A Perfectly Reasonable Amount of Schadenfreude about Things Happening to Trump & His Enablers (Part 2)

“Show me the man and I’ll show you the crime”

Why do they need anything? One of the incoming twerps has already said they’re going to prosecute journalists for helping Biden rig the presidential election.

Hell, they could manufacture a whole new crime just by continuing to harass him. Issue new Congressional subpoenas every week demanding he answer questions about almost anything. At some point he’ll snap, and refuse to show, and they can hold him in criminal contempt for not showing.

They really don’t. Trump in his first term was fond of using the DOJ to launch “investigations” against people solely to harass them. Now, there was no legal basis for doing such a thing, and there was no evidence of wrongdoing, so no charges or indictments or anything came up. But the investigations alone accomplished Trump’s goal of using his position to punish people he didn’t like, and I expect that sort of thing to be even more prevalent in this second term.

The reason why Trump claimed that every prosecution against him was an example of weaponizing the DOJ is because he did it when he was in that position. The fact that there was overwhelming evidence that Trump was actually guilty doesn’t matter at all.

And in “No shit, Sherlock” news:

MAGA Filmmaker Trump Praised Admits 2020 Election Fraud Doc Was B.S.

MAGA filmmaker Dinesh D’Souza issued a statement on Sunday admitting that his most notorious project — the 2020 election conspiracy film 2,000 Mules —- was produced “on the basis of inaccurate information provided to me and my team.”

The statement includes an apology to Mark Andrews, a Georgia man who sued D’Souza, Salem Media Group, and True The Vote (his partners on the film) for defamation in 2022.

MAGAt: “And how much is the Deep State paying D’Souza to say that?”

Why does Trump get away with so much? Why do Christian conservatives support a dishonest, foul mouthed, adulterous pagan, who rarely attends church?

Because he’s not a Democrat. Supporting a Democrat would be not only wrong, but evil.

“God works in mysterious ways”, essentially. He gives them what they want - the persecution of women, LGBTQ people and unbelievers - and so they support him because he’s doing God’s Work. It doesn’t matter how horrible he is, he’s serving God’s purposes and therefore not supporting him is a sin.

There are various Biblical justifications. It was common during his first term, for example, to compare him to the Persian ruler Cyrus, who started out as an evil pagan but wound up serving God’s purposes with his actions, despite never believing in the “right” religion.

Now there’s a movement to consider him the second coming of Jehu, the “warrior king” who killed the evil Jezebel (a female ruler who promoted heretical beliefs; see if you can puzzle out the modern connection). In the end, Jehu was condemned for being too violent and bloodthirsty, but he did still restore the kingdom of Israel. In this interpretation, we can believe Trump has bad motivations for his vengeance, but he’ll still accomplish what needs to be accomplished. So we can like that as an objective, and support him in the short term, while reserving the right to discard his leadership at a later date.

It’s nonsense, but it’s scary, scary nonsense. But that’s the hardcore evangelical discourse at the moment.

Christians have no moral. They got a silly book to tell them what to hate. They are pickers and choosers, from that asenine book. They know nothing, care only for themselves, and are egoists. Much like Trump himself, although he has never been a christian as far as i can tell. But he is an opporturnist, as someone above me mentioned. So he will abuse any part of the population as he see fit, to win elections and avoid prosecutions.

Well, thank you for saying so. We Christians appreciate your opinion.

How is that evolving? If I go to what was linked as infowars some posts ago it seems to me a site completely in favor of Alex Jones. Did not stay long, but what is the situation in the meantime?

But that doesn’t even make sense. It’s the Republicans who are the party of evil* (the Democrats are just waiting for their turn at the title, once everyone inclined the cast a vote for a Republican has left the electorate, and then the Republicans Party disbands).

*(There’s even a thread on a message board with the smartest hippest people on the internet that says so, right in the title.)

It’s spelled asinine. Your position has thus been invalidated.

It’s a page with a bunch of articles but there are no actual links to the articles. They are about recent stuff, like South Korea declaring Martial Law and Hunter Bidens pardon. There’s an email sign up box that doesn’t work. There’s a header at the top to choose different categories and it doesn’t work.

But at least many of them can spell….

These are people who nominated and supported a man who has 6 kids by 6 different women, abandoned all of them, paid for at least 1 abortion we know of and is dumb as a stump against a Baptist minister because the minister is a democrat.

Trump is willing to protect guns, blast gays and outlaw abortions, and appoint judges who will do the same. It really does come down to that.

Not so sure about that.

Of course, he’d probably target people he doesn’t like for that.

If by “protect guns” you mean “oppose sensible gun control regulations” then absolutely he will do that.
