A Random MMP (My first MMP!)

Dotty how’s Noor doin’ now? I’ll be keepin’ her (along with hubby and you) in my thoughts and prayers.

We dumped it in Boston Harbor.

Oh, and FTR, they are fries. They are also chips. Crisps are a dessert as in Apple or Pear. Sheesh! Don’t you people know your own language! :stuck_out_tongue:

doggio unfortunately, there are loyal Schlitz and malt liquor drinkers whose buying of said :shudder: beverages help fund my paycheck, so I must let at least some of it get through.

Howdy Y’all! We had major hyuuuuuuuuuuuge tstorms through the night and into this mornin’. I was gonna post before work but it was stormin’ when I got up. Heck, a storm even woke me up at two a.m. which is really sump’n cause usually I have no idea if there’s any kinda bad weather durin’ sleepy time, so you know it was a BIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIG STORM! We had anudder big storm move through around sevenish this mornin’ but I was at the brewry when that happened. I was in an area of the production floor near the outside so I saw the lightnin’ flashes, even though what with all the noise inside, plus me in earplugs I didn’t hear the thunder. Accordin’ to my unofficial rain gauge, it rained almost four inches. We have the promise of more storms through tomorrow. Seems the high pressure system that’s been sittin’ over us has broken somewhat and the low pressure system that’s brought all the rain to Rigs, MBG, gt etal is dippin’ southwards. I say bring it on! We need it!

I cooked tonight. Yep. Ok, I cooked this afternoon after I came home and showered. Pepper steak, angel hair pasta, steamed spareguts and carrots. I know one is supposed to serve pepper steak over rice but when I went to get the rice I spied the pasta and thought hmmmm… so I broke some pasta up and boiled it. I then stirred it into the pepper steak and let it all simmer for a bit. Tres Yum! Ol’ y’all know who was all over it talkin’ about how nummy it is. Well, since he’s over here for the night (spend the night night again, yay!) I shall let him show his “appreciation” in a bit.

Ok, I’m outta here. Gonna go look at a couple other threads and then well…

Lucky cat…

You’re the one ruling me out as a wild weekend partner…

:stuck_out_tongue:

ETA: We had enough rain the other night that I saw my first toadstool of the summer tonight while walking Freya.

The broken database has gone away. I admitted defeat and they will [del]inflict[/del] hand it off to the new girl, poor thing. I have instead taken over several other projects from 2006 to finish. At least they’ll be caught up when I leave.

[whisper]The term is aged, rigs, aged.

Hope everything is going better with Noor, Dotty. You’re in my thoughts and prayers.

Roo, my job can be stressful in a challenging way; lately it’s been stressful in an annoying way. Today was even more annoying. Hopefully this will pass or at least tone down soon.

Have a fun weekend, taxi!

We periodically have to guilt LOUNE into appearing in the MMP. rosie appears to have frightened him a way for the moment, however.

rosie posie, being chicken is no excuse. You’re a smart person and could serve your company very well in a position with more responsibility. I’d say: work on a resume (if you need someone to read it, I’d be happy to; I’m sure others would as well). Buy a suit. Apply for the job. If nothing else, it gives you a bit of practice for the next opportunity that comes up. I’ve had a lot of employees in the same position; I always encourage them to give it a try. It can’t hurt. You never know when a job will come up that your really really want and if you’ve updated your resume and even interviewed a bit more recently, you’ll have a better chance. So, get moving already!!!

I suppose we’re in for the storms that MBG and rigs are getting. Ick. I’m tired of rain and storms. At least we haven’t seen the flooding that they’ve had farther north.

Hope the noise stops soon, LiLi.

Your pets sound hilarous, Lemme.

Can you save some ice cream for me, FCM? I really need some.

Guess I should consider what to eat or drink besides yogurt.

Maybe a beerverage?

GT

Home, and everyone is fed and walked. It’s a frosty 89 right now.

Puggy, when Maggie gets the runs, the vet prescribes boiled hamburger, rice, and cottage cheese. It firms her right up.

zelie, gt, let’s not start spat #3, OK?

LiLi, sound like tinyninjachef needs to cut back on the espresso.

rosie, I’d go for the job. I bought a suit just for an interview.

Lunch, don’t be afraid. LOUNE is visiting Chez Opal(I’m seeing a lot of familiar faces there.)

BioTigs, sound like you have Neuman as your mailman.

SCL, lucky cat!

Silly person - what makes you think there’ll be any ice cream to save? :stuck_out_tongue:

I’m still robed, but I’m thinking about hitting the shower any time now. Getting de-grubbified does help me wake up somewhat.

I think today will be the last opened house day for a while. They’re talking upper 80s tomorrow, so I’ll probably have to close the house when I get home to snooze. I don’t think summer is my favorite season. Except for fresh 'maters. I like spring and fall much better. Autumn will be most welcome here. Except for the leaves falling.

Always something.

Off to shower, I guess…

Crazy day so there is no way I can catch up with page 6!

I did catch that Lunch and Roo were bringing my good name into their flirt fest/affair - QUIT IT!

I mearly said that if my hubby-to-be found another man in the house eating omelettes he would be upset

anyrose write your resume, buy a suit and go for it young lady! Do not make me come over there!

I’ve got a theory. It could be BUNNIES!

I had to close up our house this afternoon, Moooom; it wasn’t that hot, but man, the humidity was making me feel miserable. It’s much better with the drier air.

Papa Tigs had another one of his patented 11.5-hour days, so by the time he dragged in the door, Papa John ended up fixing our dinner. Which was just fine with me since I didn’t want to have to cook, either.

And I’m now going to do something strange and different: Go crawl in bed with a book and my knitting and the cat, and make an early evening of it! Nighty-night, everyone, and don’t have too much fun while I’m catching up on my beauty sleep!

