Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN 'Tis 54 Amurrkin out and foggy with a predicted high of 81 and sunny for the day. NICE!
A good time was had by all last night. Good company, good food, good drink, and, of course, bein’ highly entertained by a Tuna Christmas. JDD and Partner left around nine-thirty and we crashed shortly thereafter. Dishwasher did its thang whilst we crashed so there are clean dishes. However, since they refuse to put themselves away I must do so at some point.
Today’s plans include deheathenization and not much else. I think we shall grab burgers for N.O.L. Laundry also needs to be done. It’s just neverendin’!
rosie like others said, the first time around is always rejected. You might want to ask for an appeal before an ALJ before gettin’ a lawyer. A friend did this and had a hearin’ set, but before the hearin’ was to take place, he got a letter from SSA that said upon further review he now qualified. Might be worth a shot.
OK, that’s all I got for now. I need more caffeine and some brain bleach to get the image of MetalMOuse dancin’ around nekkid outta my haid. Rumbly tummy also demands sustenance. Of course, at some point purtification for deheathenization must commence.

First day on morning shift! It was SO hard to sleep last night. Got maybe 2 hours. But this is going to be so much better once my body adjusts!
There’s a storm going on. It’s been over a week! Heavy flooding throughout the state.
I said we needed water, but I wasn’t expecting this! Just hoping the power stays on.
Happy Sunday, Dopers!
Going to be another pretty day, sunshine and warm.
I’m trying to get my moso bags out into the sun but my knee is not cooperating. Every time I try to stand up if feels like somebody is shoving a knife under my knee cap and giving it a twist.
Doggio - I think if we put a dead mouse in the professor’s bed he’d probably think it was some kind of performance art. Since he doesn’t give extra credit its hardly worth it.
Well, I guess it’s time to fire up the oven and start making cookies. I don’t wanna, but I gotta get them done, and the sooner I start, the sooner it’s done.
It’s so hard to be meeeeeeee!! <whine whine whine>
I made just under 5 dozen snickerdoodles, but they were too thin - I shouldn’t have had more than 4 dozen. Plus I’ve just got over 6 dozen molasses cookies, and they’re a good size. Shortly, I’ll put 2 pie crusts in to bake so I can make a couple of quiches (for supper, so I’ll finish them off later.)
I’m sweating, and the house is open and ceiling fans are on! This is one weird December…
Up and waiting for the delivery of my nieces. There shall be shrieking and screaming until my sister comes to pick them up. I heated the pool so I could send them outside, but that plan may not work…
And now my debit card was rejected for a purchase on line. Honest to goodness, I don’t know what’s going on. I just spoke with a customer service rep and she said she’d put a code on our account to permit its use for the online purchase. So frustrating!! There’s no one at the company I can call today, but I emailed back - with luck, they can take care of it.
All cookies are either packed for the trip or set aside for us to nosh upon. Quiches are in the oven. Dishwasher is washing, except for the cookie sheets and cooling racks and one big bowl which have been washed by hand and are drying in the dish rack. So the kitchen is tidy - yay!
I need to make the bed, but that’ll go quickly, especially if **FCD **gives me a hand. I also need to pack a few sammiches for lunches this week. Man, will I ever get to chill??? Whew!
Have I mentioned before that I have the bestest neighbor evah!!! Barbara came over and told us to come to her house and get some food as she’s been in cook mode and made way more than she could ever eat. She was right! Poke roast, greens with okra, squish casserole, corn bread and ginger bread with an orange/lemon icin’ on top. YUUUUUUUUUMMMMMMMMMM!!! We’s stuffded to the max. YAY BARBARA!!! Serious good eats there! Chill mode has ensued.
Well it rained off and on all day so we napped. Hubby managed to pull a muscle in his back so he is pitiful. As hard as he works everyday it took him just bending over to throw his back out.
I made a pot of chicken and rice around lunch time. Don’t know yet what will be dinner. Maybe a frozen pizza or egg sandwich. Or whatever:confused:
This weekend went entirely too fast. I want a do over.
I survived work, then I took Gordie before a log walk before dark. now I’m making dinner. 'Que style poke chops, Jack Daniels applesauce, sweet **N.O.T.**s, and green beans with a little country ham. Watching the Packers play.
FCM, I’m not a fan of Christmas, either. You could do what I do, and celebrate Festivus instead.
I got 90% of my Christmas cards done! I also got my Secret Santa gift in the car, ready to be mailed tomorrow as I forgot to yesterday. All will go out Monday. Whew, that’s a load off of my shoulders.
I liked doing Christmas cards, don’t get me wrong, but last year I didn’t send any, my heart wasn’t in it following the death of my father.
I bummed a ride to go heathenate from one of my fellow heathens who just moved to my town. He’s the music coordinator, so I had to be ready to go at 7:15 am. We had our usual lunch at Blackstone Brewery before coming home. It totally broke the cabin fever.
