A question about Ignore Lists

The rules about discussing Ignore Lists are quite clear, but I’m wondering what one should do in the following scenario:

Suppose you’re contributing to a thread and so is someone in your Ignore List. How should you respond when someone points out that unbeknownst to you the person in your Ignore List has made a significant contribution to the thread which you’ve ignored? Or worse: after you post an OP and they comprehensively answer it? You can’t just say, “Sorry, I don’t see their messages” because revealing Ignore Lists is forbidden.

I should note that this is as yet entirely hypothetical.

I would tend to go with “Oh. Never mind.”

Covers a world of stuff, does Ms. Litella.

The ignore function here does not work quite as I think you are envisioning it. When someone is on your ignore list, you still see that they’ve made a post to the thread; you just get a little box saying, “So-and-So is on your ignore list” and then there’s a button you can click if you want to view the actual contents of the blocked post. It’s not like ignore functions I’ve seen elsewhere that basically make it like the person never posted.

Thanks.
