A Murderously Fun MMP

RooPoo? You’re…you’re leaving us? Whose tailpipe gets bananaed now?

No, no, no. You can’t get rid of me that easy. I was just saying good-bye to my late night drive-bys to Special1. I’ll be here the rest of the time.

And stop parking so close to me. You’re making me nervous. I never know where that banana has been.

Ha! I wouldn’t be surprised.

Eh, don’t worry, Noone. I’m usually here til 1am anyway. Doing nothing in particular, as is my wont.

have I mentioned lately how much I HATE humidity?

I would hope even OM drinkers would notice a can that’s a quarter to half full gotti. And no… beer does not flow in the break rooms. Although, we do have First Friday where one can stop by and quaff a beerverage or two and munch on munchie stuff. I do have a picture ID from Miller. That’s how I get in and out of security. I figure that, plus such things as a bump cap, safety goggles, ear plugs and all that there stuff should convince anybody I was just comin’ from work. Also, the beer is on me not in me and that smells different.

Howdy Y’all! Had a great shift today (well, yesterday now). Everything ran smoothly. We had very little waste. That was good. The down side was I was dealing with sixteen ounce cans of Schlitz Malt Liquor, Magnum 16 Malt Liquor and Colt 45 Malt Liquor. Also and end of run for Red Dog (that means it was finishin’ up just as I came on shift). Malt liquor… ::shudder::

Welcome to the MMP Stasia! Our motto is: “Keeping MPSIMS neat and tidy because we’re nice dammit!” So come on in anytime and share anything. It’s all good here.

Welcome back Faerie! Glad the weddin’ and honeymoon went well.

Ok, tired here so gonna go sleepy-bye. Nite Y’all!

It’s finally started raining. Serious thunder going on. Awesome. And I baked rosemary cornbread. Which is also awesome.

Howdy all! Gah - nearly 2 pages to read since I logged off last night!

Well, no real change overnight - still nothing but liquid sh*t from baby Noor. On the plus side, hubby and I are back to normal (why is it that we can get over it in 2 days, but 5 days on, Noor is still pulling the occasional Exorcist routine and blasting out of her nappies with what seems like increasing frequency???) Don’t bother answering that - I think it’s all to do with previous exposure to similar viruses and the body’s ability to generate appropriate antibodies, etc. etc.

Welcome Ana - I always enjoy reading your posts elsewhere in the SDMB, so I am sure you will fit in just fine in the mumps!

Congratulations Faerie! Now just sit back and wait for people to start asking when you’re going to have kids!

Hey swampy, what’s Malt Liquor? I have heard it mentioned in a couple of films as associated with black (read African-American) people as a kind of stereotyped alcoholic drink. So tell me, what is it and why is it so closely linked with the African-American population (ditto the whole fried chicken thing)???

Hello! Here I am! I can’t believe it’s Wednesday already! I had a lot of catching up to do.

Soooooo, welcome to our newbies. We’re a nice bunch of folks who like to oogy each other out on occasion, but are quick to offer big shoulders, empathy, hugs, when needed. We like to joke, we like to play and FCM and Swampy like to pick on each other in an almost sibling like way.

The work week has been uneventful, if not a little boring. My daughter has been working as a Red Cross volunteer in the office upstairs from me. She’s doing clerical work, but it’s one of the things she needs to do for her Senior Culmination project.

I can’t remember who mentioned it upthread, but I too am going through the bloating swelling thing, and I can’t figure out why. I should probably make an appointment with my doctor.

Rosie, I’m very late to the party, but I enjoyed your OP. I was in Arsenic and Old Lace when I was a freshman. I played Hildegarde. It was great fun and the play was very well received. I participated in an all-city sixth grade choir waaaaaaaay back in 1976. I even have an album. Now, I can’t carry a tune in a bucket.

Dotty, I’m sorry to hear about poor baby Noor. I really hope she stops with the diahrrea factory soon. Her poor bum must really be getting sore.

I guess I should get going for now. I think I’m gonna veg and try to fall asleep.

Farewell, Roo, it was fun while it lasted… ::Cries a few tears of sorrow::

Oh, wait, you’ll still be around, just not for my morning reveille? That’s better.

