A Perfectly Reasonable Amount of Schadenfreude about Things Happening to Trump & His Enablers (Part 2)

While there won’t be a decision until November, I’m pretty confident justice should eventually prevail here.

I thought it was BoBo who had the “high body count”? I can’t imagine that many men wanting to…I can’t even finish that sentence, I just had lunch…

Yeah right, Laura’s demented lies will cost Trump the election.

Drew Carey is a national treasure.

Some topical humor:

This one would fit in Stupid Gun News as well:

What is WRONG with this moron (Vance, not Carey, obviously). He’s causing all this hate and discontent in the state he is supposed to represent in the Senate, not trying to solve any real problems that may exist, in Springfield or anywhere else. This bullshit could very well get someone killed, and it will absolutely be his fault for spinning people up.

I’m sure they have a plan for this eventuality; Blame Kamala Harris.

He’s just showing how much like Dear Grifter he is. And neither one of them believes their job while in elective office is to actually represent the entire constituency, just their chosen few supporters.

For someone living a privileged life of fiction, there’s no upside to addressing, or even accepting, reality. All that matters is they get to hear what and only what they want to hear.

And just like his Maxi-me, he’ll do nothing about it other than watch it unfold on television in orgiastic delight.

Did you not see the debate or any reports of it? They don’t have plans. They only have concepts of plans.

Just like all the other deaths the Right is responsible for, his attitude will be somewhere on the spectrum between “indifferent” to “gloating” depending on who dies. If anything the thought of being responsible for it will give him a little thrill of power.

As for the welfare of the state he represents, he’d happily see them all dead if it got him and Trump elected. To the Right other people exist only to be exploited and abused; from his viewpoint if they die in order to advance his career, they are dying for the purpose they were born for.

The literary term is spear carrier. (The link goes to Wikipedia.)

The 1968 Nebula Award-winning novel Rite of Passage, by Alexei Panshin, mentions the protagonist’s observations of the role of spear carriers in real life:

A spear carrier is somebody who stands in the hall when Caesar passes, comes to attention and thumps his spear. A spear carrier is the anonymous character cut down by the hero as he advances to save the menaced heroine. A spear carrier is a character put in a story to be used like a piece of disposable tissue. In a story, spear carriers never suddenly assert themselves by throwing their spears aside and saying, “I resign. I don’t want to be used.” They are there to be used, either for atmosphere or as minor obstacles in the path of the hero. The trouble is that each of us is his own hero, existing in a world of spear carriers. We take no joy in being used and discarded. I was finding then, that wet, chilly, unhappy night, that I took no joy in seeing other people used and discarded.

And, switching back to schadenfreude happening to the melon felon’s peanut-gallery (video on Yahoo) entitled:

Fox News show goes dark in middle of Sean Hannity’s anti-immigrant rant

If they have had an affair, I don’t want her to disclose it either for my own mental health.

Physical access is being limited due to her “intimate nature” claims?

Oh, I think someone’s sleeping on his gold-plated couch tonight!

Assuming this is real, (you can never be too sure of anything on Twitter these days), it warmed my heart a little bit this morning. I’ve always had a soft spot for Drew Carey, big fan of his stand-up and sitcom back in the 90’s. As far as I know he’s never been overtly political but it does seem to fit what I know of him personally.

I found this observation insightful. In game terms we would call them NPCs. (Non Player Characters) These are characters controlled by the computer that are simply there to facilitate the players experience. They may have names, personalities, motivations etc… But they’re not “real people” in the sense that they have no agency, and they can’t affect the progress of the game unlike the human player.

It is of course an old truism that “everyone is the hero of their own story.” But this thinking takes that to insanely narcissistic levels.

Pterry’s dedication to Guards! Guards!:

“They may be called the Palace Guard, the City Guard, or the Patrol. Whatever the name, their purpose in any work of heroic fantasy is identical: it is, round about Chapter Three (or ten minutes into the film) to rush into the room, attack the hero one at a time, and be slaughtered. No one ever asks them if they want to.
This book is dedicated to those fine men.”

Atta girl, Wonderwoman!

That’s a pretty darned nice quote. Almost felt like she was directly speaking to her sister, like here:

Thanksgiving is going to be awkward this year. I can’t think this was easy for Lynda to do.

Maybe the Cheneys will have her over.

My friend from high school works for the DNC. His brother, who was (and still is) an asshole supreme, is (maybe was) the head of the NC Republican party.

I seem to remember them both being interviewed bt NPR, and at one point, Brad (DNC) telling his brother, "This is why Mom doesn’t have you over for Thanksgiving. "

trump’s handlers: you need to stop getting mixed up in petty squabbles and potentially alienating large swaths of potential voters.