Go Rosie, go Rosie! Be careful though. The last job I held I kept getting talked into applying for higher positions (“You’re doing the job anyway; you may as well get paid for it.”) Hated the jobs, lost sleep, devoted my life to it, went a bit crazy and got majorly burned. I’d have been so much happier in my little peon job where I was queen of the copy machine. What is it–work to live, not live to work?

Tomorrow, The Other comes home. My husband is gone all week, working about 150 miles away, and I MISSED him this week. We’ve been together 20+ years and we opted to live this way so that we could have a beach house, but some weeks are hard. Besides, five pets and two humans is a much more level playing field. It takes the dogs a day or two before they acclimate to him being home, then he’s gone again. Poor puppies. (The cats couldn’t care less. They consider him the interloper.)

I appreciate everyone’s support and encouragement. I will give this some serious thought. On the plus side - it would bring new and more challenges, not to mention WAY more money, which is no small thing, believe me. But first I must create a resume and mull this whole thing over.
I looked again at the responsibilities and prerequesites (sp?) and I may not actually be qualified for the position, but like you all said, it doesn’t hurt to apply and get interviewed. As long as I don’t invest too much hope in it.

Shrimp[y] might be a good appetizer, but Lunch should be more substantial.

You’re dreaming again. It ain’t even happening.

I can handle it. Bring on LOUNE (the banana/popcorn shrimp) too. The more, the merrier.

Was that draft I felt a crepe paper cape flying above my head?
**
rosie**, good luck getting the interview. I skipped past the encouragement part since it was done before I got here.

zelie, have a fun vacation.

That’s a good thing, right?
**
gt**, then I wish you peace, love and light in your workplace. Stress be gone!
It is once again time for bed. These days are flying by! Or I’m sleeping a lot. Or both. But before I go:

Where’s Mork?! I haven’t seen him since he just got over his tooth pain. Calling Mork!! Are you OK? Please check in at the courtesy phone at the information kiosk of the MMP.

OK, now that that’s done, I can head off to bed. Good night everyone!!
(and good morning to Dotty and Lunch, of course)

Evenin’ everyone.

rosie, I say you should go for it. Even if they choose someone else, going for something better will be easier because now you’ve already got the resume ready. I found that’s what happened with me, anyway.

The weather was actually very pleasant today, but with the advent of the weekend, comes the rain. It figures…

Thanks to everyone for the good wishes for my daughter. I’m not noticing any improvement, and she only has two days left on her antibiotics. I’ll give it till the end of the prescription, and if there isn’t any improvement, I’ll take her in again.

Hugs to Noor and Dots. I’m keeping you in my thoughts.

I’m glad you enjoyed the funny, Swampy. **Mr. Taters ** wanted to send it to you, so he did. What made it funny for me is the actual text of the message. I have a friend who actually writes like that. Sometimes I have to read her e-mails several times before I can figure out what the hell she’s saying.

Thank goodness it’s Friday tomorrow. It’s been a busy week trying to get caught up at work. I’ve discovered some major problems with ad hocs I pull from a system. They’re not mine, but I use them to report data to our HQ in Texas. I called the Chief of the Referral section, because she’s who I prepare the report for. She’s highly concerned too. We’re hoping we can get it figured out. It won’t be in time for the report that’s due tomorrow, but I’ll address the issue in the analysis anyway, and hopefully, when I run the numbers next month, I can do a corrected version of the previous two months and the issue will be resolved.

We went to the Chinese buffet for a co-workers lunch today. I didn’t eat a lot, because not long after we returned from that, it was cake, cheesecake, and ice cream time. One of my co-workers brought in a chocolate cake with homemade chocolate butter cream frosting and shaved chocolate on top. It was very rich, but yummy.

I didn’t think Benny Hill was all that funny either. I thought of him as a lecherous lout, really. Once in a great while one of his bits would make me chuckle, but it was rare.

Does anyone remember Are You Being Served? ?I liked that show. That was a goofy bunch of folks.

I didn’t even get to see the Straight Dope yesterday, and I ended up making sketti for dinner too. I made a meat sauce, but it is a RULE that we can’t have sketti unless I make meatballs too. Well, I don’t make the meatballs. I use the italian style meatballs from Coscto. They’re quite tasty. The sauce I make is more of marinara with red wine, but I put browned and seasoned italian sausage and onions in there too. I include some diced tomatoes and all the appropriate seasonings as well. It’s quite tasty and I always receive compliments.

I guess I’ll watch a little TV and let my son have the 'puter for awhile. I kicked him off so I could catch up with all of you.

Oh! I’m so glad to see scout posting again. I’ve missed seeing you here on a regular basis.

MORE rain and storms. Must leave for work. bye all–

pounces rosie

Didja miss the very first post? I put my flag in and conquered this here MMP.

rosie, scaring me away…it is to laugh!

hands her a slimy frog

Edited to add: What’s not to love about Benny Hill?

So glad it’s finally Friday! Little brother and his kids will be here part of the weekend, so I’ll have plenty of distractions. Also, I have a dinner invitation for tonight. Yay!

Hope everyone has a great day! (Thanks for the good wishes, Roo. I’m hoping the universe is listening to your commands.)

GT

what are you, a Tigger?

wait til I put on some gloves before I take that frog from you - I just put on moisturizer.
Where you been all week?

I’ve been around.
You know…doin’ stuff…

yes, I’m aware that’s vague.

That could be anything from “I’ve become wealthy and am planning a Malcolm Forbes style MMP fest.” to “I’ve added to the jar of human eyeballs I keep in my fridge.”

Off to work, I pulled someting in my neck, should be a fun day.

Tootles!
