Or like this:
(explanation: “Stollen” is also German for adit or stulm.)
Indeed, but my link is in English, not just a picture. Be it as it may, I can claim with confidence that NO COUNTRY WAS EVER ABSOLUTELY DESTROYED because of a Christmas Cake.
On a more serious note: does HeWhoseNameShallNotBeSpokenButOnlyFarted’s tweet mean he renounces any possible attorney-client privilege?
There most definitely was a fruitcake involved.
somebody had to
It sounds like a definitive statement that there was no attorney client relationship, and thus no privilege.
An attorney-client relationship does not depend upon the existence of a signed engagement letter, nor is the identity of the client necessarily determined by who pays the lawyer; rather, one test for the existence of an attorney-client relationship is the subjective reasonable belief of the would-be client that the lawyer represents the client.
It’s all moot anyway. Any privilege claims would probably be nullified by the crime fraud exception.
In the case of Chesebro, Judge McAfee had already ruled that there would be no attorney-client privilege protection due to the crime fraud exception. He ruled on that defense motion shortly before Chesebro chose to enter his plea. So no help there.
This thread might be a good fit for this. George Clooney PSA.
So what that tweet claims is that Sidney Powell does not know anything first hand and therefore anything she claims in court is only hearsay and should be dismissed, specially if implicating him?
Technically, it was a Twuth, not a tweet.
He doesn’t say she didn’t personally observe anything. (although he might later). This twuth only says she wasn’t his attorney.
I just have to say “twuth” is so perfectly Trump. What a legacy.
In other words, “when I say I was being advised by all the best lawyers, I obviously don’t mean this lawyer, who wasn’t my lawyer.”
That would be true for matters and topics that the overseeing judge decided were open, due to the crime fraud exception, but not to anything else. And the judge would only be deciding on matters that the prosecutor brought to the party.
If Powell was aware of other matters - criminal or otherwise - that would be of interest to the government then having a non-legal, “just friends” connection to Trump would give her the opportunity to divulge those other tidbits.
That’s an interesting point.
Probably not relevant, to be fair, but I’m sure that his lawyers aren’t appreciative of his post.
Screw the mango manchurian. He tried to give her a top secret clearance that was slow walked to death by saner aides during the bunker session. Even pillow guy was present.
For all the good it did him!
Whenever I see Trump using “stollen” instead of “stolen,” I get hungry for pastry. But I’d prefer an apple strudel.
I’d prefer not to see anything by or about trump.
