It seems logically impossible to me that somebody with no fashion sense or good taste could choose someone with both: if she had the criteria to select her advisers she could do it herself. It’s not like selecting a wardrobe is hard unpleasant work, in fact most fashionistas claim to enjoy it, specially when money is not a problem (cough…). Now picture what kind of designer would want to work for the Trumps, and you get the logical result.
And no, I really don’t care about that either, you know.
Yes, that is premium level schadenfreude. Thanks for the link! Nice reading.
Today’s Schadenfreude so far: whatever the orange conman may or may not be planning re the $450+ million bond, he can’t work on it this morning because he’s in court for a hearing about a date for his criminal trial in the hush money case. It would be super cool if later on he can’t fight seizure of his properties because he’s in jail for unrelated criminal convictions.
What is the time deadline for trump to pay the bond today-- I can’t seem to find anything online about the exact time. Is it by end of business day, like 5pm EST?
I was wondering that, too. I think I read on CNN that Letitia James could start seizure proceedings as soon as tomorrow, so I would infer yes, he probably has until close of business today in New York.
(And he may be spending most of that time in court for the hush money hearing, leaving the bond negotiations in the capable hands of Eric and Don Jr! )
It’s well-known that he just outright cheats in golf (a shock, I know). Rick Reilly wrote a very entertaining article on the subject, if I recall correctly. As I also recall, he won a club championship in the last couple of years by insisting they accept a score or two he shot outside the tournament rounds because he was too busy to actually play in the whole tournament. I’m sure in these unscrutinized rounds they found just enough strokes for him to win.
So, no need to muscle anybody. Just make up shit, like they do with elections. They could engrave his name on the trophy before the tournament begins.
Despite the fact that I would love to see his assets be seized, what is the thinking amongst us on whether that scenario might actually be beneficial to him politically-- create sympathy toward him, and bolster the lie that the ‘Deep State’ is out to get him? I’ve heard this argument.
Or would it hurt his political fortunes (as well as his actual fortunes ), since his entire mythos is built around him being a ‘winner’ and a genius businessman?
Wild speculation is he declares bankruptcy to throw a wrench in the whole thing.
He claims to his supporters it’s not really him who is bankrupt it is the corporation and he is just being super clever and bamboozeling the corrupt democrat authorities with 5 dimensional business moves , because that’s who he is.
Obviously a bankrupt person running for president is a huge security issue, but he was to start with and that won’t make any difference to his loyal supporters and those with other agendas who will benefit from him being elected.
Ohh appeals court just lowered it to 175million according to cnn
Any sympathy he might get might be tempered by his almost certain complete meltdown. Look at how much he’s freaking out over a looming deadline, now imagine what he’ll be like when his assets actually start disappearing.
Even now, at almost the last minute, I don’t think he really believes that this is really going to happen to him. Guys like that really don’t believe that consequences will ever hit them, otherwise they’d at least try to not be quite so shitty. When those consequences actually hit, though, he’s going to explode.
