gt - that’s not the exact exhibit, but there are several companies that have similar exhibits traveling around. I was a little nervous about going but I thought it was fascinating. It gave me an understanding of the human body better than any book I ever read. And it’s not bloody or gross or anything like that. It’s not even clinical, exactly. It was almost art.
I don’t know why people get offended when what you said doesn’t even apply to them. But it happens–it’s not your fault.
Those look like standard-sized planner pages, so you could probably use them with a different cover. It looks like the same size I have-3 3/4" x 6 3/4". Have you checked at any office supply places? They have refills in different styles, so you might be able to find something you like there. I have the Dayrunner “Poetica,” with cheesy little sayings for every week (Example: “It’s so much easier to be enthusiastic than to reason.” I’m not quite sure if they’re being sarcastic or not. I’m afraid not. It looks nice, anyway).
I’m done reading Harry Potter, and I’m a little bit disappointed. I’ve never been a huge fan, but they’re quick to read and entertaining, so I’ve read them all anyway. It kept me out of trouble for a few hours, so that’s a good thing.
I made peanut butter brownies–thanks for the recipe, Dotty! I may have eaten too many. They’re very tasty. I’ll save the rest for tomorrow. For breakfast, because peanut butter has protein, and you need a little protein with your breakfast. Right?
gt, the Zanesville Art Center sounds cool. I keep seeing that stuff on Antiques Roadshow, and they have some gorgeous pottery.
swampy, Sprite flavored beer? Beer salt?! The beer salt’s not the same as bacon salt, right? Are they two different things? Because bacon-flavored salty beer would be kinda nasty. Bacon-flavored salty Sprite beer would be even worse. I’ll stick with margaritas, thanks.
Happy Sunday everyone! It’s 4.50am. Eeeek! I’ve been awake since 2am, must be the excitement. I have to caffeinate and make sandwiches for today, then I am due to collect Gill and our outfits at 5.45am before we head off to Edgbaston to join the rest of the teams.
Hope you’re all enjoying HP (those who are reading it)!
Congrats to Mr Lissar on his license, I’m joining those who think the two-day driving plan is a great idea.
Got to dash…appropriate yays, boos, hugs and cookies to those that want/need!
Now see, if the world had bacon salt and chocolate sugar, there would never ever be a need for anything else ever.
Good luck today BooFae!
Magi this is what I mean by beer salt. A margarita with bacon salt sounds nummy to me. Bacon salt in beer… hmmmm… it’s bacon… it’s beer… what’s not to love!
Just popping in to say hello. I stood in line at Borders for HOURS yesterday to get the damn HP7 book. It was an interesting experience; moreso since I was dressed as Bellatrix and everyone was staring (I think I was the only one dressed as a Death Eater - everyone else was Hermione or Harry or Trelawney). But we did get our books in the end and I stayed up til 7am finishing mine. Slept until 2pm when a friend called me and asked me to have lunch with him and his SO. Ended up seeing the latest HP movie again.
Am now exhausted. And have apartment hunting to do tomorrow! stumbles off to bed
Good morning all! Still no let-up in Noor’s diarrhoea, but she is now on antibiotics, so we will see what impact that has on the sh*t-fest!
MIL is still ranting about taking Noor to dirty shopping malls, etc. etc. I told hubby I would leave Noor with her today for a couple of hours to cure her of her b*tchiness, but he said no! MIL has really bad arthritis in her knees, so hubby thinks it would be a bad idea. I do too, but I think she needs a little reminder of how much work a little baby is!!!
I need to think over what to do for lunch today. My microwave mushroom and pea risotto was such a big hit with hubby that I ended up making it 2 days in a row, so that one gets added to the permanent fixture list, along with the spicy beef tortilla stack and the chicken ball stroganoff. I also made a pretty mean blue cheese and rocket penne last week, but it was sooooo good that we will only be having that every once in a while (anything with blue cheese AND mascarpone in the sauce cannot be good for you!). I might try my hand at making butter chicken (aka Murgh Makhani) today, just for the hell of it! It’s a good excuse to avoid the vacuuming that keeps calling my name!
FCM, sounds like you had a really nice vacation. I always love being out on the water, although it has been a long while since I was last on a boat!
Welcome back Special1! Good to hear you had a nice lazy break!
Hope all you HP fans enjoy the book - I might duck over to CS and see if I can read a few spoilers to find out who dies!
It’s always a bonus when I can spend the night with the windows open. It was cool enough overnight that I actually got chilly and snuggled under the covers. We should be able to open up for the next 3 or 4 nights - yay!
Last night before we crashed, my daughter helped me build the french toast casserole for today’s breakfast - I’ll be popping it into the oven in about half an hour. I should probably go ahead and empty the dishwasher, too, since it’s packed full and all of the plates are in there. I think we’ll be wanting plates for our breakfast - french toast casserole in a bowl is just wrong. Unless we top it with ice cream?? Hmmmmmm…
Nah - I’ll just empty the dish washer.
I’m also going out today to get some shoes and a purse. But I’m avoiding the purse thread - what little bit of it I read made my head hurt. The purse I’m using now cost me $5 at WalMart in Houston 2 years ago. One of the straps is about to fail, so I need a replacement. I think I got my $5 worth out of it. I may spring for $10 this time around! I do think I’ll get a black bag instead of the brown. We shall see.
I don’t think I mentioned, but my youngest sister has asked me to make coffee mugs for her “gang” - they call themselves the “Crips” because they’re all scarred and old and falling apart. She wants band-aids on the mugs, and the handle is to look like an arthritic hand. And all lettering is to be in black and blue. It should be a fun project, but SIX MUGS?? I’m gonna be busy. Plus she wants a couple of dog dishes for her little hairball mutt. So I’ll work her stuff into my monster making.
Can’t believe I have to go back to work tomorrow. Life is so unfair. I should be independently wealthy, dammit! <insert deep, resigned sigh> Wonder how many emails are cramming my inbox at work?
