A Scottish MMP

It’s 75F and sunny here in our little town. I mowed the yard this morning and them had a late lunch with Wifey at the Bakery.
I’m thinking about walking allll the way over to the credit union 3 blocks away and then on to the farmers market in the field behind them. And if I want to do that I need to get started.
So.
Carry on.

Upon the restoration of Charles II: “The bodies of Oliver Cromwell, Henry Ireton and John Bradshaw were subjected to the indignity of posthumous decapitations.”

Don’t mess around. :dubious:

The replacement taillight ens arrived for the “new” truck. Too easy to install, something must be wrong…
The CD player/radio arrived yesterday. It too appears too easy. We shall see on Saturday.

Supped on a roast beef sammich. My housekeeper lady was here today and I wanted to keep the house and kitchen clean for at least one day.

I am taking the day off tomorrow ahead of our company coming I think this weekend. It is my stepson and family. They bring a pull behind RV with them so I will not have to house them as they have too many kids.

I just love company especially when they leave.

Now what shall I do on my day off tomorrow? I need to clean out the closets and get rid of a bunch of clothes and shoes but I don’t know that I will be that ambitious.

Worked, came home, cleaned the bathroom, napped…

“STRANGE WOMEN LYING IN PONDS, AND DISTRIBUTING SWORDS IS NO BASIS FOR A SYSTEM OF GOVERNMENT!”

Not sure today was worth the shampoo and toothpaste to participate in. DH got a flat on the way to irk, wound up not getting there at all, plus having to buy a new tire. I had two escalations, one a guy who was POed at another agent, the other a princess who firmly believed that she should not have to deal with the way reality works when dealing with our product. I’m pretty sure I’m also fairly seriously PMS.

On the plus side, I did see a nice cat who hangs out at the light rail station I use in the mornings, and she did seem to appreciate some attention.

Work done, car packed ------- see yinz next week.

Someone slip over Flytraps with a tube of Super-Glue when he isn’t looking; sometime before Saturday morning.

This one was up the inside. I know, safer, but not much of a view. :frowning:

Dogbutt, Spiderbutt, Ratbutt; which butt are you, Paininthe? :dubious:**
**

I’ve never had 'em; heck, I’ve never eaven heard of 'em before you.

I just had some [del]dinner[/del] sustenance (consisting of one left over hot doggie, the left over coleus slaus, & some N.O.T. chips) now 'cause I just got home a few ago & don’t feel like cooking this late.

Tea was lovely. We started with toemahtoe and red lentil soup. A tray of savories, including finger sammiches (not made of fingers, but of beef), chicken pie, leek and haddock quiche. The tray of sweeties…I think my blood glucose is about a million. Pistachio macarons, salted caramel chocolate brownies, blueberry and lemon drizzle cake. All in bite size pieces. In the words of our guests, it was scrummy. Today is the zoo, and the penguin parade. Penguin participation is optional.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN 'Tis 68 Amurrkin out and clear (it’s daylight!) with a predicted high of 93 and mostly N.O.S. for the day. The big plan today is mowage of da yahd. Rah. I shall commence that around eightish this a. of m. We shall sup upon lemon chikin and whatever else I decide. Chikin shall roast in the slow cooker in a lemon sauce. Very tasty!

Ruble y’all have fun! I’d say don’t get into any trouble except I know you can’t have fun without gettin’ into trouble.

Now I need more caffeine and rumbly tummy demands sustenance. Then, onward into the day!

Happy Thursday Y’all!

Holy crap on a cracker, am I feeling my mowage this morning!! Actually, it’s likely the whackage, swinging that thing back and forth while perched on a precarious slope. Ditch mowage is just walking back and forth, and riding mowage is just riding.

Speaking of riding mowage - the other day I saw an Amish farmer behind a team of horses pulling a gas-powered mower. I don’t understand - it’s OK to use a power mower, but only if it’s pulled by horses? It’s not OK to ride the mower itself? I’m not mocking, I honestly don’t understand their rules.

Anyway, it’s Thursday and I’m at my desk. Just another day in paradise.

Happy Thursday!

Happy Thorsday!

It’s another chilly morning, 55 degrees outside.
We had to close the windows, but saving money, no heat and no AC.

Spidey I got off irk at 11:30 last night and was making spam and beans for the kid at midnight.
Then was up at 5:30 this morning. I see a nap in the near future.

I didn’t order groceries yesterday, so I have to do it today. When we are eating spam and beans, you know the cupboard is bare.
Not really, still have a carton of eggs, half a loaf of bread, a pork roast and half a head of cabbage, a pack of hot dogs and another can of beans.
If my son wasn’t such a picky eater I could put off shopping for another week.

Good morning Thorsday!

Finally feeling recuperated from my North Carolina trip, so mowage is on the schedule. Unlike swampy, I have nearby neighbors. so I’ll wait until about 0930 before getting the Toro cranked up.

Wet one, sounds like you handled tea with aplomb and class. And if you like the penguin parade, you need to visit Memphis, Tennessee sometime: The Peabody Hotel Duck March - YouTube

Mooooommm, I really don’t know about the Amish using mowers, could they have been Mennonites? (they dress similarly, but the Mennonites do accept some ‘new’ stuff).

Nettie, days like this…hope today is better for both you and DH.

Sunny, children and messy rooms go together like…well, me and messy rooms (but at least I do wash the dishes).

Butters, enjoy the company, and enjoy the peace and quiet when they depart even more.

OK, off to the kitchen for cinnamon raisin toast and a Pepsi–breakfast for bachelor.

Today is the first day with our summer nanny. She’s my husband’s cousin and she’s going to school to be an elementary school teacher, so I’m sure she’ll be great with the kiddos. She’s baby sat for us before and they love her. But it’s different, not having to get the kids all sheveled and shipped off in the morning. I had time to stop at Starbucks and get myself a huge (free!) drink before work. It’s delicious.

No, this guy was definitely Amish. The Mennonites here are recognized by their minivans. At least when I see them driving, they’re in minivans. Never seen a Mennonite in a 'Vette.

I just ran out of work. Time to start bugging people again.

And likely to remain one if you serve such fare to guests.

I am up and have dog walked. I have a runny toilet and there is no shutoff :eek:. We just connected to the new sewer a few months ago and we have to pay for water coming into the house as well as what goes out .

I guess hubby will just have to stop long enough to fix it. I got the flapper to seat a little better to stop the running but it needs to be fixed.

First world problems.

I shall journey to the store in a bit and get something to cook for supper. I think it is chicken day. So tired of the same stuff. Swampy can you give me your shrimp n grits recipe please?

Off with me.

Nm

Not looking forward to another obnoxiously long meeting. It’s a two-hour meeting (and that’s optimistic) and I’m needed for about 15 minutes of it. What a way to spend a gorgeous afternoon on my birthday. At least I get to go home after it.

Butters, fixing a running toilet isn’t too difficult. I’ve done it a few times in my life. Your gasket may be worn out, or the stopper may be old and cracking. But don’t forget about the chain. If it’s too long or short, it may be causing the flapper to sit weird on gasket and cause leaking.

I need to stop for groceries also. I inventoried the freezer yesterday and there’s not much in there - some ribs, 4 chickie breasts, 2 burgers, 1 old bratwurst, assorted fish filets (which the kids won’t eat) and lots of veggies. I need to get some meat-like substances.

Not my idea of a fun afternoon.

But it’s lunch time and I’ve gotten a little work to do, so there’s that. I may actually be gainfully occupied this afternoon.
