"A really good reality show for gay people would be five gay men dying of AIDS"

Story about the Montana Family Coalition campaigning against homosexulity on TV here.

WTMF? These are the people who vote for Bush, right? These are the people whose sons end up allowing kids like Matt Shepard to die hung up on a fence.

Oh wait, that was Wyoming.

In the same way that a good reality show for old people would be five old men dying of prostate cancer.

Er, I know this is a hijack and all, but that’s why I find Rent so horribly annoying.

Christ on a shit-house shingle, this is stupid.

The Montana Family Coalition is stupid and the OP is stupid re:

And those moron terrorists, the ALF, tend to vote for Democrats and Green types - Does the same implication about Democratic voters apply too? Are they all terrorists too?

People take too many easy swipes anymore.

MeanJoe

Hehehehe, I find Rent annoying because it’s just a bunch of screaming and overdriven guitars.

I almost started this thread myself, then realized I just didn’t have the energy to care. Seventeen Montana nitwits are going to refuse to buy Disoranno (sp?) now? How much of it were they buying before?

I wouldn’t sweat the idiot quoted in the OP. She and her kind are dinosaurs, destined to be destroyed by the impact of the asteroid of logic and reason. I don’t waste one minute thinking about people with such ugly minds.

Well, you have to remember that Rent is an updating of Giacomo Puccini’s opera, La Boheme, in which the heroine, Mimi, dies of tuberculosis, an ailment which mowed down sopranos in operas like La Traviata and La Dame Aux Camellias. Since TB is no longer the scourge it once was, it made sense to update to today’s disease that kills the young and beautiful, AIDS.

I’ve watched QEFTSG and found it somewhat amusing despite my “straight tendencies”. I also find the Montana coalition somewhat full of crap and were I able to contact them would probably suggest they just turn the damn channel.

But what this has to do with my decision to vote for Bush… well, you lost me and probably a few others there.

I must defend Rent. Don’t forget, it was written pre-cocktail, so AIDS was still a death sentence and was still ravaging the community.

(Not that it’s not still a big deal and a killer disease, but things have changed somewhat.)

And I love the soundtrack. The end of the first act especially. Damn good night at the theater.

WTMF, yourself.

That’s right, us Bush voters like to spend our Saturday afternoons teaching our kids how to murder those pesky queers. We’d do it on Sunday, too, but that’s the lords day so we’re all in church. Yee-Haw!

I don’t know who should be more offended by your idiotic OP, people from Montana, the 50% of the country that voted for Bush, or just anybody who read it. Go fuck yourself.

While Alf scares fuck out of many of us, do you mean the Earth Liberation Front, or “ELF”?

lieu - Well, don’t I feel like a git!

ALF… ELF… ALF… ELF. :smack:

Carry on, nothing to see here.
MeanJoe

Animal Liberation Front is another one of those whack-job groups.

I was more annoyed by the fact that these morons got any media attention outside whatever county they are in. It’s disappointing that any national media outlet (I saw this on The Advocate’s website, so they’re included) gives these nutjobs such a large, national stage. Without the help of the media, they’d not be able to reach people other than their friends, family and neighbors.

And as to the crack about Bush, all I can say is that I cringe anytime I see Qazzz has posted.

Um… yea, what Brutus said.

I knew that little furry puppet was a member of a whack-job group that coincidently shared the same name!

Oh, I’m so confused now I shall retire from this thread and return to softer, kinder places like the television.

meanJoe

Ahhh, well then I stand corrupted.

Animal Liberation Front? Can I please buy some of the unclefucking excess of time these sunavabitches are wasting running around trying to insure some stray poodle doesn’t get it’s pelt cleaned with an experimental juju bean shampoo? Don’t they have any crops in the field, term papers or nose picking that needs to be attended to?

“Wouldn’t it be great if you could only get AIDS by giving money to televangelists?” - Elayne Boosler

You had me going until the Bush comment. The GD topic here is:

Who is a greater threat to society, the Montana Family Coalition and their hate or Quazzz and his idiocy?

lieu, you disgust me. Do you have any idea what happens to a poodle’s pelt when cleaned with experimental juju bean shampoo? I didn’t think so.

George W Bush 50,459,624 47.87%
Al Gore 51,003,238 48.38%

Voter turnout in that election:
50.41% of voting age population
67.11% of registered voters

So by my math, Bush was elected by 24.13% of the voting public.
