A Memorial Day MMP

Much busy today, which is good. But it’s tough coming back after 4 days off. We gots some serious lack of motivation going here.

Less than 4 hours till quit time, so there’s that.

I’ve submitted my resume online to two other temping agencies. Hopefully something will bear fruit soon. All this waiting is doing great things for my creative writing wordcount, but I need to be making some dinero.

The Gnome called me last night. I haven’t talked to him for a long time. He’s my ex-fiance who moved to the Great White North to get married. Well, that’s over now because his wife grew up to be Pityme McVictim and he’s moved back to his house in Pirateville to keep away from her crazy during the divorce proceedings. And she is high-level crazy. Poor guy is trying to keep out of the depths of despair, but it’s hard.

It’s suspiciously quiet. Time to find out what the cats are up to.

It’s noon and the church bells are ringing.

I’ve been having sore eyes lately. :frowning: I did make an optometrist appointment this morning, for Thursday afternoon, so we’ll see how that goes.

“See” how that goes, get it? “See” what I did there?

Okay, eye will stop it with the eye jokes now.

My eye Doctor actually diagnosed ankylosing spondilitius.

Lady eye Doctor:“My goodness, your eye is red!”
Me: “Your parents bought you books and sent you to school, and that is your diagnosis?”
LED: “Looks like I’m going to have to take this great big needle full of steroids and poke it into your eye.”

Must be a Canadian thing — Wednesday is Hump Day but Tuesday is Hunchback Day.

I would have done an eye joke but I’m not much of a visionary.

We apologise for the poor humor in Post #65. Those responsible have been sacked.

Happy Toosday!

It has been a wasted morning. I slept until 10, and haven’t done much since.
Transferred some money that I didn’t get transferred on Firday. I hope it gets there in time for the mortgage payment on the 1st, but if it doesn’t it’s not a big deal.
Then I answered some emails.

The sun keeps trying to peek through the clouds today. I was hoping the lawn would get mowed today, but the ground is still too wet.

I didn’t sleep well last night. I kept getting a cramp in my leg, the kind that runs down the front of the shin bone.

I’m going to try to make banana pancakes today. I hate bananas but the kid likes them. I have two recipes, one that is 2 bananas, 2 eggs, and 1/4 t baking powder; the other is 1 banana, 2 eggs, and 1/4 c almond meal.
Both look easy, and I’m debating adding a little vanilla and/or cinnamon.

If he likes them, it’s something new I can add to the menu.

See BigKitty - no matter what you say, even something simple as
have a good day’, somebody will take offense. I think some people look for reasons to be offended.

I need to get up and get moving.
The day is already half way over.

I like eye jokes. The cornea the better.

Three switches failed at work over the weekend. No one called me, just replaced one with a spare and didn’t look to see what else was wrong. Texted me Tuesday morning. I worked from 6:45 till eleven getting things jury rigged and warranty replacements over nighted. Left at 1:00 to take hydrocordone because my back hurts like hell.

I broke down and sent flowers to my soon to be ex in the horsepistol. I am all couth like that. They are keeping her one more night or more. Must be really sick. Or just good insurance. I told her over text I can’t visit as “we can’t both be sick”. Bless her heart.

I haven’t done much of anything work wise except be here. Not feeling it. Plus don’t have too much until the first then all hell breaks loose. Why me, Lord?

Home, having run 3 errands along the way. It was a brain-frying day, but I’m OK now. I think. Supper will be grazing. I had a 'nanner a bit ago, so I can’t even think of eating. Maybe a bowl of cereal later.

Welcome to the club.

Howdy Y’all! Sketties 'n meatballs have been ingested. I shall need to make up more skettie sauce and meatballs soon. I took both the last of the sauce and meatballs outta da freezer.

flytrap hope the back is feelin’ better soonest.

Sari we make banana pancakes for Mini-Rio fairly often. We use 2 eggs, 2 bananas, and a touch of vanilla. They come out fine, (unless I cook them) every time.

Thanks, Swampy.

Supper was cereal. I had rice krispies with a 'nanner.

**FCD **has been popping across the channels - Star Wars, Rio Bravo, African Queen, and the local news. He’s a dangerous man with the remote.

doggio it was that first (non)goal. :frowning:

sari, nutmeg is what you’re looking for in nanner pancakes or nanner bread. A handfull of chopped pecans would be pretty good too.

We hauled booty all day today to make up for yesterday. We are now looking pretty good for month end. After irk yesterday, I went to a discount store and PetSmart to pick a few things up for the new arrival. He now has a bed, a baby gate (marketers wisely began pitching them to pet owners a few years back :stuck_out_tongue: ), a brush, some bitters to coat anything in his reach that he shouldn’t get into, shampoo and of course, some toys. Sometime before his arrival, I need to tidy up the wires and cables in the studio, pick up plastic shoeboxes for the ones on the bottom shelf of the shoe rack and rearrange the bottom shelf of the baker’s rack in the kitchen so that it doesn’t have anything he could get hurt on. This is almost as much work as toddler proofing a home. :stuck_out_tongue:

Multiple members of my wife’s family posted about putting flowers on graves despite these dead relatives not having served in the armed forces. That seems really weird, and wrong, to me; but she seems to think this is typical where she comes from (the Red River Valley of MN/ND). Has anyone else heard of this?

They didn’t turn out very well, but maybe it was me.
I put in a little cinnamon.
They never set up like a pancake, they stayed runny and gooey.
If you (or your wife) can get it to work then maybe I did something wrong.

Tomorrow I’ll try the recipe with almond meal and see how that goes.

We’re almost caught up at work, at least till the next catastrophe.

Sexual favors for the refs.

How do they stream the bell ringing to Canadians overseas? With a quasimodem.
