When I connect to this message board, my default setting is to show posts from the “last day”. However whenever I respond to a post and my browser returns to the main page, I notice that the setting changes to “last 5 days”. I don’t recall this happening with the previous software used here; is this a phenomenon unique to me, or is it something in the browser I’m using (IE 5.01), or is it something in the software used? Manhatten or any other moderator, can you answer this?

Please check your settings; “5 days” is the default.
Do you delete your cookie files? That might be where the problem is. The system saves your settings in those files, so you might be going back to the default because, well, that’s why they’re default settings, you have nothing else for the system to fall back to.
Click on “Profile” in the upper right hand corner of any SDMB page to look at/adjust your settings.
