A sad, busy trip to Cottonfield County: this week's MMP

Howdy people!!!
Does Opal have a nickname yet?
Bobbio - glad you’re still insured. I constantly have a nagging feeling that my insurance has been cancelled (never has). It’s an unpleasant thought.
Ashes2 (how do I do a superscript?) and rosie - I’m sorry you’re both so sick. I hope you get better soon!

Just had my second physical in 6 months. UConn wants my doctor to sign off that I’m healthy enough to go to school but my May physical was too long ago for them to accept it. I love my doctor. He takes my BP and listens to my lungs, refills my antidepressant, gives me a TB test and orders for vaccine titers. That was my physical. My OB does the girlie stuff so there’s not much left for him to do.

Now I have to actually have the blood work done. Don’t wanna. I’m lazy dammit. I want to go back to sleep!

Why, oh why, did I start this remodel? It has turned into a nightmare. All I want is to take a shower in my own bathroom. Is that too much to ask? <whimper>

On the other hand, I am not cleaning out sheds and such, so that makes me feel better.

To makes Ashes2 into Ashes[sup]2[/sup], bracket the 2 like this: [ sup]2[/ sup], then eliminate the spaces I put inside the brackets.

shortdrum to do superscript it’s leftbracketsuprightbracket whatever you want to superscript leftbracket/suprightbracket. Works for subscript too.

Brynda (we need to work on a nickname) I here ya! Just think how wonderful it will be to take a shower or bath in your woundrous, luxurious brand new bathroom when it’s all over.

BBBobbio at least they owned up to it. Glad the insurance is all better now.

It’s **N.O.L.**time. Ham and cheese sammich and intratoobz!

I just had to call the Cali DMV…Grrrrrrr. We have changed out address and sent in writing that the car is now registered out of state and the date we did the registration and I have been continutally getting letters for renewals and penalties and now suspension on the car registration. They only entered it into the system on Friday last week. I sent this stuff in August and again in September and again last month. At least it is done now. Anything else I receive from them will be shredded.

Then I get a call from my State Farm Agent who we have our renters & car insurance policy with saying they need to ask me some questions. Uh-Oh I have a feeling of doom on that one!

Anyhoo…I hope all the surgery recovery peoples are doing as they are told and recuperating!

Remodels are a PITA Brynda but it will be Shiny! when it is done.

And it is almost time for vacation. Tomorrow is my last day and I will only be here 1/2 day as well. :D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

I kept forgetting I had a latte today and had to microwave it four times until I finally finished it. What the hell? I mean it’s sitting on my desk RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME. Getting cold.

Don’t you hate it when you have dreams where you own something cool and then wake up only to realize it was a dream? I have dreams like that sometimes where I’ll buy something totally amazing at a really affordable price, and it seems so real… and then I wake up… sigh

Sorry for posting three in a row, but is this a rolling pin for you? For normal rolling pin purposes? I used to have a cheap wooden one but was eventually convinced to spend the extra money and get a marble one, and it is really worth the difference IMO. Things stick a lot less frequently and it’s a lot easier to clean. Plus it’s pretty. And it’s heavier if you have to whack someone on the head.

Vunderbob: when I owned a house I once got a letter from my mortgage bank saying they were purchasing an insurance policy on my house and tacking that extra charge onto my mortgage payments. I called them and asked WTF because I already had HO insurance. It took about a week to straighten out but there was a miscommunication between my insurance carrier and the bank and I almost got saddled with double insurance. Sometimes I wonder if they do it on purpose to see if they can get away with collecting the extra money.

I made a pecan pie for my irk friend’s birthday and she and I ate at least one third of it after our lunch. The rest of it was done in by other cow-irkers. I forgot how good pecan (pe-KHAN, what can I say, I’m from the North) is and how easy it is to make. I think I’ll make one for Christmas Day at my sister’s.

