Stainless Steel Rat, you said you toured a missile silo. You should read this short Wikipedia article about a high school north of my city. I toured it back in the late 60s when the silo was about to be remodeled. Really a cool place, they saved money doing the school the way they did.
We got a good rain and it’s cooler outside now.
I made a pork roast and broccoli for dinner, was pretty good. Both Adam and Ripple approved of the pork.
Adam doesn’t beg for food very often, but he does like chicken and pork.
I have been making myself crazy trying to pick out new living room furniture. I think it is time, I hate my couch. The furniture was cheap and is pretty old, I have had it for 5 years and it was a hand me down from my mother. It’s so saggy that I can sit down at the end of the couch and pretty soon I find myself back in the middle.
I found a chair I like, black leather wing back. I’m thinking 2 chairs and a love seat. But then I think buy one chair, get rid of the couch, see how I like it and go from there. If I don’t like the chair in the living room, I could put it in my bedroom.
I thought the hardest part would be getting rid of the old stuff, but no… choosing the new stuff is hard. I’ve been at it for over a week and have changed my mind at least a dozen times.
sari, most of the time, the store that delivers your new stuff (if you get it from a brick and morter) will do removal of the old when they leave if you want them to.
The baby shower went well. Given that the moms hang with a nerdy crowd, baby girl will begin life with some good books. I picked up the scripts on the way home and swung through the Chinese takeout for some good soup and an aigroll for supper. Let the sloth begin.
Stop the World. I want to get off.
I have been without coffee of any kind for 4 days. :eek: We decided it was one of the things wreaking havoc with my digestive equipment. I miss sitting down with a big mug of mud. It was a social habit instead of a physical habit though. We’ll see how it goes.
Tomorrow is our 30 wedding anniversary. We aren’t big on those sorts of things and won’t give each other presents, but we’ll likely go out to dinner in a nice restaurant, as opposed to our usual haunts.
Nothing else to report.
I have just heard some news that saddens me. A guy who was the best friend of my father has had a stroke and is in the hospital, partly paralyzed. He has done a lolot for me too, helping me pick out my car, and doing some fixit stuff around the house. His is a multitalented man. His wife is not in the best of health, but can still get around, and one of her sons lives with the couple(he is kind of simple, but a sweet man), so there is some help there. After my mom got the call I told her to tell his wife that if she needs anything at all, any help this week, let me know. He has done a lot for my mom too, see, after my dad was killed.
I can not give the real name, but if you have prayers or good vibes for, call him Friend, I think God would know whom is meant. by them. I hope to be able to visit, when he feels up to it.
I hope I can take some flowers or something, sure, they wilt eventually, but in my own hospital stays I love to look at them, they brighten up a room.
The handle on the fridge broke. Apprently I don’t know my own strength.

Bumba, no…coffee?:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:
I could go look and see if there is a new one but there probably isn’t. And we rolled volume. And I am dead tired. So nitey-nite all and thanks to Spidey for an idea of how to dress up Bessie the next time we do a parade. She will look LOVELY adored throughout with rubber chickens!
