A mundane thread . . . "What are you gonna do this weekend?"

What band?

Da Phunk Band, a local group.

Had my son’s family over for his birthday dinner. The little girl is in her shrieky phase, so perhaps the less said about that the better. Overall, the weekend was a success.

Quis docet ipsos doctores?

This weekend, I played board games on Saturday and Sunday.

Next weekend, I’ll play board games on Saturday and Sunday.

The weekend after that, I’ll play board games on Saturday and Sunday.

It’s a good life as long as you can keep up the pace.

This past weekend I went to an estate sale, as I usually do when one is held near me. It’s amazing and occasionally a little disquieting what people collect, and how much of those things they collect. You do find neat things, however, like a huge Ronald McDonald coloring book (which I should have bought, since I bet it’s worth something) or a set of Shriners drum and fife suits and jackets, along with a drum and harness-thing to carry it.

Now I can’t get the song “Grandma got run over by a Rangifer” out of my head.

I was in the Adirondacks.

I did pay bills and clean the area that I wanted to clean. An ant infestation led to a spider infestation, which meant a lot of ant-body laden spider webs. Ewww.

Unfortunately I couldn’t get the blinds down, I’m not strong enough :pensive:

Whew, so I got everything done I needed to last weekend after two weeks on the road, then hit the ground running at work, aiming to relax this weekend. Nope!

  • Driving to Albuquerque for new tires for the truck tomorrow, and taking the two vehicles for . . .
  • Shopping and resupply in a “big town” for stuff we can’t get ‘on the hill.’
  • Sunday is more cleaning and chores, before we have neighbors over for a BBQ, which I gotta cook for.
  • Then Sun PM, I got asked to help some friends haul some junk to the county dump (in the recently re-shod truck).

At least next week, we’re right in line of the eclipse–hiking planned!

I looked at the Full moon. Heard coyotes.

Kinda my life.

My boy is sick. Not any obvious symptoms besides lying down on the floor instead of running around, and just being very lethargic. He slept for about 12 hours last night and he didn’t even play that much when he was supposed to be in bed.

So I got to cancel his 8:30am swim lesson, which means I got to sleep in - I slept until 9:30am! - and now we are cuddled up on the couch watching Ms. Rachel.

His name’s Dave.

I realized I’ve been so busy, I lost track of time. The eclipse isn’t until October 14th!

Saturday stuff done. The only thing left on the list today is to kick feet up, eat some ice cream, and watch Svengoolie with the wife and cats.

It’s an action packed household.

Hmm, yesterday I said I’d apply for jobs and sort a couple of boxes. Well, I sorted a box…

Okay, I’m up to a box and a half.

Yesterday I said I’d do several useful things today, Sat.

So I was up at 6:30am, had done something minorly useful on the computer by about 7:15am, and it’s now 7:45 pm. In the intervening 12+ hours I ate twice, showered once, and slothed. Period. Haven’t even been out the front door.

On the bright side, you have sharks!

Good answer. Has anybody considered the possibility that Juvenal didn’t want a big political debate; he just wanted to know the name of the guy who was sleeping with his wife.

Trilogy of Terror, a classic.

Ooooh ot was! And it was a ‘new’ movie for me too (been watching regularly since 2017).

Now it’s coffee, breakfast, an chores before other stuff.

Did you know that the ‘student’ (a really old one) was Karen Black’s husband IRL?
