I now wish I never knew about this. Like some of the videos I watched that still haunt me (beheading videos in particular). That’s why I didn’t watch the videos of ICE murdering good people in MN. Stuff gets in my head and I can’t apply brain bleach.
I am so glad my wife and I decided to not have children. I wouldn’t want kids to grow up in this fucked up time. I’d love someone to say “no, it’s a great time to grow up”. I don’t see it.

I just started reading a book by Ian Buruma, Stay Alive – Berlin 1939-1945. Very interesting, I wish such a book had been written by a native German speaker, that might have made it even better. I can recommend it wholeheartedly.
In this book there is a quote by Robert Ley, a despicable corrupt nazi, heart- and soulless, a odious horrible person all around. He was the head of the German Labor Front, among many other titles he collected. That is the quote:
The Führer is always right. Obey the Führer. The mother is the highest expression of womanhood. The soldier is the highest expression of manhood. God is not punishing us by this war, he is giving us the chance to prove whether we are worthy of our freedom.
If this quote sounds like “Napoleon is always right!”, of Animal Farm fame, that is surely no coincidence. Orwell found inspiration in nazi Germany to critizise Stalin. And if the thing about the soldier sounds like Kegsbreath I would only object that Kegsbreath does not read history, so it is probably a case of convergent evoinvolution. And all the incels and women haters and wannabe oppressors? Same shit, different latrine (–> see Donnerbalken).

Yes. I was expecting another long drawn-out fight like we saw with the NC Supreme Court seat back in 2024. I guess he didn’t want the bad press that would have resulted from it.
I was too! But now Berger has conceded, and was apparently “very kind” on the phone according to the local news. So I guess that’s the end? I was really expecting something to come out of Berger’s complaint that incomplete ballots shouldn’t be counted.