**Haze **-- so glad you’re still around to play together  Do you need somebody to force you into bed tonight, too?

Appropriate Boos and Yays to everyone. Special well-wishes for **Dotty **and Noor. And Good Morning everybody!! Rise and Shine!!!

I’m going to be offline starting around 2 PM (my time – 7 AM EDT), back sometime Saturday night or Sunday morning.
Aren’t you all glad to get rid of me for a few days? :o :dubious:

I think I am starting to get cabin fever from being locked up in this house for so long - can’t go anywhere 'cause Noor needs to stay home until she reverts to normal bowel movements! Thank Og for the Dope!

Hi Taters! :waves madly: Where ya bin?

Special1, are you off somewhere special or is it just a work thingy?

Haze - rosemary cornbread sounds yummy! Do you think you could jam some down the intertubes to me? I haven’t had my breakfast yet and cornbread sounds like a good way to start the day!

Sigh, I suppose I should make the most of Noor’s morning nap to wander into the kitchen and dry-fry some turkey bacon to go with yesterday’s leftover boiled egg - a little bit of Kraft cheese spread on a pita bread, pile it all on and bingo - breakfast wrap! NUMMY!!!

Nah, just a long weekend at a hotel in Haifa. All of one hour from home! But it’s a “vacation” in the sense of “get out of the house and stop the rat race” nonetheless.

Now, on Aug 1 we’re all going to Canada/US for 11 days – I think I covered this in a previous MMP.

Is Haifa nice? I don’t think I’ll ever be visiting Israel, given my family situation, but haven’t really seen any pics, other than the usual ones of Jerusalem, and the not-so-nice ones post-atrocity in whichever location is then under attack.

Haifa is built on Mount Carmel, so it had that wonderful combination of City, Bay and Mountains that few cities in the world have… San Francisco and Rio come to mind.

And there are the Baha’i Gardens, that were renovated about 10 years ago, stretching up the mountain from the bay… I’ll try and find a good link and post it later.

As for (mutually) visiting… who knows? Maybe someday. Where are you, Dubai? Bahrain? You would be surprised how much quasi-public interaction Israel has with quite a few of the Gulf Emirates!

The Baha’i Gardens – here you go

Meeks - Thanks I Really liked this (and am going to watch more of your links. I wish I understood the words…
and I will ask if I have any questions.

Thanks, rigs - it’s OK - whatever floats your boat.
Special1 - Mornin’! - thanks for The Baha’i Gardens link!

Haze - mmmmmmmmmmm… rosemary cornbread!
Soon’z I catchup this thread (uhhhh… guess that’s now - wheeee) Ima gonna make me some cornbread too - Y’all are corruptin’ me already
HSM

Morning all, and welcome to the Noobz!

We went out for food and beerverages last night, lots of fun and some quite ridiculous conversations but that’s what a good night out is for.

I’m actually not too tired this morning which is a good thing because I have to go and herd professors again this afternoon for the late ceremony (4.30pm start) which won’t finish until around 6pm so I will be home late. Luckily dinner tonight is leftover curry from Tuesday so I won’t even have to cook.

Dotty - how’s you and Noor today? Are you better yet?

I think caffeine may be in order now…

Wow Special1 - the Baha’i Gardens look beeyootiful! FYI, we are in Bahrain. I can’t stand Dubai - too commercial, glitzy and EXPENSIVE these days.

I am trying to type with my fingers crossed right now - Noor hasn’t had a bowel movement in over 4 hours, although she did let rip with some great farts while she was feeding before! She is asleep again and I am just hoping that we may be finally seeing a light at the end of the tunnel (that isn’t another f*cking locomotive coming to run her gastrointestinal tract into the ground!).

Wow - BooFae and Posit online too! Let’s see if we can freak the Merkins out with another 2 pages while they’s snoring!

Hahahahahahahahahaha

Thanks! And I’m still hoping that Bahrain will have more overt relations with Israel someday soon (there is a lot of unofficial / unpublicized contact going on all the time)

Crossing fingers here, too.

Well, it makes sense that **BooFae **is here… I think **Posit **is keeping tabs on us for the [del]CIA[/del]American contingent, though!
Now if **Nava **checks in too… maybe we can run another couple of pages!

Well, I think I might go and get my mushroom and pea risotto started for lunch, so maybe I will have time to try my hand at Peanut Butter Chocolate Brownies to welcome FCM back!
