Excited? Whatever do you mean? I’m not excited at the thought of you shipping out.

[BAnd woodstock, anyone that will personally hand-make me a Best of Camper Van Beethoven CD is hella cute in my book.**
What about someone who would personally hand-make you a Best of Husker Du CD, huh? They’re cute, too…sniff
I’m going to San Diego this weekend, so can’t get together with you guys, but have fun. Sue, stop being so damn cryptic. Are you moving or what? I’m keeping my fingers crossed that you’ve had a change of plans…and either way, I still want your house.
virtee, flattery will get you everywhere.
Go Prune Pickers!
Aack! Husker Du! How could I forget that it was Husker Du? You still rock in my book.

**Saturday… I don’t think I have any plans for Saturday. Anyone up? Come on, Willow Glen is a happenin’ place. Maybe we can even drag virtee’s roommate–he’d love to show off his new motorcycle…::studiously does not respond to the “one size fits all” condoms remark:: **
Sheesh, every freaking time my BAD’s have a fest it’s either when I cant afford the gas or the time to make it, or they plan crap on days i wont be around! Sorry Rasa, as you know i’ll be in LA. I hope you have fun sniff
Oh and welcome virtee! We do need more “hella cute” guys around wink :). I hope to see you at Demo’s BBQ or whenever the hell the next bash is that Rasa drags you to and I can go.
I was born in San Francisco - just a few blocks from where I now live. So, you have met a native before!
Now that that’s said:welcome virtee!

A few pints should get my dart game oiled up.
Oiled? What a great idea! It will certainly add a new facet to dart games in the Duhnym garage.
Welcome aboard ** virtee **
Since no one’s said it yet…
How YOU doing?
Aww, Doob! Heck, the only reason I can make this impromptu Dopefest is cuz I can walk to it from my house! I’ll make the next one, and bring him with me, k?
Sassy, sorry to leave you out! I didn’t realize you were a native too. I just get a kick out of the awestruck look when I say “He’s from San Jose!” Good to see you again!
Sue, if we play strip-darts, promise you’ll wear the new dress and shoes?
hardygrrl, he’s doin’ just fine… trust me.
Thank you, hardygrrl for the welcome!
I’m doing the very best that I can…which may not amount to much in the end but there it is.
Hi virtee!

Wicked Blue/Rose…nice to meetcha!
virtee, Rose and I used to be neighbors! She’s from da Riv… I can’t see her waving out the window anymore.
::waves back at Blu::
Welcome, virtee! Enjoy your stay here.
Your profile said that you registered on May 28th–why so long in “coming out of the closet”?
The Bay Area dopers (IMHO) seem to have a real sense of togetherness–you stand in good stead!
DRY, I think he was afraid he’d be crashing “my” party if he started posting here. Wasn’t that sweet of him? So I took the liberty of introducing him to you all so he’d feel welcome.
One more welcome to the boards from a native bay arean, well, alamedean really. bay arean sounds kinda funny. I can say San Franciscan when I’m back East, but when talking with locals, that doesn’t cut it. bayareaite? any suggestions?

Well, we could all call ourselves Bay Arians
Anyhow, add me to the list of native bay area residents… grew up in Sunnyvale, now live in Palo Alto. (Of course, it’s taken me almost a year to rack up a not-mind-boggling 98 posts, so I’m really more of a lurker)
Wow, natives coming out of the woodwork! Hella cool.
Max, you’re like, practically my neighbor–I work in Mountain View. You should keep an eye out for BAD Dopefests, there’s a really great crew out here. Lurkers are always welcome!
We could call ourselves BAD muthafuckas.
So, a possibility of something Dopefesty happening on Saturday was floated earlier in the thread. Is that still on anyone’s mind?
I’m not sure on details for the Willow Glen festival thingy… I completely spaced on the fact that virtee and I are going to his uncle’s 50th birthday Saturday during the day. We won’t be there all day, so if it’s going on in the evening as well, count us in, as we can walk to the festivities. I’ll email Sue and see whassup!
Hello, there, DRY! As Rasa said, I didn’t want to crash her party. I know it’s a public forum and all, but she’s been here for years and I thought it just good manners to ask permission.
I, too, think it’s great that more locals are showing up in here, like BigDaddyD. This gives us all (especially me ) to chew the proverbial fat over things we experience in our daily lives - whether it’s political, scientific, religious or just mundane bitching about the traffic on 880. Many of us are so busy with our jobs, or the search for one, that we rarely have the time to slow down and enjoy our surroundings, make friends or even exercise those brains that we’ve filled with knowledge over the years.
Myself, I am hoping to meet new people outside the realm of work, start conversations and make lasting friendships. Gosh…I didn’t realize how hungry for those things I really was!
I fully expect that I’ll say interesting things, dumb things or just plain weird things. My brain presents stuff to me in a way not unlike a Salvador Dali painting - all at once and in a melty mess. Sometimes bouncing ideas off of other people helps them make more sense!
Thanks again for all the nice welcomes!
