You dumbass.
Only partial marks for me, I’m afraid. Right about Trump Org, wrong about Donald.
The SM isn’t exactly singing from the Trumpian hymnal, either:
Dearie might have a short term as SM then.
Note that Team Trump’s other big legal argument is that he has free rein to call anything a personal record, without review by anyone.
I don’t see Dearie as buying it.
Yes, Cannon can just dismiss him for any reason or no reason at all, and since he’s not dancing like a puppet as he should be, she might just exercise that.
Of course, if the 11th Circuit calls bullshit on the whole SM thing, then it might not matter.
That would be a very bad and very risky move. Dearie is a well respected judge, while Cannon is already getting major flak for being a Trump toadie
Risky how? Who’s going to impeach her?
She has Trump the toad in her corner. If she gets fired somehow I’m sure he’d make a cozy nest for her and she knows it. How many people have tied Donald around their professional ankles and stepped off the dock?
… and how many people does Don support just as a matter of gratitude?
She will be tossed to the side once she has no value, we know that. There’s no sinecure for her with him, especially if he doesn’t regain the Presidency.
I do think if he was immortal he’d drop his kids under the bus too. It’s amazing how many people’s cost/benefit analysis goes off the rails when Trump’s around.
As for Cannon? “It is better to be at the right hand of the devil than in his path. ”
But he isn’t the devil and she was safely in his way.
It’s not about impeachment, it’s about being disgraced in the eyes of the legal profession and the members of the judiciary. In any rational world, there’s only so far you can push blatant judicial bias without it becoming career-limiting, and I would like to believe – perhaps naively – that even today’s America is still predominantly rational. Sure, Trump (and only Trump) might appoint her to anything including SCOTUS if it served his interests, but the only appointing Trump is ever gonna do from now on is more defense lawyers for himself – if he can find any.
Help us, Norms, you’re our only hope.
I love that fact that certain members of congress are now on record as condemning themselves.
Yes, because she did what he wanted. If she’d gone against him, he could have turned the fire hose of hate he controls on her for crossing him.
I wonder who was the “Republican at the switch” when this resolution came down.
Briefly; the Senate is always in session and open for business, and business is always happening in the Senate chamber. Most such business happens by unanimous consent, because most bills, resolutions, etc. are relatively uncontroversial - I’m talking about things like the aforementioned “National Estuaries Week”', naming post offices, and the like.
The party with control of the Senate keeps two senators in the chamber while it is in session, so they can move-and-second these sorts of bills through unanimous consent. The opposition party keeps one senator in the chamber at all times, to prevent the controlling party from passing significant bills via consent.
Did Schumer manage to target one particular Republican senator - the one on the floor at that time - for whom opposing this bill would be anathema? I’m not sure who that would be, but the way it came out, it worked well.
Now now. JohnT may be a dumbass, but he’s OUR dumbass.
And I hope she also knows the Trump Rule; Everything Trump Touches Turns To Shit.
and that cozy nest? It’s under the bus.
So?
I literally mean that. Nothing would give me greater pleasure than to have that asshole rant about me on Twuth Social. It, my friend, would be an honor.
If she’s scared of that… as a lot of these weaklings seem to be… than she isn’t worthy of her position (and, to your point, is proving this assumption).
Genuinely, I cannot fathom people who are scared of internet fights.
