than a mile from the marina!!) FCD and I have plans for tomorrow, including the transport of a bunch of stuff from the garage to the galley. We may take the boat out for a spin tomorrow… or not… we shall see.
Trying to decide whether to order pizza or just forage. Too tired to venture out and the only pizza place that delivers here has gotten waaaaaaaay expensive. So I’m thinking forage.
Tahred…
Happy Saturday!
Was a nice 54 degrees at the park this morning. I got there a bit early and the quiet was nice. Coco and Lucy came, and some new dogs that were nice to meet.
Echo was a good girl, she growled a little at newbie Jackson, but then went on to play nicely.
I was there for almost three hours.
No Barky, as Barky mom is sick. She invited me to come over and she’d let the dogs out in the yard to play with mine, but I have too much to do.
I have to finish unpacking the subscribe and save boxes from yesterday.
We picked up groceries today. I couldn’t quite fit everything into the freezer, so I put the shrimp in the fridge to thaw.
I took a flying lesson once, but it was really just so my son could go in a plane. It was his 4th birthday present and once in the air I told the instructor I wasn’t really interested in flying. The instructor was pretty young and loved to fly so he gave us an extra long ride. My son had a big smile on his face the whole time, I was a nice shade of green and a bit shaky when we landed.
Everybody thought I would chicken out because JFK Jr had just crashed his plane the day before.
I told my son that when he was old enough, he could take flying lessons, but by then he had lost interest. At that age he also wanted a Jaguar (the car) and now he doesn’t even want to drive.
What cute kitties Wheelie.
No more cats for me though, the dogs play too rough.
Adam is such a nice cat; I don’t know if I’d get that lucky again.
I think I would be much too tempted to chase George around the house with the slippers.
Years ago, one of my friends had a cat and a rabbit and the cat was terrified of the rabbit. The rabbit would chase the cat around the yard.
Adam doesn’t like hugs, so that won’t be happening. He doesn’t want me to pick him up anymore.
He always loves some scritches though.
Wow shoe
And Buddy is calmly snoozing in the bedroom windowsill. He never hangs out with us during the day like this. Not complaining at all, mind you.
I’ve been looking at them online and have almost managed to convince myself that I need a counter top steam oven. They look VERY useful. Thank you for bringing them up, I really had no clue!
Thank you, it really was scary. I had this vision of poor GG stepping on a piece of glass, getting scared because his foot hurt and trying to run through the glass instead of around it because that was the way he was pointed.
The little jerkface deserves to live in the same house as evil kitty eating bunny slippers.
Doesn’t he also have a grudge against golf carts? Knowing that other folks have not so smart critters is a source of comfort to me.
Poor lil girl. I hope she doesn’t get hurt going after something she shouldn’t. Can you distract her with peanut butter filled kong toys?
Squeeee! I just adore ginger cats. As a former rescue worker, I can confidently say most folks also adore gingers, those sweet kitties won’t have any problem finding a home.
Wow. I’m sure you had many very good reasons even if the final straw was something very minor. I hope the better paying job materializes and that you are happier there too.
You have just reminded me that having a not so smart cat is sometimes a good thing. I used to use strong magnetic latches which seemed to work for ours. Some of those child proof latches defeat me and my arthritic hands.
It was overcast all morning which was nice for the Phoenix Hooker Cops who were out doing their road clean up. My BFF’s husband plumbs buildings to support his punk rock singer career and their band adopted a piece of highway close to the city my BFF lives in. Afterwards my BFF feeds everyone and they sit around and drink and smoke and tell stories. They always invite hubs and I but today hubs just wasn’t in the mood for a bunch of people so I went with out him.
It was good to see everyone, they are all nice folks and it’s really great of them to drive up from the Valley to clean up a patch of our highway. My BFF sent lunch home with me for hubs which made him happy. Little things mean a bunch when you are feeling down over losing a good friend.
GG stayed all the way on the other side of the room while I was wearing my evil bunny slippers this morning. At least he was brave enough to stay in the same room, last night he didn’t want to be on the same end of our home. Hehehe.
Howdy Y’all! Been a day of sloth and leisure as stated earlier. I did grill some snausages so we could sup on snausage dawgs, so there’s that. It looks stormy out in the distance so maybe we’ll get a tboomer later. Oh, I changed the lightbulbs on the ceilin’ fan in the bedroom because I thought the ones in there were a bit too dim. Now I think if I opened a window at night with the lights on, a plane would land in the back yahd! Egads, it’s bright in there!
Sunny here is a recipe for Chickin Divan aka Couch Chikin. I will not that I do not use cream o’ sauce, preferrin’ as I do to make my own white sauce, but, you do you.
