A Monday without an MMP is like . . .

30 minutes of rain this afternoon! Yay!

I had a good time with my friend. Her baby is 6 weeks old and just the cutest little thang! He slept most of the time, though. I got to hold him though. We had a lovely lunch of Mexican food - even though that’s what we ate last night! I dodn’t tell her, though - it was my treat and I let her choose the restaurant. It was yummy! I had tamales with rice and beans, and we had queso and guacamole.

All my stoopit skin tags are gone, and I’m stinging a bit in my armpits. It’s ok, though - i was sick of looking at them. I think there are at least 40 dots on my body, including the one by my eye. I’ve had that one for over 5 years! It’s gone!

Ok- done rambling.

Night!

ETA: How rude of me! Feel better quickly, sickies. I hope everyone feels better real soon!

We’re getting hit with TSDanny’s rains. He won’t make landfall here - he’s heading for The Cape. But he will wash out the picnic - so we’re having it Sunday instead. I am going to try to get out tomorrow and pick up a few extra memory cards for my camera
eta oh and this is cool (well, it is for me)

A friend from long ago, with whom I’ve lost touch, found me on facebook, and we talked for two hours this afternoon on the phone - It was as if no time had passed - we fell right back into it. I love finding long lost friends. And now that I’m learning to like myself a whole lot better, it’s so much easier to reconnect with those from my past without being self conscious.

VBob and db - thank you for the compliment

Rosie, is there any Microcenters near you? They have bins of memory cards and thumb drives at the registers, for short money.

like $7 for 2Gb

There’s a Best Buy a few towns over - there might be a MicroCenter near it. I’ll check into that, thank you.

Keep going by BB–they are most expensive there.

Up, caffeinated, off to work. Bowling tonight.

It is Saturday. It is Sunny. I have Some Employment (my third paying translator job! I feel so proud!).

Methinks I’ll go out and verify that the sun warms things when it’s in Scotland, too. I’ve already verified it several times recently but there’s things about which you can never have too many data points.

More healing vibes for all the sick or sad people. Sorry, I haven’t figured out how to put a slice of sunlight into the DVD drive yet, working on it.

Afternoon all. It’s Saturday. Both husband and daughter are behaving like 2 year olds, even though only one of them is actually entitled to. Sigh … I know men lag behind women in terms of emotional maturity, but this is ridiculous!

Up way too early on a Saturday, even tho I stayed up late last night watching TV. Oh well… I got the dishwasher emptied and loaded the few dirties into it. I made a cucumber-onion salad for the cookout tonight. And of course, I tended to the critters. It’s overcast and it should be a nice, rainy day, on and off. rosie, I don’t think you’re feeling the effects of Danny yet - as of 5 this morning, it was just off the NC coast. I expect you’re getting the system that’s been moving in from the west. Yeah, I know, one semester of meteorology, and I’m a freekin’ weatherman! :stuck_out_tongue:

I need to get a coat of primer on the lab table tops in the garage. 9 doubles and 3 triples. She won’t have that many students, but it’ll give her flexibility.

Not a lot else. I was having a weird dream that I had to drive from MD to FL via RI. That’s an 8-hour (one way) detour to the north. Yeah, that makes sense… Plus I couldn’t take a shower before leaving because my inlaws had taken down the shower curtain in one bathroom, and there were no towels in the other. As you see, nothing in my dreams involves logic.

Time to caffeinate and clean the cat boxes. Maybe toss a load into the washer, too.

Happy Saturday!!!

Up and caffeinating here. Had to send my cousin the recipe for Rebo’s lemon cheese pie cause she lost the one I’d sent earlier. She loves the pie, btw. Oh yeah, I’ve got skin tags too … damn things, so I totally empathsize with you about them.

Sending healing thoughts to Gotti and DH; hope that the tamiflu stuff helps too. Gentle hugs.

Dotty, sorry that hubby is acting like he’s HRH’s age. Hah, either give him an extra sugary treat tonight or withhold that treat … I don’t know what he would respond to better but hopefully you do.

FCM, what an odd detour, although it was a dream so anything goes.

Nava, I hope the Scottish sun proves warm enough for you. And yay! on the third job!!

Hope everyone enjoys their Saturday.

Good morning all!

Sorry you’re dealing with an oversupply of juvenility (is that a word?), Dotty!

Mmm, cucumber onion salad sounds good. Did you make some for me, FCM?

