Physical service was OK, customer service was a slow burn because they kept finding ways to cram my bill and jack up the monthly charge.
We got 3 new TVs in the very recent past, replacing the ancient CRT sets we had. The data transmission rates in our hood couldn’t keep up with the demands of the HD sets. Couple that with we were DirecTV customers in NC, and had nary an issue with them. It all added up to MetroCast’s days being numbered.
The fiasco yesterday was enough to do away with MetroCast altogether. We otherwise would have been perfectly happy to keep phone and Internet with them. A quick call to Verizon showed that 10 MBPS DSL was available, and bundling everything gave us billing exposure that was significant less than the old way. Sold!
I hadn’t thought about the data transmission, but you are living in a more densely populated area than I am. Here in the boonies, I notice our 'net speed does slow about the time kids get home from school, and sometimes Netflix won’t buffer, but mostly, we’re good. Looks like you just picked the wrong neighborhood.

I had to make a trip to Dallas on Monday night then got back late last night and I might have to head to shreveport today. I should know in the next couple of hours as if I don’t have to drive for 7 hours today for a meeting tomorrow I would prefer not to.
Before I go I have to shower ( been up since 5 to work out and also get some work done) then go to the post office to mail my god daughters birthday present to the uk as well as my mam’s pressie and another 2 birthday cards. Then I need to run and pick up something from the UPS depot all which I had planned on doing at lunch today but can’t if I have to head south.
Taters if you need someone taken care of To make your life easier we Know some people. Just sayin!

**mmmmmmmm **- this may be a silly question, but doesn’t your employer believe in teleconferencing? Wouldn’t it be a better use of your time to spend a few hours talking to your computer than driving all day to do the same thing in person? Or does that make too much sense?

Quite a bit! Unfortunately she didn’t have any shirts I really needed to take off her back at this event. She did have issues in a couple places and I don’t think all were rides. The temporary platforms they had rigged in the meadow for our dinner and show had a few of our people finding “plan b’s”. Dollywood does seem to have more issues ADA-wise than most parks - don’t know why. Lets face it, if our buddy has trouble (the way she bounces around on her pin) the average challenged person doesn’t have a hope.
With the new job are you still going to see her as much?
Now that you are a whole year older do we have to treat you with more respect?

Are you sure it isn’t in Snopes somewhere? As we get older a lot of our memories of Johnny seem to be coming up urban legend.
For the most part yes they do (please refer to my all day 8-10 hour monthly review conference calls) but in this case it was a ‘come to jesus’ meeting with a few people that need to quit finger pointing, man up, grow a set and do their jobs and it required face to face to do that. My job feeds into the above people that need to quit finger pointing and their nonsense was affecting my suppliers so their bosses boss asked me to attend. Then I get 1 1/2 hours down the road and the meeting got cancelled due to a key person having a family emergency. So it will be rescheduled. Maybes.
So now I am home in the AC and under the ceiling fans avoiding the heat warnings. We will break temp records today apparently at 105 degrees. Fun!
I don’t think so, here is what I remember
Johnny is showing off new devices and is handed a tele/periscope with a huge U shaped bend in it, imagine a periscope pointed at your feet with a 18 inch by 10 inch U at chest level, JC grabs the thing at the arc of the U and asks Ed if this is the telescope that Dolly uses to look at her feet. My telling is bad but it was funny. gotta go to work will search the web later and see if I can find it

Packing packing packing.
Hubby, from far away, sent roses and a b-day cake for me to enjoy. That was awfully sweet of him!
Much less stressful day at the ol’ irk today. GM was gleeful because he caught someone doing something WRONG and he got the law involved. In his defense, it was quite a serious WRONG and the law was only involved as a CYA move in case the WRONGdoers decided to dispute the $500 charge GM levied on their credit card. The police report would justify the charge.
So what did they do? Broke off the sink trap which was attached to a PVC pipe in the wall (also broken) and left. This sort of breakage would involve some serious effort. Also, they used the sink after breaking it, so the carpet is soaked. :smack: We have to call the plumbers in to fix it and the room can’t be rented until then. When the plumbers will be able to come in, who knows, but the room might be out for a busy pre-holiday weekend. Then, once the plumbers have done their thing, the carpet has to be dealt with.
Also, judging from the empty cases of beer lying around, alcohol was probably involved. You are shocked to learn this I am sure.
$500 might not be enough. I told GM that when he had a guilt pang about charging it. Yes, I do encourage evil when it’s justified.
