A Perfectly Reasonable Amount of Schadenfreude about Things Happening to Trump & His Enablers (Part 3)

I hadn’t thought of that, and it makes sense.

I believe that the CEO is a hired position at Michigan credit unions; it’s not a traditional corporation.

I was wondering the same thing. It’s a small credit union with ~5k members in a purple region. It wouldn’t take too many customers to close their accounts to cause real pain.

Since the story went international, I imagine just fielding the phone calls from irate customers, journalists, and randos probably overwhelmed the staff. That alone is reason enough to fire the CEO – especially since that’s the fastest way to get back to normal.

Makes sense.

Her family decided to return from their trip early because Smith said she was getting death threats.

I don’t believe for a minute that they were getting death threats. (Not that I’d blame anyone for asking them how they’d like a poke in the snot locker.)

Yeah, I don’t believe that.

Her job security indicator was certainly flatlining, though, which she felt necessitated a response

I think there are more than enough online kooks to respond to any big story with threats regardless of the political or cultural angle. Some might be actual death threats and some might be death wishes (“I hope you drown in that lake”). I’m sure the target doesn’t differentiate.

If I do business with Canadians I’m in a tough enough spot as an American company without my CEO antagonizing them.

Signaling support for Trump and MAGA is pretty anti-American. I don’t know how my employees vote, of course, but if any were publicly supporting Trump, they’d have a problem remaining employed.

Apparently she posted privately on Facebook, then her sister re-posted it online without any “AI” tag. Thanks, sis, for (ha! unintentionally!) outing her your gnarly sister!

SCOTUS grows some balls, a little anyway.

SCOTUS has struck down the Missouri 2025 Republican redistricting for a third time, upholding the finding of the state Supreme Court that the redistricting was never the law in Missouri, and was illegally used in the primary.

This time Justice Kavanaugh ordered the federal district courts not to intervene in the state election again, and not to oppose SCOTUS. Only SCOTUS can decide to overturn a SCOTUS decision. He’s not messing around, lol.

And some more good news.

The prosecutor who committed misconduct in the Chicago ICE protestor case, has resigned from DoJ so that she could intervene in the case. She claims she is responsible for her own misconduct, but she was obeying direct orders from US Attorney Boutros.

She also was told by Boutros that if she offered testimony against the DoJ, she’d be fired. So she quit instead.

She’s both defending herself from public allegations that she says are not true, and exposing the corruption in the US Attorney’s office. This is a highly unusual move, it will be interesting to see what the judge says.

Here’s more on that. I loves me a Trumpian circular firing squad!

Cheeto Mussolini is also be wearing out his favorite shibboleth.

Sigh, it’s so hard to get good scapegoats these days. Back in my day when you threw somebody under a bus they stayed under the bus.

It’s much more comfortable to stay under the bus if you have no spine. It makes you extra flexible and you can flatten yourself a bit easier.

A friend of mine was one of the Broadview Six. This story gives me particular schadenfreude.

Jack Smith testified before Congress today. He encountered a lot of ridiculous behavior from Trump’s enablers today; at one point John Kennedy asked him if he believed in the Easter bunny.

But there was a wonderful moment of schadenfreude. Eric Schmitt, a Republican from Missouri, was accusing Smith of colluding with Fannie Willis, the prosecutor in Georgia who was sandbagged before her prosecution could be concluded.

He suggested that Smith had gone to Atlanta right after news of her affair became public. Jack Smith denied any connection.

Schmitt’s “gotcha”’moment was the fact that he had text messages where Smith had said that he had attended an Atlanta Hawks basketball game that very day!

One problem: Jack Smith was texting about attending a women’s College basketball game, because he had wanted to see Caitlyn Clark play. The game was in Maryland, and the University of Maryland was taking on Clark’s team, the University of Iowa Hawkeyes. Smith confirmed that he was in attendance with U.S. Marshalls (who were giving him protection)

In his zeal to put Jack Smith in Atlanta, Eric Schmitt confused the two mascots.

Republicans are nothing if not dumb.

So Kristi Noem has filed for divorce.

Does this mean that Corey will be moving from sidepiece to the main event?

Senator Klobuchar brought that up…that he confused the Hawks and Hawkeyes.

Except nowhere on that two-texts-poster does it say anything about either the Hawks or Hawkeyes. Schmitt and his staff saw the date of 2/3/2024 and that Smith was going to a game that night. So they assumed it was the Hawks/Warriors game…even though there were probably dozens of college and pro games that night.

Fucking idiots.

It was also mentioned that the Hawks were the only college mens or pro mens games that night. Being republicans who are “very concerned about women’s sports” they appear to have not thought about, you know, women’s sports.
MSNOW also had video of Mr. Smith at the Hawkeye’s game in Maryland. I also, fail to see why his very presence in Atlanta would automatically mean he was colluding with Ms. Willis. What absolute insane, bumbling, idiots these magas are.
