A Perfectly Reasonable Amount of Schadenfreude about Things Happening to Trump & His Enablers (Part 2)

Probably not in the short term though, right? Ouch

Rawstory is one of my favorite occasional sources of Schadenfreude, despite the fact that they’ve published approximately 47,000 articles with some breathless version of the headline ‘TRUMP IS DONE!’ constantly since practically the day he became President. But who knows, at some point there actually may be a wolf behind all that crying.

Also, how many news article headlines contain the phrase ‘Holy cats’? I think the article is worth a post just for that reason alone…

Also, another anonymous “high ranking” trump admin official is now bashing trump. Reminds me of the Op-Ed letter to the NY Times that came out during trump’s term: “I Am Part of the Resistance Inside the Trump Administration”.

Anyway, in the article about Jonathan Karl’s new book, the key takeaway:

“He lacks any shred of human decency, humility or caring,” the former White House official told Karl. “He is morally bankrupt, breathtakingly dishonest, lethally incompetent, and stunningly ignorant of virtually anything related to governing, history, geography, human events or world affairs. He is a traitor and a malignancy in the nation, and represents a clear and present danger to our democracy, and the rule of law.”

Who could it be? I understand the fear of retribution from trump-nuts, but staying anonymous doesn’t really help make their point. They probably won’t be anonymous for long though, just like the NY Times op-ed letter was soon revealed to be Miles Taylor, former chief of staff in the Department of Homeland Security.

It was I immediately thought of.

( Miles Taylor, says about Trump)

Well, yes Mr. Taylor, but could you tell us how you really feel?

I’m sorry, my post wasn’t clear. In the recent article I posted, yet another anonymous, supposedly high level official in the trump admin has come out bashing trump in Jonathan Karl’s new book “Tired of Winning”, and I said it reminded me of the anonymous NY Times Op-Ed letter that came out during the trump admin, and later turned out to be Miles Taylor. Sorry for the misunderstading.

Ah, gotcha.

(Unidentified person says about Trump)

Media Bias Fact Check seems to indicate that they have a good history of factual reporting.

But I’d say that I’ve never seen anything good happen in life from finding a more sensationalist version of something, nor from finding a source who is further removed from the underlying information. If they only ever report what others are reporting, then you have one extra level of telephone going on - and by people who are known sensationalists.

You can say completely true things, “Tabacco contains many natural phytonutrients to help you relax and is a great activity for community building.” Factuality isn’t a perfect proxy for reasonableness. And there’s a whole lot of evidence in the world that a lack of reasonableness, over a very long period of time, leads to negative outcomes.

Yes, Rawstory is generally a news aggregator that takes an article from a more ‘reputable’ source, and while keeping the basic facts accurate, rewrites the article, punching things up with a more breathless, anti-trump tone, especially in the headline.

Usually a RS article will have a line saying something like “according to [link]“reputable news source”[/link], blah blah…”. Sometimes I’ll click through to the somewhat slightly more reputable source to share here, or if I link the Rawstory article directly, I’ll usually add a qualifier, like I did above. I’ve compared Rawstory to the ‘fast food’ of trump Schadenfruede-- delicious, but best in moderation-- in large quantities, maybe not so good for you.

Don’t fall for it. I had the urge to fling poo for a couple of days, then nuthin’.

You got fake monkey glands. If you had gotten the real thing, you would have had nuttin’.

That’s why they call them nuts, I see.
I was wondering in the other thread next door about stupid labelling in the USA why the obsession with nuts, peanuts and allergens. Now everything falls into place.
And no: peanuts are not nuts, they are pulses. We got the memo.

Not good enough for Wikipedia, FWIW.

In 1920s America a guy was just surgically inserting monkey and goat glands into the abdomens of men. It was absolutely bizarre.

You just had to get gross after I made such a highbrow post. Shame!

For clarity, for most Americans, the word “pulse” is not used for plants. We’d use “legume” or “pea” instead. Typically nuts and peanuts are categorized separately in any case.

Thanks, ignorance fought. Legume it will be from now on for me too.

Careful, it could be dangerous; You’d have no pulse.

There’s no pleasing some people…

…but I will vote for him if he becomes the GOP nominee, because DemonratsPizzaGroomerHerEmailsCRTWarOnChristmasWokeWokeWoke

Trump is using a rapist’s defence. It could not have been a crime because it was consensual. They wanted it, they were begging for it. Did you see how they smiled at him and said such nice things about him? How could they possibly have been surprised when he reached out and grabbed them by the… money?