  1. OpalCat is venerable. We don’t mess with her.
  2. Opal kind of is her nickname
  3. Hi, Opal.

:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

Well…when you put it THAT way…

Bobbbbio, glad that the insurance issue is fixed! Sending good thoughts to Mmmmms about hers, though. Opal, yes it is a rolling pin for me - I just need to have something to roll out the Christmas cut-out cookies and any other dough that needs rolling out. I’d love to have a marble rolling pin, and yes they are worth it, just not in my budget right now. It will be though!

Semi Blurf. It’s raining and the dog won’t budge from the couch. Can’t say I blame her-- piddling in public is bad enough. Being rained upon, even if I cover her with an umbrella, can’t be conducive to comfy piddling.

Thanks to all the well- wishers; my ickness is on the run. The MMP has done well, crossing appendages works! We have scientific proof now. This post is our cite!

I should do laundry but the room is downstairs and across, so since I still have clean clothes, it’ll just wait until tomorrow. Ashes’esses tip for new places-- check to see if there’s a laundry hook up!

Swamps ‘n’ Opal– the dream sweater was fabuu. I’m glad it wasn’t ruined IRL.

Three finals down, two to go. Woo!

On my way back to the apartment, I picked up a nice Black and Decker Crush Master blender, with ten speeds of pulverizing glory. I’m going to make my rum balls tonight and celebrate being more than halfway done with finals week. Thanks for the suggestion, rosie.

I hope everybody’s having a good day. Happy to hear you’re feeling better, Ashes.

I am a bachelorette for 10 days. Hubby is off to parts unknown for flight test support. He called this morning to say he’s cold, and it’s going to snow a lot today. (Not snowing here.)
He’s hoping they move the testing to someplace warmer.

I’m off to the pool now.

OMG, I just had the best afternoon. My sweetie has a migraine and stayed home from work. I had a break, so I came home to check on him. Well, one thing led to another and…we took a nap. Heaven! Going back to work now in a much better mood.

Huh? You got laid because he had a headache?

;)

  1. Hi Opal!

I want to have just one week where I don’t have a panic attack. So far this week is shot. Let’s try for next week!

Evenin’ all!

Was planning to go into town today, to experience the joy that is Christmas shopping (I may a girly-type-person, but I hatehatehatehate shopping with a mortal vengeance- unless it’s shopping for plants or fish, but anyway) - then woke up to the sound of rain. I can’t normally hear rain in my room, and boy was it heavy, so I just went back to sleep. When I woke up again, it’d all turned into hail, so thought maybe the outdoor shopping wasn’t quite the thing today, and decided to brave the mall- I never go there normally, as it’s all big and rather fashionable for someone like me, who would cheerfully wear a sack if I thought I could get away with it.

Two weeks before Christmas; it is not a fun place to be.

I spent 4 hours searching for a hat for me Mum; she normally doesn’t ask for anthing particular, but thought she’s be helpful this year, and asked me for another hat like the one I got her last time. Unfortunately, I bought that one on holiday- in New Zealand, so I can hardly nip back to the shop- and does anyone sell anything vaguely similar here? Do they heck, there was nothin’ even close. I’ll be trying the same thing in the town centre tomorrow, wish me luck please! I’m pretty much done, and at least buying stuff for my cousin’s toddler gave me an excuse to play in the toy shop for a bit.

Hope all the hubbys is recuperating nicely!

It’s raining cats and dogs! Actually, just one poor black cat in the tree outside my balcony, trying to keep dry. He won’t come to the half-wall and since the staying dry seems to be working, I’ll leave him be.

Congrats ems! You survived dealing with Cali’s DMV. I left a good chunk of my sanity behind, the last time I took them on.

picu, tell hubby he needn’t test planes down here. Everybody is flying very low today.

Poor Spaz. Have you remembered to breathe? It’s almost not helpful at all, but it’s taken the very slightest edge off panic for me. Can’t make myself do the laughing exercises-- it’s too sad/pathetic when the attack is bad enough.