Taters and Oopsie mega cool plane stories!
Metal Mouse sorry about the baby birdies. Swallows nest under the eaves of the Parish Hall over to the church house every year. This always makes me happy even if I have to assist in pressure washin’ all the bird poop off every year after they leave.
Wheelie keeyooote kitteh overload!
shoe wow! I hope the other gig comes through soonest. Sounds like you left a really toxic place, so good for you.
WetOne remember you are retired, so day drinkin’ can always be an option.
Nettie I do believe you have a new boarder.
Starting to look that way. He’s currently crashed out on the bed, sound asleep. Put in some bedroom windowsill time, too.
sunny, I think every state south of the Mason-Dixon has a Shelbyville.
I’m sorry about your baby birds metal mouse. I have a nest under my eves every year, and while I get tired of the bird poop, I kind of like the little critters.
Squee! Those are some cute kittens there wheelie. I have a thing for butterscotch cats / kittens. Odd fact: about 75% of them are male. The red gene tends to come out as torties / calicos in most of the females, unless both parents carried it.
Wow shoe! I’m glad that you got a better gig out of it though. Share the deets when you’re ready.
JtC, Nelson has no issue with golf carts (I don’t think he’s ever seen one). He’s pretty bright with most things, but growling at stone kitties wasn’t one of his stellar moments.
seanette, when my folks had a cat who would get into the lower cabinets, my dad took some 6"X1.5"X.25" wooden slats, placed appropriately sized notches the width of the pair of cabinet door handles and painted them to match the cabinets. They slid and rested on the door handles unless removed, limiting access to those with opposable thumbs.
I got some good deals with the Marketplace buy, but she was waaaaaaaay overpriced on some of her stuff. She was selling things inherited from her sister and used EBay and some prices she found on new things as reference. Some of the stuff was from trends 10-15 years old and people are just about giving that stuff away. The punches had obvious heavy usage and she had prices on them that rivaled new from da Jungle. Other stuff was priced right though.
I picked up takeout from Chicken Salad Chick for supper. The chicken salad on whole wheat and artichoke soup were good enough for the place to go into summer rotation. Sloth is on the agenda for the remainder of the evening.
I really hope you mean they fell asleep!
Our cabinets do not have handles, so I think we’re into baby latch territory. DH is pretty handy with installing such things.
I would be in the same boat seanette.
This is how they looked when parked in their driveway.
I’s tahred - I was playing a match game on my tablet, and I dozed. I foresee an early night.
Evening all. I removed the nest today and yes, all the little chicks were deceased. Doesn’t look like anything got to them, so my guess is something happened to Momma bird while she was foraging and… Such is the circle of life. we’ll see if I get any new visitors in the future.
FCM, nice picture, but when I first saw it my reaction at first glance was that Toby had been hitting that baby formula pretty hard…
shoe, I am sure you had good reason for departing your job that way, and I hope that a better and more remunerative job comes along soon.
Seanette, looks like Buddy likes getting into stuff; hopefully he won’t overdo it.
Not particularly a cat person, but love your photos, Wheelie.
Bathed and napped. then mailed my electric bill and dinner (so far) was a Butter Pecan Ice Cream cone (a big one). May have a sammich a little later. Olive Garden is on the list for tomorrow so I’ve Pasta/Salad/Breadsticks to look forward too.
All y’all take care.
This is a fantastic band name!
@nelliebly, how’s Al doing?
They are online if you want to have a listen. They are very enthusiastic and sometimes they get paid enough for playing to pay for their drinks AND food. Several times they made enough money to rent a motel room or two which of course made them even more enthusiastic.
I’ve been to two shows. The crowds usually seem to be very enthusiastic as well. Either that or just really wasted, sometimes it’s hard to tell the difference.
Three hours of yard work today, trimming (and poisoning) weeds and chopping wood. Got a bit of a workout.
I had leftover filet mignon and creamed spinach for dinner. The Spousal Unit had yoghurt and popcorn.
And Buddy just now got up. He got in several hours of napping, with occasional disturbances by affectionate humans.
Rather busy for a Saturday, and it was me and the Blueberry, but we survived. He works hard, and swears about Captain Queeg. He’ll fit in nicely. Also good news and bad news. Good news: Fred is not stuck in the bathroom sink. Bad news: Fred is building a web across the bathroom sink.
Flying over Macho Grande?(and sweet airplane)
“She shoved her foot up those poor bunnies’ asses. Am I next?” - GG
“Mad chicken” is more like a velociraptor.
SQUEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!
If there’s a mass quitting, then you were right to bail. and good luck on the better job.