It’s quite pretty and cool this morning, so I’m going to go claim some hostas from a friend, to take some pictures at the park where I volunteer, and then do some work in my garden, I think. Need to go to the farmer’s market for a second first, though (cucumbers! corn!).

Need to think about what I’m doing before leaving on vacation on Thursday.

Off to be productive, I hope.

GT

Good morning everyone. It rained here and I think it supposed to continue off and on throughout the day. It’s okay, we need it.

I got a lot of cleaning done yesterday. All I have to do today is wash the kitchen, entry way, and powder room floors and clean up my bedroom and the master bath.

It’s difficult to get stuff done around here when everyone is around. I’m much faster if I clean when no one is around. Everyone was around yesterday, so I didn’t get as much done as I would have liked.

Tonight, we’re hosting a 99 party. It should be fun.

Hope you and DH are feeling a little better, gotti.

Hope your hubby straightens up Dotty.

Had a busy day of laundry and grocery shopping etc I have a massive pile of ironing to do now but that can wait til tomorrow.

I had planned on doing some work this afternoon but I lay down on the couch and fell asleep for 3 hours!

I am having a medicinal cocktail right now - Happy Saturday!

Doggone, our trek out to breakfast turned expensive…

We stopped at PetSmart to get a couple of aquarium light/cover units for daughter- $84 and change

On to Lowe’s for a garage door threshold (the old concrete one has crumbled and been removed) - another $80 something

Third stop didn’t have what we were looking for, so we were spared.

Just finished putting the primer on the lab tables - we’ve probably got $300 in them. I think we’ve done more than our share of contributing to the kid’s classroom - over $500 to date. Not counting all the time. Interestingly, SIL can’t seem to spare the time to help his wife…

I’ve got to gather up the remnants of the old garage threshold and dump it in our woods somewhere. Then I need to wave an iron over the top I want to wear this afternoon, followed by a shower. I should probably verify the directions, too. I mostly know where I’m going, but I need to be sure. I almost wish we weren’t going, but we really need to do some socializing.

So much for slugging today…

Aquarium supplies are not cheap. I know this personally. What is your daughter putting in the aquarium, FCM?

I’ve managed to shower and scrub my shower. I’m a weirdo, who just scrubs the shower after I wash up. That way, I don’t have to get my clothes wet and trying to lean in at stupid angles. Besides, I kill two birds with one stone that way.

Well, I should get a move on.

Taters, she wants to set up a Chesapeake Bay ecosystem. I suggested she go to the local marine museum and get some advice. We shall see. I think she’s also going to have a small fresh water setup.

OK, quit distracting me - I have stuff to do!

Oh good Lord. Saltwater tanks are the most expensive tanks to maintain. Everything has to absolutely perfect; salinity, Ph, etc. There is no going on vacation for a couple of days. They have to be checked every single day. They are a lot of work. Freshwater tanks are definitely easier, and why, last year, when my husband decided he wanted a fish tank again, we went with freshwater.

Our fishies have gotten quite large. Speaking of tanks, ours needs cleaning again.

My laptop has returned! It’s less than a year old so it went to Sony’s repair facility and their turnaround time is much quicker.

Soon I’ll begin making some bread dough to be used for pizza crust and cinnamon rolls!

Fortunately the only thing that I killed was the thread. The pizza was very good and in a little bit I’ll start working on the cinnamon rolls.

Howdy Y’all! Yeah, I’ve been scarce. I am busy and tahred. Yay for the weekstart finally gettin’ here though!

All you sick ones, feel better soon.

All you whiny ones, go stand in the corner.

Everybody else, well, you’re on your own. You’re grownups. So There! :stuck_out_tongue:

I grilled burgers and made N.O.T. sallit for dindin. 'Twas good.

Beerverages are bein’ consumed. I deserve!

Oh and we went to Chili’s last night and had their two for twenty deal. Not too shabby. You get an appetizer to share (we had the basket of onion strings and fried jalapenos), two entrees (Ol’ y’all know who had the bacon burger, I had the chicken quesadilla) and a dessert to share (we had the big chawklit cake with ice cream thingy which is huuuuuuuuuuuuuuuge). Plus we had margaritas and a soft drink with our meals. Like I said, not too shabby. Matter of fact, I only ate half of the quesadilla last night. I had the other half for lunch, so I got two meals out of it.

And that, folks, is the big excitatement from da cave.
