A Perfectly Reasonable Amount of Schadenfreude about Things Happening to Trump & His Enablers (Part 1)

Thanks for that info. Adding to that clown’s myth is definitley not something I would wish to do. It’s just that for my entire life, I’ve never seen that jackass do anything but brag and he’s certainly never bragged about losing.

Complaining about losing was the point of the grift.

He believes in a lot of things that simply are not true.

Which reminds me of something…it’s really surprising to me that people believe Tan the Conman thought he would not win the presidency. Once he threw his hat in, of course he believed he would win. He cannot accept that he can lose nor that he is not liked universally.

To amplify Atamasama’s post, I’ve gone back and looked at the moment Clinton conceded and the look on his face was genuine surprise while Melania looked positively pissed. While we can never be absolutely sure what goes on in that noodle of his – I don’t want to, actually – I believe he entered the race as part ego-project and part name enhancement for his enterprises.

When he actually got the nomination, that was a big boost to his ego, he loved campaigning and receiving the adulation of the crowds at his rallies plus, the cynical side of me believes he hadn’t imagined how easy it was to make the big bux
as a campaigner – all you have to do is ask people for money and they shower you with it. You don’t even have to buy goddam frozen steaks and ship them out. Melania was sold on the idea that it would be only four months and then they could go back to what passed as a normal life for her.

All the while, the polls were predicting he was going to lose so he was setting himself up as an aggrieved candidate (“I will accept the results of the election – if I win.”) and could continue to ‘campaign’ and grift even more money out of people to fight the Deep State™ who’d stolen the election from him.

Then he won. That was an incredibly powerful boost to his ego. Like an evil Sally Fields (“You like me. You really like me.”) it amplified his already-there tendencies to believe he could do no wrong and the rest is (unfortunately) history.

The thing that I remember was the photo of him when he met with Obama in the Oval Office. The look on his face was like “Holy shit that’s a lot of work I’m going to have to do!” I kind of wonder at what point did he decide “Fuck it, I’m just going to watch Fox all day.”

Hilarious seeing a clapping-yet-concerned Stephen Miller (far left) looking over at Trump.

Ivanka does not smile or clap. Just turns her head and looks at him (It).

Trump winning to his own surprise always reminded me of this old MadTV sketch:

Basically, a guy sobers up from being black-out drunk to learn that while he was blacked out, he decided to launch a presidential campaign, won, served his first term, won reelection, and is just now sobering up to his own horror at what has happened. As a Secret Service agent is explaining everything to him.

For context, this aired in 1996. Long before Trump, and even before W. So not referencing either of them. I don’t think it was making a political commentary on any real candidate, just a crazy fantasy scenario.

Scary that it has some parallels to Donald’s election. (Except fortunately Donny didn’t win the second time. Oh, and the drunk guy in the sketch has some real accomplishments, including acquiring Saskatchewan from Canada by trading them Aerosmith. I can’t think of anything that Trump did that was so noteworthy.)

Seth Meyers takes a closer look at the Georgia election. This is great.

I don’t think this news has been posted here:

Here’s another one in the category of news story that you’d swear is an Onion headline. Trump says you can’t sue the Trump Org because it doesn’t exist:

Another useless article that doesn’t tell you any more than the headline. It doesn’t even answer the most obvious and basic question: Does it exist an an entity?

Hey, the MadTV President was amazing. He cured cancer by taking the heads of the 9 largest corporations and giving them cancer.

I’m going to assume that any legal filings against what we commonly refer to as “The Trump Org” spell out in detail exactly which companies are involved and then says “hereafter referred to as The Trump Org” or something along those lines. Like the child he is, Trump is putting his own hands over his own eyes and saying “you can’t see me!” There is no reason why we should dignify this by wondering if he is correct and we can’t actually see him. But if Trump’s lawyers want to try that in front of a judge I’m sure it will be a fun day in court at least.

It’s a fair question. We get motions like that if we sue “Farmers Insurance” rather than “Farmers Insurance Exchange” or Farmers Insurance of Washington" There are a lot of “holding companies” that are simply brand names can’t be sued. And, of course, a lot that can. It can be complicated and–depending on the facts–this could be a legitimate motion.

I keep waiting for the words “gold fringe” to somehow be used here.

That picture is priceless. Yes, folks, here is the crack Trump legal team:

We all knew crack was involved somehow.
Release the Cracken!

What I love about it is that there’s nothing subtle about the idiocy of Team Trump. They look like clowns at a clown show. The self-parody appears to be the result of being too stupid to be self-aware.

Maybe he could try to follow up with an argument that you can’t sue him because he doesn’t exist either.
