A Perfectly Reasonable Amount of Schadenfreude about Things Happening to Trump & His Enablers (Part 3)

It’s often depressing to see who’s holding which historic seat in Congress, but an incredible irony is Susan Collin’s in Margaret Chase-Smith’s

Nancy Mace, who describes herself as “trump in heels”, gets 8 people to show up for her speech.

She hasn’t learned much from him, eh?

She’s supposed to say it was 8000 and any other reports were fake news. But I guess she hasn’t figure that part out yet.

…and she had to leave early for the safety of all involved, as the venue was dangerously over-capacity with the huge crowds who were all really enthusiastic about hearing her talk.

I’m pretty sure Donald Trump is “Trump in heels”.

The reporter’s post sparked a fierce debate in his replies. “Trump wears lifts in his shoes!” posted one person.

While I’ll grant that the police might not force someone to take off their shoes, I’d generally put more weight on an official police measurement than on photo analysis.

Sure.

I’m just taking a chance to mock Trump since it’s the Pit.

Is it true? Eh, who knows, but regardless fuck Trump.

Fuck the ones who voted for him and his party. I was at the store last week and when I saw the price of beef, I blurted out “fuck those ranchers, I’m not paying 38.67 for 3, 8oz ribeye steaks.” Saying that out loud in an HEB got me a couple of dirty looks from the locals. Saying anything negative about beef or ranchers is pretty much a thought crime here in Texas… but fuck those kulaks that voted for him and the republicans who are helping him destroy the country.

‘Pard, them’s fightin’ words. It ain’t the *ranchers’ fault!’

‘Then whose fault is it?’

‘Well, the Deep State Government ain’t payin’ like they promised!’

‘You mean Trump’s policies are hurting ranchers? I’ll bet they’re glad they didn’t vote for him!’

The farmer and the cowman should be friends…and unite against the government.

I’m guessing that’s your local version of Piggly Wiggly?

Probably the best operator of full line grocery stores in the country right now.

Who, HEB or Piggly Wiggly?

HEB did give shoppers Central Market….

they are the dominant player in the grocery market here in Texas… and have been extremely successful for the last couple decades. They managed to push Albertsons/ Safeway (Randell’s) out of most markets…. I’ll take up rising prices with distant cousin Charles next time I’m in Kerrville visiting kin folk.

Huh. I’ve never heard of them, so I looked them up on Wiki. They have over 300 stores in Texas and another 100+ in Mexico. But no stores in any other state. The company is the 6th-largest private company in the country.

As grocery stores go, HEB is pretty progressive, but for Texas they really stand out. They pay well, still publicly embrace DEI, and support green projects. They do other forms of community support as well, including disaster relief.

They need to expand to the rest of the country.

But “Murder HEB” doesn’t have the same ring as Murder Kroger

Now this made me smile.

‘Sign of the times’: Far-right network sues Fox News

Newsmax is suing Fox News, alleging that it violates anti-trust laws by functioning as a monopoly.

Bloomberg Law’s Katie Arcieri, in an article published on Wednesday, September 3, reported: "Fox News dominates that market because it has ‘kept out, or restricted, competitors including but not limited to Newsmax and One America News Network,’

Yeah, this included acting as ad-hoc cooling centers when the power was out for days in the Houston area after Hurricane Beryl last year. And generally being pro-education (real education), not least because they found having educated employees, including stockers and cashiers, was better for business than un- or under-educated dropouts.

It’s still a corporation at the end of the day but I don’t feel any personal animus towards the company and think they do a lot of good things. Centerpoint executives, on the other hand, I doubt I’d piss on them if they were on fire.
