Don’t be such a pessimist!
Things absolutely change. There will be a completely new person doing the exact same thing Carlson was, with the same amount of success. But it’s a new person!

The scum-sucking bottom feeder will resurface on Breitbart or some other equally offensive public/private venue to continue spreading his brand of “public service”.
You are probably correct. But those other platforms don’t have nearly the audience or clout of FNN. Speaking personally, I don’t think I’ve seen Glenn Beck on TV since he left Fox. And that’s a Good Thing.
Nobody will be able to affect that “prince watching a peasant get kicked by a mule” smirk combined with a bit of fake concern. Thank goodness! I’m so sick of his face!
Oh, please. They love vacuum…so long as it’s between the ears of their viewers.
And that cackle! I didn’t watch the show, but just seeing clips here and there and every time I hear that sound, I want to hide under my bed.
Not to mention that Fucker-patented fake-puzzled expression with the slitted eyes and mouth shaped like a weasel’s asshole when expressing recreational outrage. Not that I ever watched Fox, but I’ve seen too much of it in the news. Fucker Carlson will NOT be missed.
A white power vacuum? (I know I’m not the first to say it, but I still love it).
What are you talking about?
I read that as " A white powder vacuum". Wouldn’t surprise me if Ol’ Tuck was into that.
It would explain some of his expressions.
I thought he only had one.
He’s the Mister Potato Head of cable television.
This ‘parting of the ways’ between Fox and Tucker, frees him up to run as Trump’s VP.
I was hoping it would free him to further his stated worldview by volunteering to serve on the Ukrainian Front.
Judge in the Carroll trial wants to know if Trump will or will not appear in court.
The judge demanded to know this week whether Trump will appear, telling the defense that it was time to “fish or cut bait.”
Considering Trump, if Tucker wants that, Trump will be amicable for a few months and then humiliate him in public by dumping him in the worst way possible as a VP candidate. Trump is unlikely to forget what the real felling’s TC has for Trump. Sure, there was an interview where Trump let TC genuflect at him after knowing that, but Trump is the type of guy to let that happen to prepare his mark for a huge humiliation later.
I’m not sure. If Carlson continues to be immensely popular and influential in some medium as a shaper of public opinion, I think Trump will be happy to continue allowing him to genuflect at the Trumpian altar. I think Trump cares much more about fostering current popularity and profit than about punishing apostates to his cause.
He loves attacking people he regards as his enemies, of course, but I don’t think his personal resentments will ever outweigh his pursuit of personal advantage. If he gains prestige or profit from attacking someone, he’ll do it, but he doesn’t want to appear to his followers as a weakling fruitlessly fulminating about somebody that they actually like. If MAGAts continue to like Carlson, Trump won’t be bashing him. (Famous last words.)
I wonder how many of them actually like Carlson, as a person or a pundit, as opposed to them liking what he was saying, and where he was saying it. Having him spewing their flavor of nonsense on a major network gave them something to point to what challenged on their nonsense. Will he still be useful in that role if he’s on a fringe network like OANN, or doing a podcast?
I mean, look at Glenn Beck. He was also popular with this crowd, but when Fox dumped him, they stopped listening. How often have we seen that? Someone they follow devoutly falls from the good graces of the powers that be, and suddenly, they’re unpersons.
Why would Carlson even want to be VP?
Even without being on TV, he stands to make millions, if not tens of millions, a year on the conservative speech circuit. If he sets himself up in radio or a podcast, even more.
Even Trump didn’t want to be President at first. He just wanted to be a perpetual candidate (to grift the rubes). And then he learned he could parlay the Presidency into personal legal immunity.
Not much of that applies to Carlson. He already grifts the rubes plenty without being VP and he’d hurt his income stream by having to sit in DC all the time. And I’m pretty sure a lot of prosecutors would have significantly fewer qualms charging a VP than a P.
