Trump Media auditor charged by SEC with ‘massive fraud,’ barred from public company audits (Link is to AOL.)
The auditing firm for Trump Media and the auditor’s owner were charged Friday with “massive fraud” by the Securities and Exchange Commission for work that affected more than 1,500 SEC filings, the federal regulator announced.
The auditor, BF Borgers CPA and its owner Benjamin Borgers have agreed to be permanently suspended from practicing as accountants before the SEC, and also agreed to pay a combined $14 million in civil penalties, with admitting or denying the allegations, the SEC said.

BF Borgers CPA was described as a “sham audit mill” and even their audit of TMTG said something about “concerns as an ongoing viable business” or similar to that effect.
Get involved with Trump, lose your business and pay $14,000,000. Sounds about right.
Should be noted that the company has lots of clients and they’re charged with fraud for their work with many of them. The fact that TMTG was one of them gets lots of headlines the case wouldn’t get otherwise, but it’s really not that significant.

I’ve said in other places - I don’t think Trump really wanted to win. Since the Apprentice was dropped, he wanted to start his own TV network so he would still get facetime. It would be the Anti-Hillary Network.
Then he got the job that gave him power to bully, and facetime. I doubt he really like it though. He had to follow at least SOME rules, and had some folks telling him what he can and can’t do. A totally alien concept to him.
Now he wants to be elected again hoping the power will keep him out of legal trouble. He’s probably right, at least for four years.
I don’t remember which member of the armed forces Congress was grilling not so long about about being woke, but he testified that he read all sorts of stuff he didn’t agree with. He’d read Marx for example. Subscribing to someone’s newsletter doesn’t automatically mean they agree with its contents. Someone from the FBI might have a legitimate reason to read this garbage just to keep track of what these people think.
Hell, they got off easy! None of them are going to prison… yet.
