A poll about Bra's

I’m only posting because there’s only one other Doper admitting she’s an A cup. Tryin’ to get equal time for the itty bitties of the SDMB.

Do you wear a bra?
At work only. Except in winter, when I wear little tank tops under my sweaters. Or t-shirts. When in multiple layers, there’s just no need.
Size?
34A – just about a mouthful.
Why or why not?
Poofy nipples. When I’m not at work, big t-shirts pretty much hide it all, since there’s not that much to hide.
Wear a bra to bed?
What, are you nuts? Who would do that? Why would one do that? (Okay, I’ve read the other posts and I’m just really glad I’m little.)
Casually around the house?
Hell no.
Favorite style?
The only good bra is no bra at all, but my dream bra: demi cups, 100% cotton, no lace, no lycra, no underwires and front closure. I haven’t found it yet. For the life of me, I cannot understand why they put underwires in A cup bras. To support, what, exactly?

**and not really related but:

are your breats proportional to the rest of your body?**

Given how the other posters in this thread who claim to be tiny in stature, yet claim their massive B and C cups are proportional. to their bodies… Evidently I’m not. I must be on the smallish side. To be honest, I’ve not given the matter much thought until just now.

Oh, and P.S. to unwashed brain: Get lost, willya? This is not a bar. Start your own thread about boobs, if you must, but leave us alone while we’re talkin’ about ours, m’kay?

Nah, I’m not buying self-righteous indignation from a woman describing her own boobs on a public forum.

Yup

Size?
36 C

Why or why not?
Because it’s less comfortable to not wear one than it is to go without one.

Wear a bra to bed?
No, but I did ask my mom if I was supposed to when she bought me my first one when I was 11. I don’t think most people do.

Casually around the house?
Casually? It doesn’t become more comfortable to not wear one just because I’m home, so it stays on. It’s part of being dressed for the day.

Favorite style?
Cotton (sensitive skin) usually a soft cup, but underwires are ok.

and not really related but:

are your breasts proportional to the rest of your body?

Apparently not. I have difficulty finding button down shirts that fit all over. Either they fit every where else but won’t button over my breasts, or they do fit there and the shirt is loose everywhere else.

Hmmm. That’s not very coherent, is it? I meant it’s more comfortable to wear one than not to. I don’t understand complaints about how uncomfortable they are, if you’re wearing the right size, it shouldn’t feel a heck of a lot more noticable than your underwear does…course, there’s the straps to deal with

Do you wear a bra? - Indeed I do.

Size? - 42 DD

Why or why not? - Alas, my headlights point more down than out - my breasts need to be shoved into place a bit in order to look good in clothing. Also, I push myself around in a wheelchair all day - all that pushing would cause serious jiggling issues if I were to go braless.

Wear a bra to bed? - Ugh. Not unless I happen to fall asleep while wearing one. Even then, I usually wake up in the middle of the night & take it off.

Casually around the house? - Not unless I happen to be going out later in the day or have returned from being out.

Favorite style? - I must wear underwires, as I’ve found I can’t get enough support from soft cup/sports bras. Thus far, my favorite type is a line by Bali called Shoulder Spa; they have thick brastraps which contain gel as a shoulder-cushioning agent. I’ve tried to find ones I like at Victoria’s Secret, but I’ve been unsuccessful.

Oh, and Squish, did you purchase your corset(s?) at a larger store (i.e. Victoria’s) or a local boutique? I’m in the market to purchase one (someday soon, anyway. I can’t afford it right now :().

Are your breasts proportional to the rest of your body? - Yeah, I’d say so.
