A Perfectly Reasonable Amount of Schadenfreude about Things Happening to Trump & His Enablers (Part 2)

Is this a play on, “In Russian, Putin kills YOU!” kinda jokes because otherwise I am not getting it.

Catch up = ketchup

We’re watching The Man Who Came To Dinner on TCM.

Doctor Bradley is the greatest living argument for mercy killing.

I’ll just leave that here, not making any suggestions or implications.

You’ve got a lot of bottle making a pun like that.

Mitt Romney would like to have a word with you.

This weeks episode of “This American Life” about the dysfunction of the Michigan Republican party is worth a listen if you have time., or if you prefer reading there is also a transcript.

Basically the crazies decide to elect one of their own as chairman despite having no experience or business contacts for fund raising. When the party eventually finds itself broke, one faction develops that calls for her ouster on the (probably unfounded) grounds that she embezzled the money. Both those in favor and against her ouster blame the other side of being part of a Democrat conspiracy to destroy the party from within, and there is much face eating and schadenfreude to be had by all.

IMHO here is the money quote:

But what’s brought them all together running this party is their lack of trust in any kind of political leadership. They are a very suspicious, conspiracy-minded group. And that’s how they look at everything, including each other.

Heh, I heard that yesterday as I was running around. That truly is the money quote, and largely what I’ve thought of the Republican party over the last seven years or so.

Damn, the Democrats are powerful. Like, absurdly powerful. They can steal elections so smoothly it looks like no cheating happened whatsoever, they can turn all of Trump’s closest advisors against him (assuming they weren’t infiltrators all along) and they can do the same thing to other Republicans anywhere and everywhere they find them. Have any of these Republican dummies ever considered switching sides? Wouldn’t it be more fun to do this kind of shit to someone instead of always being on the receiving end?

And don’t forget that sweet sweet Soros money that we all get.

That This American Life podcast was great; chock full of schadenfreude. I hope the Republican Party machine in every purple state goes through the same collapse.

I rolled my eyes when they made that loon the head of the party. I’m not at all surprised at the outcome. I’m also quite gratified by the outcome. It makes me all warm and fuzzy. lol

We listened to that show and laughed at that each believing the other side is a “deep state operation”. Nothing but conspiracy theories and nutbaggery. Yet half the population nods their heads in agreement.

I may have missed it, but I’m enjoying how the Lincoln Project (a group of republicans opposing trump) is leaning into the rumor that trump smells bad.

Apparently it started with a tweet from Adam Kinzinger, former Republican congressman.

And resulted in an ad comparing donald to literal horse shit.

Is it juvenile and petty? Yes it is. And that’s exactly why it’s the kind of thing that would drive donald crazy.

Of course he stinks. Look at his diet.

(snicker)

You know, it’s not that it’s tone deaf, or people are taking it the wrong way, or forgetting who John Cleese is – it’s that I follow him on Twitter and he apparently feels the need to respond to everybody who’d pissed at him. And re-Tweeting them. My Following page is nothing him saying, “Oh yeah?” in one form or another.

He’s had years of accolades and people telling him how clever and funny he was (which is mostly true) and so he has to show off his intelligence as often as possible.

But can’t we spare a moment for poor Kari Lake? Her First Amendment rights are being trampled! She’s just telling the truth! And that mean old Deep State justice system is persecuting her! Trump/Lake 2024! (That last bit is my prediction.)

Good on Richer - more power to him.

And I think John Cleese is right about pretty much everything but the hair.
