Is there a team in Genoa called the Hams? (or Salamis?)
Not sure, but there is a team in Nippon Professional Baseball named the Hokkaido Nippon-Ham Fighters.
Heheheheheh.
Yet their stock keeps going up.
They could play the Frankfurt Ers.
Well, it doesn’t “keep going up” but so far it hasn’t really hurt it overall. Here is a chart:
Basically, it had a huge surge following last year’s election, then dived as Trump took office. It is now at a level close to where it was prior to the election.
And if you look at the 5 year history, the stock has really gone up and down a lot, like a roller coaster. The price as it is now is around the midpoint of that up-and-down over that timeframe. In other words, it’s basically normal.
The price of Tesla was relatively flat (and very low) starting in 2015 (which is only as far back as that chart will go for me) until early 2020, where it surged pretty steadily until early 2021, which is when it started its roller coaster up-and-down. Since early 2021, the lowest the stock dipped was around $100 a share at the start of 2023, and it hasn’t gotten close to that low since then (the next-lowest dip was around $150 in April of last year). It’s currently above $250. So I’d say you can’t really say that the company’s price is hitting an unprecedented low until it gets below $100 again. If Tesla continues to struggle to make a profit, then we might see that happen, but I expect that would take a while.
The highest the stock ever reached was $426 last December, at the top of the post-election surge, and the next-highest value was $406 at the start of November in 2021.
The whole market is all-in on Tesla. Everyone knows the stock value is overinflated, but they also know that if it collapses, everyone loses. So they keep up the charade because they don’t have any other options.
That would explain the disparity between poor profits and stock prices.
I was assuming this was a situation where it would take time to catch up, but if it’s being propped up that would also explain it.
Of course, where stock is concerned, if at any point panic sets in the thing will nose-dive, as people selling will prompt other people to sell. But it might never get that far. Maybe this backlash against Tesla over Musk is temporary and they will ride it out.
Given their data handling practices, if it went under, it would be more of a mess than usual. They must have so much data on so many people, and I know I don’t trust them with the integrity and security of that data even in good times, much less when the rats starting fleeing the ship.
Bwahahahahaha, DOJ lawyers in Duffy vs NYC’s MTA file an internal memo with the court about how badly their case sucks.
Is this worse than what Alex Jones’ lawyer did? I’m not sure. This should join that incident in the Shitty Lawyer Hall of Fame.
In the video one of the tweets shown in response to this letter was titled, “The Gang Files a Letter”, as if this was an episode of It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia. Because that’s the kind of really fucked up shit they would do on that show. I actually cracked up IRL seeing that.
Well, not quite as bad - I think. In the AJ case, the image of the phone’s storage became evidence. In this case, the Judge allowed them to basically withdraw the letter they filed and everyone’s going to pretend it didn’t happen as far as the court goes.
As far as impact on the case, this doesn’t come close, that’s correct.
As far as embarrassment for whoever was involved, and looking bad, this might be worse. Devin Stone’s opinion was that this was worse (he even made that comparison himself late in the video); to a lawyer the only thing you could do that might be worse than this is to steal from your client. This is the kind of thing nobody should ever see. Of course, this is just one lawyer’s opinion.
Devin also pointed out that that the person responsible for the upload was not a “Trump hack” (his words) but a long-term, experienced lawyer. That person was quite likely not the actual person who made the mistake, since these sorts of tasks are often delegated to paralegals or junior lawyers, but even still you are responsible for supervising them, and this will fall back on her either way. So this isn’t really a “look how bad Trump’s lawyers are” sort of incident (for a change), but rather one of those simple mistakes that could happen to anyone (but should never happen).
That being said, for this to happen to Trump’s side still makes me chuckle, and I particularly enjoy how the Secretary of Transportation is essentially called an idiot in it.
He compares the two cases at the end of the video (around 14:10) and says that this one is probably worse.
Yeah, I made that comment before finishing the video and you’re right, he does.
Well, there’s Mike Lindell’s lawyer being forced to admit to the judge that his cites are full of AI-assembled garbage, which should at least get an honorable mention:
(quoting Darren because he linked it originally)
They caught him!
And naturally:
The suspect who was arrested Saturday in the theft of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem’s purse is in the country illegally, the U.S. attorney for the District of Columbia said in an interview with NBC News.
Ed Martin said a second suspect who also is in the country illegally is being sought by law enforcement.
Second suspect?
I can see the headlines Monday morning…
42 Illegals arrested for the theft of Noem’s purse deported to The Third Ring of Hell
So many Fox “personalities” have followed Trump’s trail of slime to the White House, and now maybe he’ll dump them for a new belle of the ball in NEWSMAX. After all, if you don’t tell him what he likes Trumpy gets mad.
